Chapter 4: Basketball court

Anna Pov
My last period ended with ease and I went to basketball court knowing I will find Leo there. When I reached their Leo was in court practicing with his team. He is the captain of school’s basketball team.
Seeing him practicing I remembered the days of our childhood when he tried to teach I how to play basketball and I end up spraining my ankle. I cried a lot and he brought me our favorite ice-cream to make me stop crying. He even said he will not play basketball from now on and my dad had to convince him to continue his practices.
I was remembering that day smiling when someone came and sat beside me tapping my shoulder. I thought it was Leo because there team was not in court anymore. I turned saying “Hay, how was your…” I stopped midsentence when I saw it was someone else. “Sorry, I thought of you someone else” I apologized.
“That’s ok. The mistake was mine too. Well my name is Tom William. I am new here.” He introduced himself raising his hand for handshake.
“My name is Anna. Nice to meet you.” I replied shaking his hand politely.
“Beautiful name for beautiful girl and polite too. Hard to find the combination in other girls in this school. You are something different.” He complimented me.
“Thank you.” I replied feeling awkward. At the same time I heard the voice of Leo calling for me.
“I think it’s time for you to go. Will see you tomorrow” He said and went away.
I walk back to Leo.
“Who was he?” Leo asked raising his eyebrow.
“Don’t know. Someone new here.” I answered with a shrug.
We talked about his basketball practice while walking back to the car.
“What were you smiling at the time of practice?” he asked me giving me a glance.
“I was remembering the day you were trying to teach me basketball” I replied again smiling at our little memory.
“I remember. Dad had the hard time convincing me to continue playing” he said with a distant look on his face with a smile. My parents were like other parents for Leo. Same was for me with his parents.
