Alpha Alexander POV
“Alpha, I’m not sure what else I can do for her. You need a Fae healer, not a pack doctor. I’ve never even seen a Fae before today.” Jasmine explained to me.
“How much different can it be? She is MY mate! I’m suppose to protect her!” I yelled at her, as the feeling of helpless invaded my body. Under my Alpha power radiating from me, Jasmine fell to her knees and bares her neck in submission.
“Please Alpha.” Jasmine rasped out as my power constricted the air from her lungs. I took a breath and gained control of my emotions as the power was sucked out of the room, instantly relieving Jasmine.
I wanted to apologize and explain that I felt overwhelmed and helpless that I couldn't help my mate, but I couldn’t bring myself to bare my soul to someone that wasn’t my mate. That right was reserved for her alone. Only she was allowed to see that side of me.
“Alpha, I may not know what to do for your mate, but I may know someone who can.” Jasmine said when she got her breathing under control. My head jerked up at her words.
“I don’t think your going to like it though.” She said cautiously.
“I will do whatever I must to help my mate. Tell me.” I ordered her. She took a deep breath as if preparing herself for her answer.
“Your Father.” She blurted out. I felt frozen. I hadn’t seen or heard from my father since he was banished to be a rogue by the elders 6 years ago. My father had done many things wrong when he led the Blood Moon Pack, but what he was banished for was faking a mate bond with my mother. No one, not even me or my brother, knew that they didn’t have a real mate bond. We only found out after he killed my mother in a fit of rage in front of many pack members.
It’s impossible to kill your mate, because our wolves won’t allow it. When the elders where investigating my father, they found out that he killed my mothers mate because he wanted her for himself. He was so obsessed with having her that he rejected his own mate and forced my mother to have his pups. After he was exiled, my brother became Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack.
“I will contact my brother and see if he has heard anything from my father. You are dismissed” I said to her. Jasmine bared her neck and left my bedroom, where she had been attempting to care for my mate. I pulled out my phone and dialed my brother and waited for his answer.
“Alexander, how nice to hear from you brother. It’s been what, 4 years?” I could hear the coldness in my brother’s voice as he answered.
“Jacob, I apologize for not speaking to you sooner, but I don’t have time to get into this right now. It’s a matter of life and death.” I responded trying to keep the anger out of my voice.
“This should be interesting, do continue.” He said with mock enthusiasm.
“DAMMIT JACOB, MY MATE IS DYING! I DON’T HAVE TIME FOR THIS!” I snarled at him.
“Touchy touchy. Alexander, what could I possibly do your you that my former pack doctor can’t?” Jacob’s voice was dripping with malice as he spoke. When I took over the Silver Moon Pack, Jasmine asked me if she could come and join my pack. Her mate had rejected her and my new pack didn’t have a doctor, so of course I didn’t object.
“I need to speak with father. That all you can do for me. I know you stayed in contact with him.” I said trying to regain my sense of composure.
“So, you expect me to believe that father can save your mate, but my, excuse me, YOUR pack doctor can’t? Man, you using your mate as an excuse to talk to father is a low blow, especially for you.” He finished.
“Yes, he can. He knows how to contact a Fae healer.” I responded trying to keep myself calm.
“Why would you need a F-. Oh, my Mood Goddess. Your mate is a Fae?” he asked as he started to laugh.
“Your mate isn’t even a wolf!” he was laughing like a hyena and insulting my mate. That is something I cannot forgive.
“YOU WILL SHOW MY MATE THE RESPECT SHE DESERVES!” I yelled using my Alpha voice. I lowered my voice, but my power still radiating as I continued.
“Do not forget brother, that the only reason you are Alpha is because you are older than me by only a few minutes, not because you are more dominant than me.” I said reminding him of his place.
“He will meet you at the old mine shaft in three hours.” Jacob said changing his tone entirely. This time it held no malice and no disrespect, for that I was thankful. Then Jacob disconnected the call.
Well, I am one step closer to getting my mate the care she needs. I still can’t help but feel like it’s not enough. Every minute that slips by, so does she. I hated to be away from my mate for any amount of time, but if I don’t see my father she will die. I pulled out my phone and messaged for the pack doctor to come to my room immediately. Without waiting for a response from her I put my phone away and turned towards my fragile mate.
I went to our bed and sat down on the edge next to her. Even though she was unhealthy and dying, she was still beautiful. She had the most vibrant red hair I had ever seen, she had cute freckles on her face that only added to her beauty. I had no idea what color her eyes were, but it didn’t matter. I am hers and she is mine. I reached out to stroke her hair away from her neck as I bent down to inhale her scent. It smelled of roses and vanilla with a hint of cinnamon. It calmed my wolf and I growled at the contentment of being near my mate. Just then there was a knock at the door.
“Come in.” I said as I stood in front of my mate. The doctor came in and kept her head bowed.
“Yes Alpha?” Jasmine said.
“ I need to meet my father to discuss getting my mate a Fae Healer. You will stay with her and protect her. If anything happens to my mate while I am gone, you will pay for it with your life, am I understood?” I said using my Alpha voice.
“Yes Alpha. It will be done as you have commanded.” Jasmine responded while baring her neck in submission.
I turned around and bent down to inhale my mate’s scent once more and placed a kiss on her forehead before taking my leave. I hated to leave her. My wolf was growling at the space that was increasing between us and our mate. I needed her safe and healthy, and she wasn’t going to be either is I didn’t do this. With that thought in my mind I left with haste. The sooner I leave, the sooner I could be back with my mate.
