A normal day in the city was an aromatic smell of coffee that filled the bustling roads along with different kinds of people running or speedily walking down the streets to go to work. And of course, a hero fighting off a villain in the middle of a street.
With loud clamoring feet and violent snarls, the villain appeared to have short scaley legs with steel-like claws, webbed feet, and a rather off-putting appearance that resembled a lizard's. The part of the street was temporarily being closed off by police officers surrounding the area with tape and shields to avoid spectators from interfering with the fight. On the other side of the closed off-road was a hero known for her bubbly attitude and strong physique, hero name: Yura. Yura has the ability to stretch parts of her body whilst maintaining her muscly figure that added strength to her grip.
The hero was softly panting after having clashed with the villain, now standing again, she lunged for an attack which the lizard tried to meet with a right hook only for her to dodge it by bending her knees and lowering her back, that then gave her the chance to hold onto the lizard's neck as she swiftly slid her left leg onto its short legs and then stretching her arms trapping the reptile by encircling her arms around from its neck down to its feet like a snake. Adding her strong grip, the lizard felt his bones slowly being crushed now then submitted and admitted defeat.
Cheers erupted from the crowd of spectators, calling out her name and giving compliments.
Yura on the other hand was worried about other important matters, waving a small goodbye to her fans, she ran into the nearest dark ally changing into her school uniform and ran fast in hopes she wasn't late for class. Again.
The bell rings and the students went off to buy lunch.
"I see you were late again, Miss...Yura." The teacher says stopping Yura in her tracks, she had noticed her student crawling behind the chairs in the middle of class, thinking she wouldn't get caught.
"Sorry, Ma'am. There was a villain and I-uh..." the girl trails off as she scratches the back of her neck.
The teacher sighs. "Miss Yura, how many times do I have to remind you. You are still a student, despite having a reputation. You can still get in trouble if you are not careful enough."
"But Ma'am, I'm already taking my hero courses, and I have a license too-". "Ehem. A "student's" license." the teacher cuts off. The girl continues. "Which means I can still fight! As a hero it is my duty to protect the citizens, I couldn't just leave such a situation behind."
"Miss Yura. You taking the course and having a license does not mean you can go and fight any villain you cross paths with any time you want to. Again, you are still a student. There are professional heroes that can handle the situation. Right now, what you should be concerned with is yourself."
Yura huffs out a large breath. Her teacher had a point. But still, she didn't think it would have been good to leave such a mess behind and wait for other heroes to come.
"Yura..." The teacher adjusts her glasses. "Believe me, there are still a lot of things you need to do and accomplish. Do not rush things. Reality is not always just fighting villains and saving people. There are people who can do that in your place. Right now, focus on shaping yourself. And be mindful you may not only endanger yourself but also burden others."
The day flew by in a jiff, Yura had a newfound motivation. She wanted to prove to her teacher that she could balance her hero life and her student life. Not knowing where to begin she devises a plan that would take action tomorrow.
The following day, Yura sets off to find herself a villain. Walking down her everyday path, an alarm sets off and out of a convenience store comes running a man with a bag with a large amount of money in tow.
Well, that was easy. Yura thinks as she cracks her joints and goes into position. She runs after the man.
It seems as if the man was quick on his feet. Hm, maybe he has a speed related quirk? She starts picking up her pace, the man probably noticed her by now as he also quickened his pace. Pushing everyone standing on his way, Yura still hot on his tracks. Now starting to try and hold her off by pulling down random things and blocking her path which she easily jumped over on. Maybe his quirk isn't that developed yet. Yura wanted to observe the man further but then the man was entering a dark ally in attempt to make the hero lose sight of him once and for all, Yura now worried she might lose him stretches out her arms in an attempt to hold onto the guy when all of a sudden the man stops. Yura confused trips and lands on her face.
"What the- Why'd you stop-...running." In front of the man stood a tall ominous figure. Yura squinted her eyes, now noticing the man that she had been trying to catch was slowly getting disintegrated.
"W-What..." she stutters as the man's clothes hit the ground along with the bag of money. The tall figure then proceeds to wear a pair of gloves, taking the bag of money. He stops taking a glimpse at the trembling girl. Slowly walking towards her, a hint of light subtly shines on his face. He had dark hair and dead-looking eyes, dressed in dark clothes camouflaging with the dark.
Yura couldn't move, she was stuck in her place. The man looked down on her for a second and proceeded to disappear into the darkness.
As if in a trance, Yura snaps and comes back to her senses, still shaking. She looked at her watch. She was late for class. Again.
