19 Feathered Spirits ‘Wake up. Wake up Teya.’ Teya jolted awake. The room was pitch-black, but even so, she instantly knew it was Coco leaning over her, inches from her face. ‘What? What happened? Are you alright?’ Teya pushed herself onto her elbow and peered around the room. The fire had guttered out, which meant it was probably somewhere between midnight and very early morning. ‘We need to go. Here, take your cloak.’ Coco grabbed Teya’s hand, pulled her to her feet and led her silently through the sleep pallets that patchworked the floor.
