By the time Lyn got to her class, Ms Thompson was there already. She thought of bunking the lesson due to her tutor's attitude but remembering that Liam 'somehow needed Literature', she motivated herself to face Ms Thompson.
"Good morning ma'am", Lyn greeted the literature teacher as soon as she sat foot in class.
"Morning my dear where are you coming from? Please take your seat the lesson is about to start."
Ms Thompson was not bothered by Lyn's lateness, rather she looked happy and ready than ever to conduct her lesson. The lesson was going well and Lyn made sure she was writing in her best handwriting.
After the lesson was tea break. Evelyn rushed to the sciences class where she found Liam playing a game on his iPad.
"Liam, I am back. I came to give you literature notes. Please copy then return my book after school so that I also use it after school for my studies!" Lyn remarked.
"Thank you friend. That's so sweet of you." Liam thanked.
Without saying much, Liam resumed his game. Lyn left for the tea break area for the tuesday muffin. She knew Damien would not be there since he hated muffins. Suddenly, her path was blocked;
"Where are you coming from Eve? You left the classroom as soon as Ms Thompson left but you hadn't made it to the tea break area, tell me are you okay?" It was Damien who had followed Lyn upon noticing that she had left in a hurry.
"I am fine dear boyfriend, I just had to use the bathroom." Eve lied.
"Then you spent a lot of time staring at your face, applying more lip gloss so you become more noticeable to me. Listen Lyn, I love you and I don't mind seeing you waking up or without lip gloss, you're still beautiful to me. Here, I got you a muffin. I had to choose the biggest as you were not around"
"Thank you Damien."
Lyn hated to lie to her boyfriend. She did not know why she had lied in the first place. The two went back to class and continued with the business of the day. At lunch time Lyn and Damien walked slowly to the dining hall where Lyn noticed Liam. She had to talk to him, she felt uneasy seeing him alone but she could not leave Damien. Lyn decided to brush it off.
After lunch they had to change for sport. Damien quickly changed and left hostel. He would have waited for Lyn but he did not know if she had left or was still in hostel. A part of him knew she was still in hostel, maybe applying more lip gloss but he joined Deon and Miguel who were talking about Manchester United's match against Manchester City the previous night. He just had to help Deon, his fellow Man United fan for their team had lost. Their argument was heated that they got to classes without even noticing how they walked.
Lyn rushed out of hostel scared to be late for she had to give the teachers a good impression so she'll make it when she apply for stewardship second term when she noticed Liam pacing like a tortoise.
"Liam walk faster i am waiting for you!"
Liam's pace slightly increased but not in Lyn's satisfaction.
"Liam please increase the pace a little more or else we will be late," she complained.
"I will only increase because you said 'please' plus you're my friend but i don't want to walk fast. I want to be late. Those people in class looks at me like i am a minion or something. At least if they're are preoccupied looking at the lecturer teaching they won't have to look at me." He complained.
"I get you but the thing is I want to be a steward so the teachers should see how punctual i am so as to win their hearts."
At this moment Liam had caught up with Lyn and they were hitting 1metre paces towards school.
"After high school i think you should apply to be in the Army." Liam sarcastically remarked.
"You don't get it when i say I want to be a steward right? I really want the stripped blazer if not be a headgirl."
" But why? "
" I was born a leader"
" I don't think natural leaders would be obsessed this much with being in power. No matter the post you have, if you're just a leader you will lead those in power. "
" But if i am not in power my testimonial will not indicate that i was leading anyone. "
" There were no testimonials or whatsoever at my old school so does that mean the kids i left behind are disadvantaged? "
" I do not know how you did things at your former school but here they teach to do everything and anything for a 'perfect' testimonial."
They got to Lyn's class.
" Go and be educated and stop thinking about the testimonial and I'll tell you the rules of leadership after school. Bye Evelyn"
" Bye for now Liam"
Evelyn and Liam parted, all Lyn was thinking about was the rules of leadership she was promised. 'Maybe Liam is not that bad,' she thought to herself, 'or maybe he is because i am now late for Miss Louis's girl's talk.' She paced towards Miss Louis's class to find her missing because she was never late. Upon enquiry she found out that she had gone for a director's meeting. The news made the worried Lyn happy then sat next to Murry. The girls were already seated in groups they click in just talking about anything and everything.
"Lyn are there hockey trials today?" Murry enquired.
"Yes ma'am, you want to come back?"
" No, not really. Actually I don't know to be honest. I was thinking of coming for hockey trials, trials for tennis are tomorrow but still the challenge is, practice time is the same for all sports so i have to choose one."
" So you better make up your mind before fifteen thirty ma'am.You have approximately seventy minutes to decide." To ease her confusion, Muriel changed the subject to;
" Where were you just after lunch, when your boyfriend was making noise with Miguel and Deon in the tunnel? Those men love soccer." Muriel was laughing about it.
" Sometimes I feel like he loves soccer more than he loves me."
" Stop comparing yourself to that, you're loved!"
" I wish soccer was not a sport for this term, i hate it!"
" Why do you hate soccer with passion?"
" I only hate soccer because that's the only team which travels with the cheerleaders when they have an away match. I can not forget that scandal he had last year with that cheerleader Lee-anne, they still talk, I am uncomfortable about it. Have you ever seen Damien playing hockey? He is good at it. He can join hockey and leave soccer but because he still has something for that ill mannered girl, he will not leave the sport. " Lyn was already panting with rage.
" Evelyn once again i am sorry for that. I am sorry on Damien's behalf but please let that go for the sake of your relationship. Your boyfriend's recent action says a lot about that incident. One can tell that he feels bad for ever cheating on you. He loves you. Let him show you how sorry he is and how much he is willing to ammend. I think I have made up my mind. I will do tennis this term. Tennis is short of people compared to hockey."
" Yes you have made a good decision, after the transferring of those three ladies definitely there is a short. Wish me luck in today's trials."
" Wish you luck? Really Lyn? Do you even need that?"
" Why not?"
" You're the best hockey player in this school and please don't look at me like that. You know you are. Even everyone in this room knows that. Anyways all the best in today's trials when you show everyone that you're the best hockey player." They both laugh.
Lyn stood with their hockey goalie when she noticed Liam approaching with a hockey stick. She had no option but to enjoy what was in sight. Liam's shorts were tiny, Lyn was mesmerized by the handsome and deformed hind which was masculine. The thighs were oiled and hairy free. Evelyn's lips were separated at this moment as if grasping for air until the goalie asked, "are you okay miss Wellington?" She looked at Liam's direction but before she could notice him Lyn distracted her, " it's nothing ma'am goalie, did you see the new sportswear, i like it?" The two ladies dashed to the bag.

Evelyn takes out a blue silky nightdress and dresses up her well oiled skin removing her blue drying towel.She looks happy upon doing so. She places her drying towel on a chair on the side of the bed then an ear to ear smile is drawn on Lyn's sunburnt skin.
"You seem to be in a mood ma'am, care to share the good news?" Muriel asks in anxiety.
" I made it in the first team hockey Murry, of course I am happy."
" Everyone knew that you would make it into the team, besides you were not even nervous about the trials so how come the whole thing is making you happy?"
" The new team members look committed, I am the new captain."
Lyn told Murry about the people who were selected for the team but for the boys team she left one member.
"Aren't they supposed to be players for the boys, l only heard " Murry complained.
" You're too observant, I literally left the player on purpose. I don't feel like telling you about him. You'll find out on your own." Lyn forced the words out of her mouth as she tucked herself into her blue linen.
"Why do I have a feeling that it is someone i do not like. Wait, the only possible candidate of my 'hatred' who you would not want to let me know is Liam. " Muriel rolled her eyes switching of the light.
" Oh you really hate him."
" I saw him with a hockey stick, but I did not think he could play."
" Because...?"
" Because I hate him thus do not expect anything good from him."
" Wow Muriel, so much hatred for someone you don't know."
" Well i know enough, he is good at causing trouble for everyone."
" Goodnight Murry!" She cut Muriel by announcing that she was sleeping.
Evelyn could not sleep. She kept on turning and tossing in the dark. Muriel was probably asleep by then. She reaches for her water bottle and took two gulps of water. Her throat felt relief as the cold water ran past it. She clossed her eyes to imagine to sleep. The first thing to appear in her imagination was the sweaty Liam who was fighting for first team. He looked like a machine, running fast and being accurate when passing the ball. He looked so cute, why would Murry hate him so much?
~~~
The place was not new. Yes, Murry was on the seafloor. She stared at the green seaweeds which followed the water currents going back and forth. She heard familiar voices from a distance. Lyn went in the direction of the voices until the conversation was clear.
" So what is the next step? " a hoarse voice questioned.
