Amara’s scream echoed in the void as she plummeted, the darkness around her folding in like suffocating waves. The light she had summoned flickered feebly, the Abyss devouring its brilliance. She reached for something, anything, to stop her descent, but there was nothing. Her hands clawed at the air, her breaths shallow as panic took hold. She didn’t know how long she fell—time had no meaning here. Just as her heart began to falter, her body collided with cold, unyielding ground. Pain shot through her limbs, but she was alive. Gasping for breath, she forced herself to sit up, her light flaring weakly around her. The world had changed again.
