Cheska's POV: She recovered quickly from the blow I'd given her. I needed to smack her head harder. I was about to do it again but she was about to retaliate as well. Of course, I didn't let her, and I blocked her blow with my arm. The creatures that had circled Cresia came to me and attacked me as well. I swung my sword at them and slashed their throats. I began to float mid-air and look at the leader. She looked at me completely tongue-tied. "Impossible, you can't just power up like that. You don't even have your mark yet. This is outrageous! Just what kind of sorcery is this?!" the dark nymph growled, out of her frustrations at me. "I have a feeling that you don't like me that much, hmm am I right oh mistress of darkness?" I asked her sarcastically. I then grabbed my sword and noticed that it too has transformed. The black blade remained intact, but unlike the plain blade I had before this one had runes engraved on them, and they were glowing as well. I tried to read them but I couldn't. My brain couldn't decipher them, perhaps they were too old. The light nymphs had given this to me, they're language sure is colorful and I could tell that it had a lot of history that came with it. I attacked her from the sky and with high speed slashed my sword at her. At first, I thought I had ended her but turns out I had only cut her right hand. She's fast I'd give her that. Just like before, she regenerated her limbs instantly. Though I felt like I was somehow invincible right now, I still shouldn't let down my guard. Who knows what kinds of tricks these creatures have for us. I backed up a little and attacked again. "You little b***h" she sneered at me. I knew I had pissed her off enough when she tried to jump on me and squish me. "Ches help!" Lacresia screamed from above, she was greatly outnumbered. I was about to go and help her but as I was about to the creature's tongue had wrapped itself around me. I looked over my wounds and hoped that her tongue hadn't gotten there and thankfully it hadn't yet. I heard wings flapping in my direction and saw Cresia flying towards me. She grabbed an arrow from her back and used it to slice the tongue causing it to loosen its grip on me. She sure had gotten better at flying. "Phew, thanks Ches," I say to her. "Wow, what happened to you?" she asked about my appearance. "Well, as of the moment I don't have any clue as well" I then shrugged it off and faced the now tongueless creature in front of us. It was howling in pain, as it caressed its now severed tongue on the ground. "Che's aim at her eyes, let's try to blind her. She has regenerative abilities. Its tongue will come back a few seconds from now," I ordered Cresia. She then nodded her head and aimed her arrow at its eyes. I saw the whole scene in slow motion but in reality, it was as fast as the speed of light. How I was able to see it like that I don't have a clue, but I'm thankful that I did as it was just amazing to see! The arrow waggled a bit because of the pressure it got from the bow and a few moments later it had pierced the creature's eyes all the way to the back to its head. Blood poured from the spot and the creature slowly fell to its knees. I don't know how it did it but it was still alive after all that. I decided to try and finish it off so I then jumped at it, raised my sword, and aimed for its neck. As I landed on the ground I also heard the loud thud as its head fell to the ground. I was waiting for it to start smoking and explode like the other but it didn't. I don't know why but it hadn't disintegrated yet. Though it was gravely injured its mouth continued to move and was muttering something. Its dark eyes turned even more black as it opened its mouth. The sky then began to get dark, I could feel the wind change as well. It was like the entire atmosphere had changed. It had started to put back its severed head and regenerate the parts we'd cut off. It grabbed Lacresia's arrow from its eye and allow itself to heal it. What's more surprising is that all the other dark nymphs came to her aid. I think they were chanting the same thing. They came to her mindless zombies. Then the most bizarre thing happened, they merged into her! I took a step back and looked at Cresia. She was just as stunned as I was. The creature looked at us with an evil smile and instantly charged towards us. It growled like the animal it was, it looked as if it was a demon from the deepest parts of hell with the horns that it grew from its head and the red skin it had. It was as tall as a mountain, a literal giant. It smelled so vile and toxic that I swear people from the neighboring towns could smell it. And so we did the only reasonable thing we could do. We ran. Well, I ran while Cresia flew. I couldn't really fly, it was more of levitating than flying. Even with the boost I just had we are still no match for this huge monster. And so we ran into the forest. I looked back and saw that everywhere the monster went or wherever it went through it had poisoned everything in its path. The plants, trees and, grass instantly died and the bird fell limp as it passed through it. We have to keep the damage at a minimum. "Cres we have to go back! Look!" I screamed at her from the ground. She then looked back and saw what was happening. She nodded and then instantly switched directions. We went back to where we first fought. Back to their swamp of toxins. I saw Cresia try to fight the monster on her own but it had smacked her it hit her on the back, causing her to break one of her wings. She fell from the sky and I immediately sped up to catch her. Thankfully I got there in time but the impact was too much for me and so it knocked me to the ground as well. I instantly stood up after that. The monster was now staring down at us. If I were my old self then I'd probably be shaking out of fear but the power in my veins right now won't let me. Something in me refuses to succumb to the emotion of fear. "Hold Cresia's hand, Xen. Two is better than one. Share the blessing of the gods," I heard a woman say in my head. I did what she said and took Cresia's hand. I then closed my eyes and let the power flow. I felt the power flow through both of us, I gained from hers and she gained from mine. We were symbiotic. I opened my eyes and I just know that my eyes glowed even brighter than before. I looked over at Cresia and saw that she has opened her eyes as well, unlike mine that had a golden color to it hers were silver. She glowed of white and silvery color. She truly looked like a goddess. Her wings had been healed and then I saw her flap them. And as if an invisible force had been released from her wings the monster had stepped back. As a result, the monster bared her fangs at us, attempted to come at us again, and tried to bite my neck. I let go of Cresia's hand and I then levitated to its height. I raised my arm and closed my eyes. I felt where the sea was at and called it to me. Once I opened my eyes I saw that I was inside an encapsulated water barrier. I motioned my hands and the capsule disappeared. A trident then formed in my hands. This was Dagat's power. I slowly descended to the ground, pointed the sword and trident at her, and said with a voice that I didn't recognize as my own, "You have disrupted this realm's peace, betrayed your sisters, and most of all a traitor to the gods. You have sold your soul to the dark lord in hopes of gaining power. Your greed has brought this upon you and you shall suffer dire consequences." I could feel more and more power surge through my veins. I saw Lacresia fly up into the sky she had raised her bow and arrow and parted the sky with it. Light has shown through the sky, but lightning followed. She raised her arrow and I saw lightning strike. She could control lightning! I saw her position herself and shot the monster causing it to be electrocuted. I saw the monster try to shake off Cresia's attack but it was no use. I don't know why but I jabbed my trident to the ground. "est reef eth repow fo eas sheka et land" I said. The ground began to shake, I willed an earthquake to happen. I then began to motion at the ground and saw it open where the river was supposed to be at. I did a rising gesture with my hand, and water flowed from the cracks. I willed the ground to shake again this time the opening was where the monster stood. The creature was still dizzy from Cresia's attack fell right into the hole. It tried to hold on but Cresia took control of the wind and made it lose its grip. Forcing it to fall deep into the ground. I willed for my trident and sword to become one and to my surprise they did! I threw it at the monster and this time I aimed for its chest. And just like that, I heard the monster hollered in pain one last time and a loud explosion engulfed the ground below. I gestured to the ground for it to shake again and for it to close up the hole. I looked around me and saw Cresia clearing up the sky. I smiled, knowing that for the first time in a very long time this place is finally clean.
