"How can I do that?" I asked, confused.
"If you remember, Mayari is also the Goddess of the Underworld. I believe the Moon Dragon told you already about that." Makisig said.
"Yes, Baku did tell me, but regarding this, I have not trained on purifying, nor did I have knowledge on doing so," I said.
"You can ask Moon Dragon for the incantation."
I looked at Baku, and he just nodded his head. I can feel that he purposely did not tell me about this purification process.
Makisig stood up and said that he will check around the area to gather some fruits. We were left at the table, silent from everything that we just heard. I can feel everyone's confusion.
"Baku, why did you not tell me that I have the ability to purify?"
"It's too risky for you to learn it," Baku said.
"But why?"
"You need to open the portal to the underworld, and your level, even if you have stabilized your spiritual energy, will cause a lot of damage in your body," Baku explained.
"Thank you for telling me, but I want to help those souls to pass through the underworld," I said.
This is a new challenge that I must face, and I am willing to accept and overcome. After hearing what Makisig, I felt sad about those innocent lives taken away by the evil forces' greed. Also, since I am the successor, I believe this is one of my responsibilities.
"Okay, Ayari. I understand your intent to help those in need but think about yourself first. We don't know what the outcome will be." Baku said, worried.
"Just trust me, Baku. I still want to learn about this to fulfill my role as the Moon's Chosen. I know I might sound stubborn now, but please, help me. I know that we can overcome this if we worked together." I explained.
Baku just stayed silent after I said that. I looked at my siblings, and I saw their worried expressions too. Apo rubbed my back to comfort me. I know I sound selfish and careless now, but I want to do everything I can to help everyone. This is my only way to show my gratitude since I was given another chance to live.
"Ayari is right, Baku. We all know that being one of the chosen warriors has responsibilities, and we are willing to learn, to give back what we receive." Ani said, smiling.
"I agree with Big Sister Ani. We want to help everyone with what we have and what we can do." Ester said, looking at Baku.
Baku looked at us and scratched his head. Everyone lightened up and laughed at what he did.
"Okay, as if there's nothing I can do to stop you guys."
"Thank you, Baku. So tell us how to do this purification thing." I said.
"Do you remember the scroll that was given to you by the Deities?"
'Yes, of course." I answered and pulled out the scroll from the Dimensional Storage.
"Okay, now infuse some of your spiritual energy towards the scroll, and it will react to you," Baku said.
I did what Baku told me to do. I let my spiritual energy flow towards the scroll. When I receive this, there was nothing written on the paper.
As soon as the energy gathered on the scroll, ancient text appeared.
"Through moonlight, thy souls reach their destination. Open thy path by your heart and conviction. On the night of the Full Moon, the Luminary shall give judgment to those souls."
As soon as I finished the passage, a silver orb appeared mid-air. It was radiating light energy. I grabbed the sphere, and it reacted with my spiritual power. It glowed brightly, and then images of the moon appeared in the room. I also saw a sea and a boat.
The light disappeared after that vision that we saw.
"What was that?" I asked.
"What we saw there is the passage to the underworld," Baku said.
"So what should I do, and how will I open the gate to the underworld?"
"The orb that you saw was one of the sacred relics that Mayari owns. It's the key towards the Mundong Ilalim. Ayari, you will serve as the link to the living and the dead and guide them to the sea of torments to reach their destination." Baku said.
"I'm going to be the link, so I need to travel with the souls towards the underworld?"
"Yes, that's right. Also, you will be the one judging the dead if where they will go. You will decide if the souls will go to paradise or to the sea of suffering."
"Okay, I get it. Now I understand why you don't want me to do that. Mayari must have a hard time doing so." I said.
"Yes, and you need to keep the connection open on the living world and the passage. If not, you will be trapped in there forever." Baku explained.
I somehow felt nervous and worried after hearing that. What if I fail?
'Are you sure about this?" Apo asked.
It took me a while before I can answer him.
"Of course, there's no turning back now."
"Don't worry, Big Brother, we will do anything that can help you," Anan said.
"Thank you, guys. I know we will be successful with this one as long as we help each other." I said.
Baku told me that the next full moon will appear in two days. During that time, I need to meditate and increase my spiritual capacity to not suffocate from the air exposure in the Underworld. It will also be an opportunity for the other chosen warriors to meditate too.
After discussing the things that we need to prepare, Makisig went back carrying his harvest. The girls helped him and told Makisig that they will prepare the food instead. Baku and the rest decided to stay in their rooms that Makisig offered.
I was left alone with Makisig at the table. I am still thinking about the Purification Rites that I will perform. Makisig suddenly spoke.
"Thank you, Chosen of the Moon, for your help. I don't know if how can I repay you."
"It's okay, Makisig. I really wanted to help you in the first place after hearing your story. Is it okay if you can tell me what really happened with your tribe?"
"Sure, I'll tell you."
