Dad had just stepped away to grab a few documents when the heart monitor on my phone suddenly chimed.
My eyes immediately dropped to the screen.
Mirella was awake.
Every other thought disappeared.
Without waiting another second, I turned back toward my family.
“You’re all excused from my office.”
My voice was firm, leaving no room for discussion.
“Mirella just woke up.”
I was already making my way toward the door.
“And she needs me.”

Mom looked like she wanted to argue.
I didn’t give anyone the opportunity.
Opening the door, I walked out and quietly closed it behind me before heading straight toward my mate’s room.
