“Charcoal is nothing but a piece of vegetal coal”, he explained, “that you use rubbing it and with which you can also reach very intense shades of black. On the market there are round, squared or triangle charcoals, even if the last one is only used in scenographic contexts. Be careful when you’ll go to buy a charcoal in these days: it has to be soft, otherwise you’ll risk scoring the paper on which you’re drawing. In addition, there are clay pencils too, black ones, but also white, red…”
