The Lost Fae

Chapter 8

Alpha Alexander’s POV

I mind linked my Gamma and asked him to wake one of the kitchen staff up to make Kathrine some food. After that I instructed him to find Adam and his mate a suite for them to be in. The suite just a fancy name for a luxury apartment. This way they don’t have to eat with everyone else in the pack house if they don’t want to. Although they are more than welcome to, I’m not naïve enough to believe they wouldn’t encounter some difficult people, seeing as they are Fae.

Kathrine was still attached to me, although I am not complaining. I waited years to find my mate. I don’t care what the council or anyone else has to say. It doesn’t matter that they won’t want a Fae as a Luna. She may not be ready to be Luna yet, but she will be. I’m not so self absorbed to believe that my mate won’t be an excellent Luna just because she’s a Fae, or because she is weak right now. The moon Goddess chose her for me, that is reason enough to worship the ground she walks on.

I looked at the clock on my night stand and realized that it was two thirty in the morning. After Kathrine ate, we both were going to need some sleep.

“Alex?” I heard Kathrine say my name softly and my heart went over the moon.

“Yes Angel?” I responded.

“I was meaning, is it okay to call you Alex?” she said in a small voice. Goddess, I love her voice!

“Its more than okay baby.” I said while chuckling. Suddenly there was a knock at the door and I felt Kathrine jump and sit up. Kathrine started shaking as the look of fear came across her face.

“Shh, baby it’s just the food I asked Samuel to being you.” I said soothingly as I rubbed her back.

“Come in!” I raised my voice so my Gamma could hear me.

“The food you requested Alpha.” He said with his head down, never making eye contact with me or my mate. He folded out the small folding table and sat the tray of food on it.

“Alpha. Luna.” He said with formality as he bowed his head lower as he left the room.

I slid Kathrine off my lap and onto the bed as I stood up to move the table of food closer to my mate. She looked at the food like a starved animal would it’s prey, but she didn’t move. She looked up at me and waited.

“Kathrine, eat baby.” I said and she dug into the food.

“Slowly baby, I don’t want you to get sick.” I said as I laughed.

She slowed down, but wasn’t able to eat as much as I would like her to. She kept her leg against mine while she ate, I think it’s because of the mate bond. As long as she’s touching me she feels safe and calm.

I know that tomorrow I will have to resume my Alpha duties. I would have asked Johnathan to take over for a couple days while I spend quality time with my mate, but Johnathan was busy with his mate. When he found her in the dungeon of the vampire coven, she was beaten, hadn’t eaten in days and had her body was used for their own pleasures against her will. This was also the case for all of the female pack members we rescued. It was safe to say my pack was a mess.

I was pulled out of my thoughts by Kathrine placing a hand on my forearm. I look down and I saw her tracing the tattoo of a wolf that I had there. Just that simple touch was enough to make me melt. I pushed her unfinished food to the side and picked her up and laid down with her on the bed. All I wanted to do was hold her and smell her scent. I felt my mates hands on my chest and I looked down at her to see her looking me over.

“Do you like what you see?” I asked her in a teasing voice. She instantly removed her hands covered her blushing face.

“I’m sorry, I won’t happen again.” She said in a whisper. I gently pulled her hands away from her face and placed them back on my chest and she froze.

“You can touch or look at me anytime you want baby. I am all yours.” I said to her as I brushed her hair away from her face.

“Alex?” Kathrine asked me in a small voice.

“Yes angel?” I replied

“Why do I feel this way? I don’t understand. It feel…different… when you touch me.” She asked looking down.

“It’s the mate bond baby. It let’s us know that we are made for each other. It let’s out mate know we are safe and protected. I feel the same thing when you touch me. You calm me and my wolf, your touch makes me feel loved and accepted.” I explained.

“So this is normal?” she asked me.

“The mate bond is normal, however, this is the first time a Fae and a Werewolf have ever been mates. I like to think it makes our bond extra special.” I said with a smile.

“What do you mean? I have seen werewolves, but not any Fae.” She said.

“You are a Fae, baby. The woman that healed you, Victoria, is also a Fae. So is her mate Adam.” I said to her.

“Oh. What makes a Fae so different from a Werewolf?” she asked me.

“Well, werewolves are two beings in one body. We can shift into either form, human and wolf. I don’t know much about the Fae, but I do know you power far exceeds mine. I think you should talk to Adam and Victoria about the Fae stuff. I’m sorry I can’t be of much help on the matter baby.” I said while running my hair through her hair. After being quiet for a few minutes, I could see the wheels in Kathrine head turning. She opened her mouth as if to say something but then she shut it.

“Kathrine, what is it baby?” I asked her as I tilted her face up to mine.

“Well, Its just I’m in a new place, and I don’t know my place here. Before I knew I was just a prisoner, and masters pet. Now, I am confused. I don’t know what’s expected of me. I am scared because if I say or do something wrong, I know I will have to be punished.” She said as her lips trembled.

“Angel, you are my Luna. You are the Queen of the Fae. When you are ready, you will rule the pack by my side. You will never be punished or disrespected. You are not a slave or prisoner. If anyone treats you as such, they will pay dearly.” I said finishing that last part with a growl. I felt Kathrine tense up and I rubbed her back until she relaxed.

“Okay.” She said was all she said. I knew it was going to take some time for her to come to terms with her new life, and I would wait patiently.

“Sleep baby. I will be here when you wake up.” I said to her. I waited until she drifted off to sleep, then I followed soon after.
