New Powers

Cresia's POV: This was a bad idea. The Bakunawa was now trying its hardest to get rid of me, and I've used every ounce of strength I have to hold on to it. Any moment now I was gonna lose a lot of my strength and it would only take a couple of seconds for me to fall and get eaten. I closed my eyes and tried to focus my mind. This was not the time to let negative thoughts flood over me. I can't die, at least not yet and certainly not here. If I fall now I'd leave Cheska defenseless. I needed to stay alive to get the answers from my visions. I knew it had something to do with Cheska and the only way we can both get answers is if we survive this day and get the key to enter that city. If it was up to me I would never go there, my grandparents had told me stories about that place, where humans like us go and never come back. It's scary really but I too needed answers. My grandparents told me it was time for my quest, they themselves weren't sure about it but they said it was already pre-written centuries ago. I opened my eyes and slowly crawled towards the monster's eyes. I was in between them, the dragon was looking at me now cross-eyed. I pulled my sword from my waist and stabbed its right eye with it. The monster hollered in pain I almost felt sorry for it, green blood gushed out from the wound as the veins on its eyes contracted desperately trying to minimize the blood loss. It brought one of its hand up to its eye attempting to swat me away from it. I on the other hand am desperately trying to balance myself out. I was about to think that I'd only be able to stab one eye due to its efforts of getting me out off the top of its head, but then I noticed how distracted it was now. I then recognized this to be my opening, now was my chance! I looked toward the left eye and pulled the sword from the right. I then lunged toward the left eye and jumped while stabbing it. Creating a large opening or cut on the eye. This was bloodier than the other one. I landed on the ground with a loud thud. I then stood up and glanced at the monster. It worked I've blinded it! I actually did it! The bakunawa was now heavily distracted. The only fear I had now was that if it would lash out before I can reach and get Cheska and me out of here. I then ran towards where Cheska was and carried her on my back. "C'mon Ches let's get you out of here first" I whispered to her. I then ran through the tunnels desperately trying to find a safe place to leave her at. I ran until I found the first corridor we found a while ago, this was where the dragon slept. I stepped inside and looked for an empty room. I was going through every door and pathway I could find. One was either too dark, too empty or too crowded. I needed to find a room where there was enough objects or cabinets we could hide at. The second I did find one I laid her down gently and poured medicine on the wound she had on her head. We were now at some kind of kitchen, well it looked like a kitchen. It had cupboards and an old gas stove. A sink on the side and saucepans as well as frying pans and other cooking tools. I looked over Cheska and observed the way she looked and noticed how pale she got in only a matter of minutes. She was shaking, she looked like she was having some kind of nightmare. I hope she gets better soon enough, considering the fact that we still had to face the Bakunawa and get the key to enter Biringan. I sat and laid there with her, after staying there for a few minutes I heard the monster growl from the outside, "How did it get here so fast?" I looked at Cheska and her condition hasn't shown any improvement at all. In fact she looked so much worse. Hey eyes had sunken and her skin was now as white as snow. I have no idea what was happening to her but one thing was for sure we needed to get out from here as soon as possible. It was up to me to save the both of us now. I then got up and ran where the sound was coming from, and there I found the dragon with its eyes bleeding and still blind. Its sense of smell and hearing has compensated for its loss of sight already, that was fast. This was one adaptive monster. I think it noticed me when I got here as it's nose started to flare and it's ears went up as it bared its fangs and roared at the wall it was facing. Well, that isn't a good sign. We were now both on guard. The monster sniffed the air again. I then remembered what Lady Katalina said about our scents as demigods. It was strong and very unique. Perhaps I smelled delicious to the Bakunawa. He took a whiff of the air again and turned slowly to the direction I was at. If it was angry before it was at its angriest now. It didn't help that I smelled like food to him. I tried to make my self calm and collected my thoughts. I had one major advantage over it. I had eyes, it didn't. With that thought I assumed my fighting stance and grabbed my sword, gripped it so tight that my knuckles turned white. I was nervous of course, I was readying myself to fight a creature from our legends, if that doesn't scare people I don't know what would. "Oh screw it" I said to myself and with that, I screamed my battle cry and headed on to battle. Cheska's POV: I opened my eyes, confused and with a throbbing pain on my head. Ouch! The Bakunawa sure had a strong tail with it. I tried to move and stand up but my ribs were broken, again lol. This was getting a little too out of hand, it seemed like every time I go down here I keep on getting my bones broken. Sheesh what a pain! I then heard roaring from the distance, and clashing of swords. Wait Lacresia! Where is she? Has she went off to battle that monster on her own? I have to go help her there's no way she can do it on her own! I'm not underestimating her or anything like that. I know that she's just as capable as I am in fighting. But I just think that I should go help her. I tried to move again! It seemed like I forgot about my injuries for a moment. My concern now overpowering the pain I'm feeling. I'm in no condition to fight, the least I could is to drive it nuts. I looked around the room I was currently in! Ah pans and ladles that would be helpful. I picked up the pans, ladles and knives I could carry and ran to where Cresia was fighting at. I ran there thinking that she can hold her own against that monstrous beast but when I got there I was shocked at what I saw. I were maybe a floor up from where she was at. She was immensely overpowered by it and I could hear her painful groans every time the monster tried to smite her. She looked tired and injured. I can't help but feel guilty. I left her alone and forced her to fight a creature she barely has any idea about. I called at her and said "Cresia here! I'm here!" she looked up at me and smiled. I then started to bang the pans I've brought with the ladle creating as much noise as I can. I lined the pans in a row and started to bang them one by one by throwing rocks on them, hitting them with the ladles and everything I could get my hands into. The monster seemed agitated. I just noticed how it was blind, and has been bleeding from its eyes. Gosh! I really do need to give Cresia more credit. She must have done so much just to save me. Now that the Bakunawa was blind its sense of hearing is as sensitive as ever that is because when a sense goes missing the other senses try to compensate for the lacking one, thus resulting to the other senses becoming more sharp and sensitive even to the slightest of things. That's why the monster looked so alarmed now, if I keep banging the pans hard I could drive the dragon out of here but once I stopped I fear that it would just come back right away. Due to its agitation to the noise it stopped fighting with Cresia and laid on its back if my guess was right then the stomach would be the softest part of that reptile's skin. If Lacresia wanted to cut it open she should do it on its stomach. Perhaps we were thinking of the same thing, because the next thing I saw was Cresia dragging her sword on the ground and jumping so high up I was sure she was as the same height as I was. She then stabbed the Bakunawa on its stomach, slicing it as far she could while continue falling down to the ground. And just like that, I saw the monster collapse. I immediately ran down to her and hugged her, "Oh my gosh you were amazing!" I exclaimed. But just when we thought that the battle was over the monster was able to stab Cresia and I on our stomachs. I didn't know what kind of power went over me but I now felt some-kind of energy rushing at my fingertips. I looked at my reflection on the wall and I almost didn't recognize myself. My hair had turned white and blood had stained my shirt. The wounds I had were rapidly healing including the broken bones. I pulled Cresia and me from its claw and laid her down. I then grabbed the knife I had kept on my belt and threw it at the monster's heart. I didn't know how I knew that was the heart but I just did. The Bakunawa was now slowly disintegrating and to my surprise on its ashes was buried a golden key. They Key to Biringan.
