Initial Investigation

Aeric As Astrid and I are walking down the sidewalk, I look over at her and see her ogling at everything. Especially the shops that we pass by. "Astrid, vi er ikke her for å handle." I said to her quietly. "Oh brother, if we are going to be here, we need to blend in. Which means that I can shop. We need to shop. Makes us look....normal." "Seriously Astrid? We are not normal and we are not here on vacation." I growled at her, obviously irritated. Of course, she just rolls her eyes at me and disappears into a*****e. While I waited for her, I sat down on a bench right outside the store. This town is so small, it's lucky to even be on a map. But for such a small town, there sure are a whole lot of stores. Surely a town this small doesn't need all these shops. Might be something to definitely check into. As I sit there and wait, I watch the people in the square walking around. With my Lycan hearing, I can hear what everyone is saying. Down an alley to my right, there are a few questionable people, well, actually a couple of werewolves. They are in the middle of a very heated discussion. As I was about to get up and walk in that direction, Astrid came walking out of the shop, a couple of bags on her arm. "Brother, where are you going?" she says with a scornful look on her face. "Bruk ørene Astrid. Det er noe mistenkelig som foregår nede i den bakgaten." giving her a look that I knew she knew the meaning of. Telling my sister to use her ears was the best thing I could think of in this particular situation. She falls into stride with me as we start down the sidewalk. As we get closer to the alley, the conversation between the wolves gets louder. "What are we doing here, Jordan? I am getting tired of just sitting around!" one of the wolves snaps at the one called Jordan. "Shut up Gabriel!! You never know who is around! You have a BIG and LOUD mouth. You know that we don't make a move without the boss's saying so. We are strictly to observe and report as of right now. We only take out the wolves that we are told to. Now shut up and go do your damn job!! Before I tell the boss that YOU are a threat to this mission," Jordan said to this fellow, Gabriel. Hmmm, interesting. Who are these two players? Who is their boss? What the hell is going on around here? When we got here, I thought this was just going to be a simple case of taking out a few wolves and putting things at peace. Well, now we have more questions than we started off with and absolutely ZERO answers. This is going to take much longer than I thought. Great. Winter My entire demeanor about me has changed since Daniel rejected me. How dare he threaten me? Just because he is the Alpha's son, doesn't mean he can actually do anything to me. Can he? Oh well. I know he has noticed a change in me since that day. Granted, it has only been a couple days. I know Kendra has my back, she won't tell anyone. Now, Valyrie, on the otherhand, I am not telling her anything. I love her to death, but she has a loud mouth. I just hope Kendra can find someone to train me soon. Before I get confronted by Daniel, or Cherry, or any of them in that group. They haven't picked on me since the other day. But they have been watching me. Closely. It kind of makes me a little uncomfortable, but I don't care anymore. They have tormented me long enough. I was getting sick of it, but that, Daniel's rejection, was the absolute icing on the cake. I swear on my parent's graves, that I will train and get stronger. As I am walking through town, I look around. I feel like I am being watched, but I can't see anyone looking at me. It is n eerie feeling. I walk past a couple talking. "There were some strange happenings out by the town line last night," the woman said to her husband. "How do you know that?" he replied. "My friend Regina told me. Remember, she is in the guard?" the lady said matter of factly. All of a sudden, it was like they noticed I had walked by and they got quiet and started whispering to each other. Unfortunately, I am used to that kind of behavior from people. Due to being an orphan and all. I wonder what the "happenings" were that the lady was talking about. Then again, for months now, strange things, like killings and disappearances, have been happening. At that moment, my phone rings. It's Kendra!! "Hey girl!! I've been waiting to hear from you. How's the mission coming along??" "Heya! It's going pretty well. I got in contact with a friend of mine. He is part of the rogue pack that we work with sometimes. His name is Brandon. I think you will like him," Kendra responded. "Great! When can we start?" I shrieked in excitement. "He can't start training you till Monday. But he told me to let you know that once you two start training, it will be every day." Monday. That is six days away. I guess it will have to do. At least Kendra found someone. Starting Monday, my life is going to start to change. I am excited!! My head starts to go a thousand miles a second. "Earth to Winter! You still with me here girl??" Kendra says in a sing-song voice. "Hey, yeah im here. Sorry. What did you say?" I said as I started to giggle. "I asked you what you are doing... good lord lady." "I am just walking around town. I have nothing better to do. What about you? What are you up to today? "Mom, has a list of chores for me to do. I'm halfway done. I can meet you when I get finished. If you want me to, that is," Kendra says. "That would be great! Text me when you are done and we will meet up!" "Ok!! See you soon!!" Kendra exclaimed and hung up. Kendra and I have so much to talk about. I can't wait to see her. Astrid Aeric and I just got done listening to a couple of wolves have what seemed like a "heated" argument. Who is the "boss" they were talking about?? Who are they observing? And why would they be told to take anyone out? Now we have lots more questions. And no answers. This is starting to become extremely frustrating. First, it was the little community that we have on our property. Now this. What's next? The apocalypse? I had to laugh at myself. If not, I would probably punch something. I notice that my brother is starting to walk away. "Hey brother, wait up!" I say as I had to jog a bit to catch up to him. Noticing the aggravated look on his face, I have to choose my words wisely, or he may snap my head clean off my shoulders. "What's going through your head? I see the smoke coming out of your ears." "We now have tons more questions than we do answers. I am starting to think that there is WAY more to this issue than father told us." he replied in an exasperated tone. "Well, maybe he didn't even know the extent of all of this." I said in a reassuring manor. "Maybe. But it is father we are speaking of. He knows more than he says or let's on." "Very true. Do you mind if I do a bit more shopping before we head back home?" "No, go ahead. I am just going to go over to the park and sit. Meet me over there when you are done. But, do not take forever sister." he says tiredly. "Ok! See you in a few!" I say as I take off towards another shop. I head towards an art shop. There are paintings in the windows as well as handmade jewelry. As I am about to walk into the store, I accidentally bump into someone. "Oh! Excuse me. I am sorry." she says. I look at her. She is very homely looking. Long, gorgeous hair. Even though I cannot tell what color it is. It changes color as the light hits it. She really is very pretty. But she is dressed in somewhat old ratty clothes that looked like they belonged to an old woman once upon a time. "It's ok! It was my fault. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going." I say, trying to be friendly. "Ok. Again, I am sorry." she replied quietly and then walked away. Poor girl. She acts like she is abused or mistreated. I wonder who she is. I will have to put that on my to-do list. I turn and walk into the shop. Now for decorations!!
