The Untouchable Aura

Chapter 8: The Untouchable Aura Jason sat silently in his usual seat at the back of the classroom, staring out the window as the soft hum of students’ chatter filled the room. It had been a few weeks since the end of the alien invasion nightmare, and though Jason’s life had returned to normal, he hadn’t. His body had transformed through months of training and battle; his mind was sharper, and his confidence was unshakable. He felt like a different person, stronger, more focused, and—above all—alone. Though Jason had never sought out friends, something had changed. The very aura he now exuded—his quiet strength, calm demeanor, and mysterious presence—was attracting attention. Students who had once ignored or bullied him now found themselves drawn to him. They whispered among themselves about the old Jason and marveled at the change. But Jason didn’t care. Sitting quietly at his desk, he overheard snippets of conversation about the meteorite crash, the same one that had set everything in motion. Kids who once mocked him now seemed fascinated by the event, but Jason kept his thoughts to himself. They had no idea what really happened. --- In class, Jason’s transformation wasn’t just physical. His newfound discipline made him more active in discussions, and his teachers took notice. His answers were sharp, precise, and insightful, a stark contrast to the shy, disengaged boy he used to be. Even his classmates whispered about him, stunned by how he had seemingly become one of the best students overnight. “Jason, excellent point,” his history teacher said, clearly impressed. “Keep it up.” Jason nodded in acknowledgment but said nothing. Praise didn’t faze him anymore. He had faced life-or-death situations and come out stronger; school felt insignificant in comparison. But while Jason wanted to keep to himself, his changed presence drew more attention than he cared for. --- By lunchtime, the quiet buzz around him had grown louder. Most notably, a group of girls, usually the center of attention themselves, had begun to take interest in him. And among them was Sophie, the most beautiful and popular girl in the class. Her light blonde hair cascaded in perfect waves, and her confident smile could charm anyone. Except Jason. Sophie had never paid much attention to Jason before, but now, his aura intrigued her. The way he carried himself with confidence, his indifference to the people around him—it was unlike anyone she knew. She decided she would approach him. As the next class began, Sophie entered and spotted Jason sitting alone, as usual. Gathering her confidence, she walked over and slid into the empty seat next to him. The eyes of the entire class followed her, curious about what would happen next. “Hey, Jason,” Sophie said, her voice friendly but laced with curiosity. Jason glanced at her briefly, his expression unreadable, then turned his gaze back to his notebook. Completely ignoring her. Sophie’s confident smile faltered. She had expected at least a polite response, but his indifference threw her off balance. Still, she kept her composure and tried again. “I’ve noticed you’ve changed a lot lately. It’s like you’re a different person,” she continued, trying to make conversation. “People are talking about you.” Jason didn’t respond, his pen moving methodically as he took notes. To him, her words were background noise. He had no interest in these trivial conversations. Before Sophie could press further, the bell rang, signaling the end of the class. Jason stood up, slinging his bag over his shoulder and walking out of the room without so much as a glance in her direction. Sophie sat there, stunned by his complete disregard for her, her mouth opening slightly as if to say something, but the words never came. Her friends, who had been watching the entire interaction, gathered around her as she stood up, clearly flustered. “What just happened?” one of them asked, half laughing. “Did he just ignore you?” Sophie shrugged, trying to keep her cool, but it was clear that Jason’s indifference had stung. She wasn’t used to being ignored, especially not by someone like him. “Maybe he’s just shy,” Sophie said, though even she didn’t fully believe it. Her friend smirked. “Or maybe he’s not interested in you.” She playfully nudged Sophie. “I bet you can’t get him to be your friend.” Sophie’s competitive nature flared at the challenge. “Oh, he’ll be my friend,” she said, more to herself than to anyone else. “Just watch.” --- The day wore on, and Jason remained as distant as ever, his mind focused on something far removed from school life. He didn’t care about the attention he was receiving. It was nothing compared to the horrors he had faced in the time loop. All he wanted was to move through life without any unnecessary distractions. By the time the last class—P.E.—came around, Jason’s name had been on everyone’s lips. The boys were growing curious, and the girls couldn’t stop whispering about him. But Jason kept his cool, heading to the sports field like it was just another day. The gym teacher had organized a football game, and Jason was placed on one of the teams. Normally, he would’ve played with minimal interest, but today, something inside him wanted to push himself further. The field was packed with energy as the game began, and Jason quickly stood out. His reflexes, honed from his training in the loop, were sharp, and his movements fluid. He scored the first goal within minutes, leaving the defenders stunned. The second goal came not long after, and soon, Jason had the entire field captivated. Even Sophie and her friends, who were sitting on the sidelines, found themselves watching Jason, their eyes wide with awe. As the game drew to an end, Jason’s team secured a decisive victory, thanks to his skill. He had scored multiple goals, each one more impressive than the last. And as the final whistle blew, Jason, caught up in the excitement of the win, pulled off his shirt and tossed it aside without thinking. The entire field seemed to freeze. The girls on the sidelines, including Sophie, stared, their jaws dropping in unison. Jason’s body, honed from months of intense training, was chiseled, muscular, and far from what anyone had expected. His quiet demeanor and mysterious nature had hidden the fact that he had become a physical specimen far beyond anyone at the school. There was a moment of stunned silence as Jason walked off the field, still unaware of the surrounding reactions. Everyone looked at him in awe and," after all this, Jason is not an ordinary student in front of everyone there." --- End of Chapter 8 to be continued ....
