Makisig

A loud voice suddenly echoed throughout the forest, and It was coming from behind us. Large vines suddenly erupted from the ground, binding the spiders. "I command thee, fragments of memories, return to thy place!" The monsters struggled to get out, but they were rooted tightly by the vibes. Then, a magic circle appeared beneath them, and they vanished in thin air without leaving a trace. The stone that I saw earlier appeared in front of us again, and it broke in half. Everyone was shocked by what they saw. "Is that the stone that you are referring to earlier, Yari?" Apo asked. "Yes, that's it." After that, the stone vanished as well, leaving no remains. Before I forgot, I looked behind us and checked on the person who helped us. A man was standing, and his height was taller than usual. I guess he is over six feet. For his appearance, he resembles the Dalaketnons that we saw from the Pine Lagoon, but he was more elegant. The clothes were made with silk too, but embroidered with flowers and precious stones like emeralds. A golden scarf was wrapped around his neck, and his abdomen was exposed like he was wearing some sort of crop top. What was more surprising was his face. He looked so attractive, and his face was like a model. His nose and lips were in perfect shape. I looked at the other, but they were in awe because of the beautiful definition in front of us. What caught my attention was his gigantic wings that looked like a butterfly, and golden dust was glittering from it. "Who are you?" I asked, "I'm sorry if I did not introduce myself, Chosen of the Moon. I am the guardian of this forest, and my name is Makisig. I came from the lineage of the Diwata." He said and bowed his head towards me. A diwata? "Uhm, excuse me. Please don't bow at us. We should be the ones who should do that since you saved us." I said. Everyone nodded in agreement. "Again, we would like to thank you for saving us., but can you please tell us if what was those monsters earlier and the weird stone that we saw?" I said. "If it's okay, can I invite you to my place first so that all of you can rest?" Makisig offered. I looked at everyone asking if it was okay, and they agreed. Makisig smiled at us. "Follow me." He said. I moved to Baku and asked him if he knew anything about this. He just shook his head and said no. He has some knowledge of their race, but he never encountered this even though he lived for a long time. Makisig summoned a portal in front of us, and again, everyone was surprised by what they saw. He waved his hand, signaling us to enter the portal, and we followed him inside the doorway. We were transported inside Makisig's house. It was like our house in Bulan. The walls were made with bamboo and coconut lumber. The roof was made from the leaves of a coconut tree, weaved together tightly so that heat and rain cannot pass. The interior was simple as well, and we can feel the breeze passing through the walls. The scent of flowers and fresh leaves entered my nose. It was soothing. The aura coming from Makisig, despite his appearance, was so gentle and kind. "Please have a seat." He pointed at the bamboo chairs. "Thank you," Ester answered, and all of us sat down. Everyone was looking at the Diwata in front of us. From the natural world that I came from, there was also a tale revolving about nature's guardians, and they were called in the same name as their race here in Orient Seas. Usually, it was depicted that a Diwata was a wonderful woman, but I guess it was the opposite here. "Again, let me introduce myself. I am Makisig, and I'm a Diwata from the tribe of Morning Dew. We, our race, usually live together, but some of us hid in unknown places due to unfortunate events. In my case, our tribe was annihilated by the evil forces, and I am the only remaining survivor." Makisig said and looked at us. "I'm sorry to hear that, but again, I would like to thank you for saving us from those monsters," I said and bowed my head. The others did the same too. "Your welcome, Chosen of the Moon." He said and smiled. Makisig stood up and picked up some glass and a pitcher. He poured the water into the glasses, and the aroma coming from it was so sweet. He told us to drink first, and to my surprise, the flavor was sweet. I thought it was just ordinary water. Makisig said to us that it came from nectars of the flowers, that's why the taste is different from regular water. After everyone introduced themselves to Makisig, Apo asked him about the monsters that we encountered. "The monsters that you fought earlier were Memory Fragments from this forest." "Memory Fragments?" Anan aked. "Those places that suffered from trauma from unfortunate incidents generate this type of phenomenon. They were usually souls that did not favor the way of their death or wanted revenge." "You mean like vengeful spirits," I asked. "That's right, I guess you know about a lot of things. Impressive." Makisig smiled. "Okay, now I remember. I heard from one of my friends from the realm that the Diwata were hunted by the evil force, and if I remember it correctly, your tribe was one of those who perished." Baku said. "That's right, Moon Dragon," Makisig said. "But why am I the only one who saw the stone earlier?" I asked. "The density of your spiritual energy was great and stable. That's why I sensed those souls entrapped in the Stone of Memories. You can consider them ominous auras since they want to take revenge on what happened to them." Makisig explained. "But they were your old companions, right?" Ester said. "That's right, little girl." "Thank you for explaining things to us, Makisig," I said. Makisig just smiled in response. He did not talk for some minutes, then sighed. "Actually, I have a request for you, Chosen of the Moon." "A request?" I asked. "Yes, that's right. I would like to ask if you can help me subdue those remaining Memory Fragments here in the forest. It will be dangerous for the travelers if they accidentally encounter one. I wanted to do this before, but I don't have enough power now. So, if it's okay?" Makisig said. "Of course, I will be more willing to help you since you saved us earlier. So what am I going to do?" "You need to purify them." Purify?
