Back at Cordilleras

1751 Words
Lobo was a beast who hunted the land of the cordilleras. Transformed by agonizing process from the heralds of evil, his body was filled with rage and an ominous aura. Bursting out of the shadows, he preyed upon those creatures who lived peacefully at Pin-atubo.  Memories flashed in the beast memories, remembering how the cordilleras were abundant with life. He recalled that everyone was happy living their life and asking him for his guidance. One day, those very people he trusted began to betray, taking what was necessary for their needs. Lobo loved the people so much that he just allowed them to do what they want.  His world a haze of pain, Lobo could not recall how he fell into the people's trap, killing his very own offspring.  When the Heralds of darkness attacked Pin-atubo, he succumbed to their temptation allowing them to control him. He'd already forgotten his. He sensed that it was for the best to take back what he gave.  Pain and anger soon overwhelmed all other thoughts. Blood was the only thing left.  Lobo awoke to hunger. Everything hurt, and Only one thing mattered. He set up a den in the heart of the Cordilleras. There, he continued the s*******r, not caring who fell to his claws. So long as blood dripped from gnashing teeth, he would feel nothing but a smear of red on his conscience, but only satisfaction taking revenge on the people who had hurt him.  ------- Makisig's Place, Forest of Retribution "Is Apo still not back? It's been two days. He should have returned by now." Baku said.  "No, he is not back yet. Maybe he decided to look for Ayari's whereabouts before going back here." Ani said.  "That might be the case, but I don't know. I have a bad feeling," Ester said.  "Let's trust Apo. I know he will come back at us. So don't worry, sis." Anan said. "Guys, I think I already found where Ayari's location was," Saldang said.  "How did you do that?" Anan asked, looking excited after hearing the news.  "I was able to whisper in the wind, and they gave me a favorable response. I have a friend that lives there and confirmed that they saw Ayari in Pinatubo." Saldang said.  "Is that true? We need to pick up brother as soon as we can. Ester said.  "As much as I wanted to do that, but my companion there warned me that Pin-atubo was infested by an evil beast, which will be very dangerous for us if we go there. Also, there is only one ship that we can use to travel towards there, but they have suspended their service because of the situation at Pin-atubo. "Saldang said.  "Is there any other way we can do to reach the island as soon as we can," Ani asked.  "Unfortunately, the ship is only our option to go there. I know Ayari will find ways, so let's trust him." Saldang said.  ----- "So, have you already come up with a plan to fight the enemies?" Ingo asked.  "I'm still thinking about something. You know what, after the last battle that I had with the Herald of Darkness, I realized that I should be more cautious of my actions. Being overconfident made fall into the abyss." I said.  "I see. I understand what you are pointing out, Ayari. If I were you, I would plan this properly. We know how vicious the enemy is this time." Ingo said.  I agree with everything that he said. We need to correctly plot things before face in the b battle. I don't want anyone of us to get hurt again when fighting the enemy. What bothers me the most is the information that the citizens of the forest gave me. Based on the fact that they have provided me, I noticed a pattern with the servants. I can sense that they are also preparing for a trap for those planning to attack them.  There were a lot of things going on in my mind right now. I don't know why but I suddenly felt anxious about how I will deal with the enemies. Maybe I can try and change the order on attacking them.   What's weird was that when I went to the mass of the eagle's nest, the loud sound that it gave off was some sort of a warning. It also felt like it was calling for a backup. The smaller creatures responded to his call, but I noticed that there was also a vast ominous aura that was reading towards my direction that time during the time that I was trying to get away from them.  I was not sure if what that was, but for one thing, I feel that it is one of the servants of the beast. I did not tell Ingo about this because he might be worried again and try to convince me to join me in the battle.  After some time thinking and talking with him, I decided to go to where Makiling was.  As usual, I knocked on the door and waited for her response. After a few moments, I heard her voice telling me to enter the room. This time the room gave off the scent of roses. The smell hit my body differently, calming my thoughts. This time, I noticed that there are many creatures in her room, and the last time I went there, talking with her. . I walk towards her to cheer. She pointed out and sat down there.  Today was a bit different because after sitting down, the animals began to gather around me. They were wishing to talk with me, but I told them that I will do so if I have free time. I told them that I will be talking about something important with Makiling, and I promised them that If I have time, I will listen to what they want to talk about.  The animals agreed with my offer, and one by one, they bid goodbye and left the room. After everyone left, Makiling began to speak. I heard from my brother about what happened on the outer layer of the cordilleras. I'm glad that you were safe. Makiling said.  Yes, I was careless during that time and did not notice that the spell that I cast wore off. Luckily I could outsmart the enemy. If not, I might have put myself again in danger. I said  I believe my brother already asked you, what have you come up with to defeat the enemy? Makiling asked.  I'll be honest with you, I'm a bit anxious about what to do and how to deal with them. I feel that something was off with the information that the animals gave me the other day. It's not that i don't trust them. Actually, I was really grateful for their help, But I feel that the enemy set up a trap.  I understand what you're saying right now Ayari, it's better to plan things first before we go ahead and execute everything. I guess you already know the consequences of acting without thinking. Makiling said. You're right. That's what i'm aiming for right now. I want everything to run as smoothly as possible. And I also don't want to cause more damage in the cordilleras during our fight. I said.   I see. That's good to hear that. Just tell me if there's any way that I can help you during your battle. Also, retake this in case of emergency. Makiling said and took out the brooch from her clothes. I thanked her for letting me borrow her brooch again. I summoned the dimensional inventory and placed the item there.   Makiling and I continued to talk about a lot of things, usually random topics. When I spoke to her, I realized that her personality was the same as his brother's. They laugh at small things and actions. I can tell that they are also easy to please.   Something came into my mind and asked Makiling out of nowhere.  I just want to clarify things, does Ingo have the ability to read someone's mind? I asked.  She started laughing because of my question. Is there something wrong with what I asked her? I was curious if Ingo really can read other people's minds. To tell you honestly, brother doesn't have the ability to read other people's minds. It's just that my brother adapted to his surroundings around that time and was able to read every action of the people he encountered. he had no choice but to make sure that the people he meets will not take advantage of him.  I see. Thank you for telling me about that. I was curious about this because there are some instances that what he was saying was matching what's on my mind.   Sure I understand. If I were you, I'd be curious about things like this—perks of someone being young. Makiling said and chuckled.  We continued to talk about random things and did not notice that we were talking for several hours. Makiling also knew that I came from a different world from .well, there's no use if I had the facts on them since we already knew about this. I bid goodbye and went back to my room. I decided to call it a day and rest, hoping but I will think of how to defeat the enemies.  ----  After a few days of preparation, I decided to go to defeat enemies before this day ends. I asked for approval from Makiling, and she agreed to my plan. He was trying to convince me but I should let it go with me, but I told him I will work alone this time. After several attempts, I still did not agree with his proposal. Instead, I said to him that he should be on standby just if I need help to which she agreed.  I went back to my room and prepared everything that I need for this battle.  After an hour, I decided to head out and bid goodbye to the siblings.  I hope that there will be no complications during this battle. And if you're listening may, please guide me during this time.  After an hour of walking, I reached the boundary that separates cordilleras. I heightened my senses to prepare if the enemies attack me from behind. I did not conceal myself this time because I know that they would see through my spell.
