"Choose your words carefully,"     "You are not a little girl anymore, Sloane," he stated calmly. "As your father, I did everything I could to protect you, so that you can survive. I understand your anger. More than anyone ever will. I am not sorry for the way I raised you. I am not sorry for the way you turned out. Look at you.
