Chapter 6: Hidden feelings

I was playing basketball when I saw Anna entering and sitting on a seat. I love this girl, I don’t like when people bully her. I don’t get it why she does not stand up for herself. But I don’t mind because she has me to protect her.

After sometime when the practice ended. I looked in her direction; she was deep in her thoughts and smiling. I love her smile; it’s like sunshine for me. I would do anything for her if it will bring that smile on her face.

I went in the direction of locker room. When I came back out a guy was talking to her. I was not getting good vibes from him. Then I looked at Anna, she was looking somewhat uncomfortable. I thought of going there but that will make Anna feel more awkward. Finally, I decided to call her.

“Anna” I called her.

She turned and smiled when she looked at me. I was happy to see how her body relaxed immediately.

“Who was he?” I asked her once she was beside me.

“Don’t know. Someone new here.” She answered immediately.

I wanted to ask her why she was to uncomfortable back there with him. I wanted to know if he said something which made her feel that way. But I didn’t knowing she would have told me herself.

Today was weekend and we were preparing for our little movie night. We went to prepare popcorn in kitchen and I wanted to tease her. I picked her up and sat her on kitchen counter. A cute screech like sound came out of her mouth causing me to laugh out loud.

We were watching a horror movie. And she was sitting so close to me hiding her face in my arm. She doesn’t have to be scared of anything, she can always come to me and I will protect her from anything or anyone. I advice her to change the movie but she said that she wants to see the end. That’s how she is stubborn. If she decided something you can’t change her mind.

I was smiling remembering her stubborn nature since our childhood when I heard soft breathing and saw how she fell asleep on my lap. I smiled at her and removed the hair covering her face careful not to wake her up.

I picked her up in my arms and took her to her room laying her down on her bed and covering her with blanket.

“Good night, sweet dreams” I whispered kissing her forehead softly. I saw her smile in her sleep and went to my room to sleep with her dreams.
