As stated, within a few months I learned there were more chores for Jackie. I many times spotted Mom furtively stepping into Jackie’s small bedroom... at night... when ostensibly I was asleep. Curiosity fomented, I finally one night put my ear to the door and heard for the first time a woman taking her pleasure. Mom had many lonely years after Dad died.
