Baku told us that we were able to tap our elemental affinity, but something is still missing. We need to fill the gaps since the flow still has holes in it.
Baku is correct, we did manage to connect, but I know that something is missing.
"Maybe I can help," Anan said.
"How?"
"I'll connect with you too, big brother."
"But, it's dangerous like what Baku said. You heard him. You might not be able to handle the flow of energy." I said, worried.
"Yes, I understand, big brother. But don't worry, after hearing what Big Brother Baku said. I can help in neutralizing the flow of energy. I have the earth element with me, so I know that it can stabilize your powers." He explained.
I patted his head and smiled at him.
"Thank you for your offer Anan, but are you sure about this?" I asked.
"Of course, I want to help you in any way that I can. Honestly, I was wondering if I made the right decision to go with you on your journey. I am starting to feel that I am a burden." Anan said.
"I'm sorry, Anan. I don't want you to feel like that. To be honest, you were really helpful. None of us have powerful healing abilities, unlike you. So believe in yourself." I said, comforting him.
"Thank you, big brother, but aside from me, someone wants to help as well with the ritual."
"Who is it?" I asked.
Anan pointed his fingers at the man sitting near the window. It was Apo.
"You guys, are you sure about this?"
Anan nodded his head.
"I guess there's nothing I can do. We can go ahead and try, but If it starts getting dangerous, I'll tell you to stop, okay?" I said.
"Thank you so much, big brother," Anan said happily and hugged me.
---
The next day, I told Baku about Anan's suggestion for the ritual. He said there's nothing wrong if we go ahead and try. So we decided to go with Anan's plan.
We went back to the swamp to start our training again. Makisig began to fixing the platform, forming the vines circling around at the edges of the swamp. Makisig told us to stand on each platform. We did what he told us to do.
I looked at everyone and asked them if they are ready. Everyone nodded in agreement.
"Focus on your spiritual energy, everyone," Baku said.
"Yes!" Everyone answered.
I closed my eyes and began to concentrate. I gathered my spiritual pressure and pointed my hands towards the middle of the lake. I channeled the power that I picked and started chanting the spell that Baku taught us. The enchantment can be used if five different elements are together.
"Water flows, Wind blow.
Earth rumbles, Fire ignites.
Light shine upon us.
Heed our call, accept thy offer
make thy flow as one."
I began to feel the flow of the force coming from everyone, but there was something wrong. I can feel the energy leaking.
I opened my eyes. It was Anan.
"Anan, listen. Stop gathering the energy around you!" I shouted.
I can see Anan lost focus and started to panic. Shockwaves of energy were released from him, and all of us got hit, sending us backward on the ground. Apo fell on the swamp.
I hurried to go to Anan and checked his condition. He passed out because of the intense pressure that he got from the resonance spell.
"Hey, Anan. Wake up."
It's no use. Anan totally passed out because of the leaking of energy. I called Baku and asked him to help me transfer some of the spiritual force back to Anan.
After sending some of my energy, Anan woke up.
"Hey, Anan. Are you okay? I'm sorry."
"I'm fine, big brother. I should be the one saying sorry. I caused some issues during the training." He said.
"It's fine, Anan. Don't worry, everyone is okay. You must have been overwhelmed by the flow of energy." I said.
Ester sat beside us and gave Anan some water to drink.
"Silly big brother Anan, you were over-exerting yourself again. You are always like this." Ester said, hitting Anan's shoulder.
"I'm sorry, sis, I'll be careful next time," Anan said and ruffled Ester's hair. Both of them smiled.
I stood up and told everyone that we should take a break and resume once Anan is okay. I asked Anan not to participate in the ritual, but he insisted. So I allowed him to do so. I told him to be more careful instead.
I looked around and looked for Apo. I saw him sitting near the tree, drying his clothes. Ani and Apo both fell on the water because of the shockwave, and both of them are soaking wet. I reached out the towel that Baku gave me and handed it to Apo.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
"Yes, I'm fine. How about Anan?" Apo asked.
"He is feeling better now. He got overwhelmed by the spiritual pressure. That's why he lost focus."
"So, did you let him continue with the training?"
"Anan insisted, and I don't want to hurt his feelings. That's why I agreed." I said.
"What a very caring brother. People are sure lucky when they are around you." Apo said and smiled at me.
"Why do you say so?"
"It's nothing. Forget about it." He answered and laughed all of a sudden.
Apo walked towards me and ruffled my hair, then patted my shoulder. He walked towards my siblings and checked on them.
"So, how is it going between you two?" Ani asked all of a sudden.
"Here you go again, Ani, teasing me again."
"I'm just checking those obvious things. Look at you. Your face is red like a tomato." Ani said and chuckled.
I placed my palms and feel my cheeks, and Ani was correct. I was blushing all this time.
Calm down, Ayari. Getting giddy just talking with Apo for some unknown reasons.
"It's okay, Ayari. You don't have to tell us. The two of you are so obvious. Everyone can see through the both of you." Ani said and tapped my shoulders.
"Hey, what do you mean, miss?" I asked and followed her.
"Go ahead and check for yourself," Ani answered, laughing.
