Aiden is seen waiting outside our classroom with his friends casually talking about something. I can see some of the girls staring through the glass window of our classroom. They're probably in King Aiden's fan club that he regularly invites to his place for an annual party. That's only one of the reasons why they love him. But he never interacts with them during these parties. He has a chosen few where he takes photos with them so they can boast about it on social media.
Watching him from afar, I understand that he's insanely attractive. But the closer I get, the more he loses his charms for me. Aiden is a self-centered person. That's who he is. People are just blinded by this fact since half of them want to be f****d by him. Or they're after his wealth. He is soon to be the CEO of K Corp. A global company his entire family owns. Other than that, he has no other fascinating thing about him.
"Cyra," I heard him from the corner. I turn around to face him with an unpleasant look. I am not fond of this person. His interaction with me is another one of my foot in the grave. "Are you free this evening? My brother is awake and would want to see you," he said.
"I don't think that's necessary," I refused.
"Do you not want to check on my brother how he's doing?"
"My cousin gives me updates about his condition. He's checking up on him now and then. I don't need to check up on him since I already know how he's doing."
Aiden's lips curve down but he tries to hide it with an awkward smile and a chuckle. I know he's not happy, but I have no reason to go with him to the hospital at all. Refusing his offer is enough for me already. I said goodbye to him and then rushed into my classroom to avoid him. When I get to my seat, Julia, my friend, rushes to my table and crouches down next to me.
"What was that? Why was the king talking to you?" she asked me with excitement.
"He wanted me to go to the hospital with him to check up on Ethan. But I said no since I already know how he's doing."
"What? Why do you not want to go with him?" she asked.
"Because nothing good comes out of hanging out with people like them, Julia. Do you not understand that? They're dangerous. If you want to get caught up in their mess, be my guest. That's your problem."
Every word I said probably hurt her. However, I did not like the fact that she was so happy about me interacting with the Elites from the senior high school department. I already had people glaring at me with daggering eyes and I did not like it one bit. I put my headphones on and put the music on max before going through my notes for today's lesson.
In the middle of lectures, the chairman walks in with a new student walking behind him. He's a tall guy with shaggy curly black hair and bright green eyes. The chairman introduces him to the class and then puts him on the seat at the far back in the corner. He skips the introduction and then goes to his seat in silence.
The girls are already losing their minds. He's a handsome fellow. But he looks detached, uninterested, and mostly bored. I glance at him from over my shoulder wondering why he transferred so late into the semester. Whatever the reason, it's either he was forced to transfer or he enrolled late into the school year.
During the break, the girls gather around him. He looks intrigued at first, but later on gets bored with their company. Julia and I stared at him from her seat and started guessing things about him. Usually, they're the wild child or the problematic one. Well, he can be both. But he doesn't seem to be that bad at all. Julia also seems interested in the person.
"So, what do you think his deal is?" she asked.
"I don't know. I guess he transferred here because of a terrible school record from the previous one. That's the only thing I can think about," I told her.
"Do you think he's cute? Because for me, he is dead handsome!" she said with a wide smile.
"I guess he's alright. Are you going to try to get with him?" I asked her.
"Maybe. Do you think he has a girlfriend?"
"I don't know. Maybe? It would be weird if he was single for someone who looks like him."
Lucian suddenly stands up and then walks out of the classroom. Some of the girls follow him outside. Julia suddenly jumps out of her seat and follows the lot outside the classroom. I follow behind her, walking while keeping a good distance. When we reach the cafeteria area, some of the other girls start to huddle around him.
I stand by the door watching Julia trying to catch his attention behind all the girls. When he turns around, his eyes suddenly land on mine. He pauses like he's seen a ghost and then walks towards me with his eyes locked into mine. The girls stand behind him and stare at both of us.
"Cyra, right?" he asked me.
"Yeah. How do you know me?"
"I saw you before. Anyway, nice meeting ya."
With that, he left me with a group of angry girls. Julia suddenly grabs my hand and then rushes me out of the cafeteria running after Lucian. Lucian turns around and stares at us. Julia invites him to hang out with us later after school. He weirdly accepts our offer and then walks away.
"Oh my gosh! He just said yes! We're going to the arcade later and then karaoke. Come on, let's go!"
Julia is excited about this. When we got back to our classroom. When we got there, we saw Lucian and Aiden standing in the hallway facing each other. Aiden then walks away first before Lucian walks back into our classroom. Julia and I enter after him. When I turned my head to look at him, he did not look happy at all. Whatever it was that happened back there, neither of them were happy to see each other.
