Taking a step back, I spoke just as his eyes slowly changed back to their normal brown color.
“Your eyes turned white…”
I frowned.
“Why?”
He blinked.
A small, sad smile crossed his face before he answered.
“Werewolves who belong to a pack can communicate through our minds.”
“When we do…”
“Our eyes turn white.”
He rubbed the back of his neck.
“In the books you read, the author calls it mind-linking.”
He smiled softly.
“That part is actually true.”
“But that’s not the only way we communicate.”
“We also communicate through our howls.”
“And by using wolf mannerisms that humans usually don’t notice.”
“They’re especially useful when we’re dealing with rogues.”
His explanation calmed me a little.
Even so…
