It's been exactly a month since I started living with Shawn. Honestly, now I miss Dad more than I miss Seychelles. Though the house was cool and peaceful, I didn't like it here. They were not the people I grew with, they were not my people.
The workers were so helpful that they could almost tell me they would bathe me. They did everything I needed from them, including my manicure. I hadn't stepped foot on the roads, the farthest place I went was the garden at the yard which had a swing where I loved to read some lovely romance novels.
I hadn't gotten a phone yet because Shawn didn't allow it and I was sick of it. I hadn't talked to my Father in a month, nor my best friend, how was I supposed to survive with….. No one. I literally had no one around because Shawn himself would always go on meetings and arrive late and tired. Even if he wasn't tired, what did I expect from him? To play tag with me?!
Even the most mature games, I wouldn't play them with him, he was too cold and his oppressive aura was really annoying.
Miranda had been trying to rival me more but I didn't care anymore, I just let anything she does slide.
It was another wonderful afternoon again and as usual, I was sitting in the garden but under a tree this time and not on the swing. I had reached the last page of my present book and goddamn it, it was so f*****g emotional. The way he kissed her under the rain was an amazing feeling and I wondered if I could ever find someone to do that with but I didn't know my fate yet, I was either stuck here forever or…. or…. I didn't know, I wasn't planning to overthink things so I solemnly called out the last line of the book.
“Yes!!” That was the last line where she agreed to marry him. It was quite a great book with twists and turns, I didn't believe Shawn had this on his shelf. The book was so engaging, I came 897 pages only to come to read ‘yes’.
I closed the book and placed it on the grass. I sighed as I remembered how the last 30 days had been for me. I wanted to be so clingy so he would be frustrated and return me back home but he hadn't even noticed me enough.
He leaves me only one choice- seduction.
No, no. That was too ridiculous.
I went back to the building and went to the kitchen where I met Gianni, the butler.
“Good day, ma'am.” He greeted me.
It was a norm for me to be treated as a Queen since I arrived, they believed I was Shawn's fiance.
“Hey,” I replied, waving my hand though he was standing in front of me.
That was the first time I entered the kitchen, I was never allowed in, the housekeepers would always do whatever I wanted to, for me.
“Ma'am, I mean no disrespect but you know you're not allowed in here. You can call any of the housekeepers or Annie or myself to help with whatever you want.” He said.
I pulled up my Caribbean skirt with one of my hands as I chuckled sweetly.
“Come on, Gianni. I do not need anyone's help. I'm able. I can do things myself. I just wanna make Shawn dinner before he arrives,” I said.
His eyes widened, “Dinner? But that's by 7pm.”
“I know. I just want to be quite early because there are other things I have to do before he arrives. Also, taking four hours to make the feast you bring on our table is worth the time, okay?”.
“Come on, miss.” He smiled.
I rolled my eyes, “Just let me do my thing,” I said.
“No, the chefs will.”,
“They can assist me. Just allow me.” I insisted.
“Okay ma'am. If you say so then” He said before turning to the chefs in the kitchen who were already getting ready to make tonight's dinner, he then spoke, “Chefs!” He called.
They quickly left what they were doing and turned to face him. I didn’t believe such fear and respect and coordination existed, I could almost say it was staged.
“Yes, Mr Gianni!” They chorused.
“Miss wants to make dinner with you so trash those things you're doing and let her tell you what she wants you to make for dinner.”
“But, Mr Gianni. Boss already ordered us to never break the rooster.” One of them interjected.
I then interfered, “It's fine. I understand you. I'll take the blame for whatever happens, do not panic, okay?” I said and he nodded.
“So, miss, what would you like to make with them?” Gianni asked.
I thought his favourite dish would do the trick but I didn't know what his favourite dish was so I kindly asked them.
“Pan seared steak with roasted vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes!” One of them replied and I nodded. That was a perfect meal to make.
“Yeah, that's the one, ” I pointed out, as if I knew what his favourite meal was before. “That's the one we're making.” I added.
They all nodded and came together to the large kitchen island. I watched as they split themselves into groups, let's not talk about the corporation.
They put themselves into 3 groups, three chefs on each side; one group was to make pan seared steak, the other ones were to make roasted vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes respectively.
Two hours went by before we were done and I needed to dress up nicely.
I went upstairs to my room and changed into a turquoise short gown that kissed my curves perfectly. I decided to use a pair of turquoise flip flops I found on the shoe rack, I didn't have time for heels. Accompanying those with a necklace and a few fancy bracelets I found inside the walk-in closet.
