Chapter 11: Saving Anna

Finally our team won the game. Anna was so happy. She came running and hugged me. It was a bit shaking because she doesn’t like this type of behavior in school.

Today after party was in club. I knew that Anna will not be going there. And I wanted to celebrate my victory with her but I needed to go because of being the caption of team. So I pursued her and she agreed to come with me to the party.

Now I was ready waiting for her to come out of her room. I knocked on her door. When she came out of her room it was like a dream. She was looking gorgeous like an angel. I complemented her and told her to be my date today. I saw her flushed face which she tried to hide but failed miserably and smiled.  I don’t want any man near her. Her sweet and innocent nature makes me hell worried.

We reached the club and I took Anna to a stool and made her sit on it. I ordered two moctails for us. We were dancing, laughing , talking and enjoying ourselves. My friends were coming greeting us talking. They were all looking at Anna and complimenting her who was making me feel jealous and possessive. I don’t know what this feeling is.

“Hay dude, coach is looking for you” one of my teammates came and informed me.

I looked at Anna. I didn’t wanted to leave her alone. But she assured me that I should go she will be fine.

“Ok. I will be back soon. Call me if you need me here” I said while giving a squeeze to her shoulder. I don’t know I was trying to assure her or myself.

I saw her sitting on a stool and went to meet my coach. He was praising us for our game. I don’t know why but I wanted  to go to Anna, I was feeling something weird.

“Hey dude. Thinking about Anna?” my teammate asked.

“Ya dude. I don’t know why but I have a feeling that something is not right?” I replied.

“You are worried without….” he was interrupted with the ring of my phone.

I looked at my mobile to see Anna’s pic flashing on it. I received the call and said hello but got no reply. ‘This is weird’. Sometime later I heard a male voice and a muffled voice and got panicked. My friends looked at my face and got alert.

I heard Anna’s voice saying “leave me”. I cursed myself for leaving her alone. ‘I shouldn’t have left her alone’ I thought. And went to find Anna. My friends came with me. They know how important Anna is for me.

When I found her, I saw a guy trying to have his way with my Anna. I heard her calling my name asking me for help. It was like something snapped in me, I felt so enraged. I pushed that guy away from her punching him. My friends came and hold that guy.

I went to Anna and saw tears on her cheek. She was looking drugged.

I hugged her and whispered soothing words in her ear. First she struggled in my arms but later relaxed in my arms and after some time. She whispered my name in that condition like she knows it’s me and went limp.

I picked her up kicking that guy in gut, telling my friends to handle the situation. I went out of club and took her home. I layer her down on her bed and covered her with her blanket. I sat on the chair in her room staring at her. I don’t have the courage to leave her alone.

This incident made me realize that everyone was always right I have feelings for my best friend.

“I love Anna” I repeated to myself smiling.
