"Give me back the key!" I said and tried to move towards him.

I remembered that we are on a boat, and my movements are limited. One wrong move, and I will fall on the murky water. I need to get the key from Bansot.

I looked around, but I can't see any solid ground, and the tree is still far away from us. I guess I have no choice. I'm going to freeze the water.

I pointed my arms towards the water and began to cast the spell. Cold air gathered around me as soon as I did that.

The water instantly froze after casting the spell, stopping the boat on its tracks. I jumped towards the enemy, but he dodged my movements. I need to do something with his movements.

Bansot began to cast his spell, too, and black lightning rained down on where I was. I quickly dodge the attacks, and as a counter, I hurled Ice spears towards him. Again, he got away.

I followed him, and he was running towards the tree. I waved my hands and commanded the ice, and it formed a wall. I don't know that I can do this, but maybe it's because I am in a dire situation that's why my abilities got another boost.

Well, I am lucky, I guess. I need to finish my task here as soon as I can. I can feel the portal weakening. An idea suddenly entered my mind. I moved at the back of the boat and commanded in the ice. I gathered my spiritual energy and pushed my energy on the ice. The boat started moving, and I began to run too. It began to accelerate, and I can see Bansot confused about what I was doing.

He must not have caught with my plans. I continued what I was doing, and the distance between the tree and the boat is getting shorter. Just a little more.

After a few minutes of pushing, the boat hit the ground beside the tree. Bansot was on my back and hurled lightning spears, but I deflected it using the Ice wall I created.

"Very witty, Chosen of the Moon. I can see now why Batibat was defeated by someone like you who is underdeveloped." Bansot said, laughing.

"You are laughing at your comrade? How evil!" I said.

"Why? Is there something wrong? Serves her right since she always interferes with my plans."

"Now, give the key back to me!" I shouted.

"Catch me if you can!" Bansot said and laughed again.

He started summoning hordes of flying monsters and commanded them to attack me. Most of the heralds that I fought had the same ability to summon monsters like this. I need to cut off the source like what we did the last time.

I raised my hand, and the mark on my arm glowed brightly.

"Gather, oh light of the underworld!

I command thee, vanquish thy enemies in front of you!"

Ice from the frozen river rose up and was enchanted with moonlight. I pointed my fingers towards the enemies, and the rain of attack began. One by one, the flying monsters fell down from my attacks. I looked for Bansot, and he was hiding on the barrier that he created.

This is my chance.

I placed my hands on the frozen water and the infused spiritual energy. Then all of a sudden, I heard a loud scream from Bansot, meaning my attack worked.

The barrier he created slowly disappeared, and I saw that he was pierced by the ice shard that protruded from the ground. I jumped towards him and grabbed the key in his hands.

"You're cheating!" Bansot shouted.

"How can you call that cheating? I just outsmarted you." I said and placed my hands on his head.

I placed my hands on his head, and the cold aura emitted from my hands. SLowly, Bansot began to get frozen.

"Let go of me!" He shouted.

"Why would I listen to you? After what you did to us on the surface, I will not forgive you." I said.

I increased my spiritual pressure, and the freezing process got faster. I can still hear Bansot mumbling about something.

"The dark lord will avenge us. Just wait and see."

That's what I heard before he totally got frozen. It's the same as Batibat said when we defeated her. Who are they talking about? It's not the time to think about these things. I need to continue the ritual.

I ran as fast as I can on the tree and headed to where the keyhole was. I held the key, but before that, I made sure that Bansot cannot move again in his place. Okay, no movements.

I infused my spiritual energy on the key and place it on the keyhole. The tree began to shine brightly, giving off the intense pressure. It was sucking my spiritual power. I need to endure this.

After a few seconds, the transfer of power stopped, and the tree began to give off a silver light, then it changes into a golden one. The souls resonated with the tree and fluttered in the air.

Two gates appeared in front of us. The first one looked like a simple one, with no extravagant decorations. In contrast, the other one was made from gold and embedded with precious stones.

I tried to remember what Baku said and how can I place them at their correct destination. I need to make the souls chose on what path they want to go. Of course, it was already predetermined where they will end up, but as the one who guides them, we can't tell them where they will go. I just need them to choose which one.

I took out the scroll Baku gave me. This parchment contains the names of those who passed. I need to put some spiritual pressure on the text. It will automatically activate like a speaker, calling the souls one by one. My job here was to make sure that the souls do not overtake which gate they will choose.
