Cheska's POV:
Okay so maybe defeating these nymphs was harder than I thought. We've been fighting for a good twenty minutes now, to be honest, I'm starting to feel tired. The fact that some of them had wounded me, by slashing at me their long horrendous nails, isn't helping with my case. My right arm was wounded and my chest has a pretty deep cut. I can't feel any pain right now, must be because of the adrenaline. I could see Cresia struggling as well, she was now on the ground no longer flying. Her back was bleeding, I think she has been smashed into a tree or something. Overall she doesn't look very good. The truth is we are both completely exhausted, but one thing is for sure though, We won't be giving up any time soon. I raised my sword and slashed the nymph's neck. I heard a sound coming from the back so I quickly turned around swung my sword at the creature. I then felt something coming at me from above, it seemed like one of the winged members noticed me. I ran to the side, used a huge rock to bounce myself at, and launched myself from there. I raised my sword and brought it down to its neck. If I were the girl a few weeks I would probably tell you that I couldn't even cut down potatoes in the kitchen without accidentally cutting myself. But if you told that to me now, I'd probably laugh at you and say that you're underestimating me. With the talents given to me naturally by my demigod blood, slashing at the monster's neck became normal to me. Like it's my second nature. My movement was as fluid as the sea, being able to adjust and attack from wherever I was and whatever may be in front of me. It's like When I close my eyes, I can hear the waves crashing on the beach's shore, calming me. It clears my mind and allows me to decide what I should do next. I looked over at Cresia and saw that she too was adapting to her element, the air. My thought have been cut off when a strange cold old man's voice suddenly talked, "Give it up demigods. You can't defeat us. Our numbers have greatly increased over the years, and the same thing can be said about our abilities. We are no longer the weak creatures you've defeated in the past. The light nymphs are wrong about sending you here. They've made the mistake of trusting you to deal with the problems that we have". I think it was the same nymph who talked to me the last time. "Well, no can do. We won't allow you to continue doing your evil deeds. Don't you have remorse or regret for killing your sisters?" Cresia spat at it coldly. The nymph snickered at what Lacresia said, "Girl, are you truly naive? Or are you just dumb? We no longer feel anything. We have lost our ability to feel the moment we crossed to the dark side," the creature answered. "So you've traded your ability to feel and the chance to have the experience of being human for the chance to gain what exactly? Ugliness?" I said to her coldly. The creature rolled its eyes at what I just said "Oh please spare me the lecture about the appearance, once the dark lord gets his throne back he promised to give me back my youthful beauty, it's a small price to pay or the abilities he gave us when we accepted him as our lord and leader. " the nymph confidently said. Just what is she talking about? The dark lord? That sounds like a villain from those fairytale books for kids. What can I expect though? This world has completely changed the way I looked at things. Seems like the only things that haven't come to life yet are the cartoons from the television shows we used to watch when we were kids. "No matter what abilities he may have given you, these blades can still cut through you lady, " I replied to her. "True but I guess I can mention one ability he did give me. Before when the two demigods had fought we lost because well they were simply too powerful for us, and our numbers weren't really that great. I could only turn nymphs, to be specific. But now, I have the ability to turn humans as well. It took a lot of practice but I have to say demigods are a tough book to c***k but your abilities do come in handy. I can turn you just by l*****g a wounded area of your body, you know? It's that easy. I do have a pretty long tongue," she says while she showed as her tongue after, it was similar to a snake's tongue with the tip divided into two, but I'm pretty sure it could go to a very long length. Geez a lady, that's a pretty long tongue you have there. Considering how she just dropped it right to the ground, I'm pretty sure she can stretch it as well. "You'll make wonderful dark warriors for the nymphs," my eyes widened at what I heard and I'm sure Cresia was sporting the same reaction I had. My hands trembled a little but I couldn't let her see that. "What's with the scared look on your face dearest daughter of the sea? Frightened hmmm? Sure does smell good. It's high time for you to give up and stop this silly fight. You and your friend haven't even manifested the mark yet, your powers are far lesser than mine. You don't stand a chance", she said while smiling like the Cheshire cat. The smirk on her face indicated that she was sure of what she was saying, and no part of it was a lie. I gulped loud and hard, she could turn as into one of them? Her tongue is gross as heck but I can't get the image out of my head. Then I remembered how sad Rita was when the attack happened, how the other light nymphs were trembling from fear. How they were too scared to even talk about them that's they change into their earthly forms. I remembered how the river became dirty how the once freshwater from it had turned completely green and muddy. And most of all I recalled how the dehydrated nymphs looked at the bottom of the river. I can't let fear get the best out of me now. The scared expression painted on my face was now erased. It was not replaced with sheer determination and strength. I looked at Cresia and saw that she mirrored the expression I had. She nodded at me, telling me that she will follow what I'll do. Bring it on. "Not a chance you ugly and vile creature. There's no other option but to keep fighting. You've hurt fat too many creatures already, taken the lives of the innocent. You do not deserve to dwell in this place anymore" I said with courage and determination lacing my voice. I heard wings flap, I saw Cresia go to the skies. The dark nymphs who had wings flew up as well. Now the real fight begins. Armed with my newfound strength and determination, I assumed my fighting stance and got ready for battle. I no longer waited for them to attack first, instead, I was the one who came to them. I held up my sword and slashed at everything I ran into. I slashed one on the arm, then I turned to my left, and beheaded the nymph lunging at me. When I realized I was beginning to be surrounded I jumped as high as I could and closed my eyes. I don't know where I came from but I spun myself up in the air and positioned my arms sidewards, the moment I descended I felt the pressure increase. Have you ever seen a propeller on a boat or plane? That's the form I was aiming for. I stretched my arms as wide as I could and then let my sword severe the head of every nymph it came in contact with. Once I landed, I stood in the middle of the smoke formed by their disintegration. I closed my eyes again and forced myself to concentrate, with all the screaming going on it was hard to locate the leader. Then I heard the familiar cold old man's voice, found her. I ran towards her with my top speed, if I want to end this as soon as possible, I need to get her first. I raised my sword once again and lunged at her. She caught it effortlessly, "Silly child you think you can cut me that easily? I am the first dark nymph. The one and only soon-to-be Goddess of Darkness. You cannot defeat me," she said and pushed off of her. "I guess that means you're old," I said to her in an attempt to piss her off. The seemed to have worked since she attempted to claw my face out. If I hadn't moved in time that would have been a problem. "Raaaawr! Aargh!" she continued to attack me using her inhuman speed, I gotta give it to her she has one heck of a power-up. She brought out her tongue and also attacked me with it. She's using it similarly to how a frog uses its tongue at catching flies for food. I tried to cut but it regenerated almost instantly, just what kind of monster is she? I continued to lunge at her every chance I got. But she's fast, she growled at me like an animal. Her teeth grew larger and her fangs grew bigger. Her claws got longer. She even had a tail now. Guess she wasn't done showing off huh. I backed up from my steps, I was so engrossed in trying to evade her attacks that I hadn't noticed how she was cornering me into a dead end. That's bad news. I looked over Lacresia for help and saw that she was being cornered as well. I was so engrossed in my thoughts that I didn't notice her tail coming at me. She smacked me right into the rock behind that I was being cornered on. I closed my eyes as I groaned out in pain. It was so painful that I thought I was going to pass out. Instead, the opposite happened, I felt a new kind of power surge through me. I was energized now more than ever. I felt powerful. I opened my eyes and saw the shock on the creature's face. I felt my eyes glow. She was about to smack me again but this time I caught her tail with one hand, I looked over my hands and saw I had gold and white hues on them. It covered my entire body. Her eyes widened 'cause of disbelief. I saw the expression of fear flash on its face momentarily, I looked into her eyes and saw how my eyes had turned gold. I smirked, knowing I had scared her. "You know for a creature who has no emotions, you sure do look horrified," I said and punched her head into the ground. Serves you right.
