Chapter Five: Crisa Rose

638 Words
It has been a week since I moved here. I’ve taken time off to reorganize my house. Unfortunately the vacation is over and I need to get back to work. Thane has scheduled a business meeting and told me that I need to be there as well. There are opportunities to open another automotive shop and another logistics center. If we could get them opened up it could increase our revenue across the board. So I’m up early on a Monday putting on a sleek grey business suit with matching heels.       When I got to the bar I quickly made my way to the office in the back. As I got closer I could hear that Thane has started the meeting without me. I contemplated turning around and going home, but then I heard the voice of the man from my first night in town. He said his name was Vincent, but his nickname was Storm and I can’t help wondering how he got that nickname. He’s had the starring roll in my dreams every night since that first night and I’m giddy at the thought of seeing him again. Without even thinking about it I was reaching for the door handle and letting myself in.        All eyes were on me and for a second I was self conscious. Thane recovered from the distraction quickly and began introducing me to the men in the room. It seems Vincent brought two men with him, but I wasn’t paying attention to their names. They were looking for investors to start a custom Motorcycle shop and they would also need a shipping company to haul the finished motorcycles across the country.        Turns out they needed a shipper to haul a motorcycle and they needed one today. It wasn’t going far so I decided that I would offer to haul it for them myself. I let them know that I just needed to head home to change and get my truck. I could be on the road in an hour. They were skeptical at first, but agreed when I told them that someone could ride with me to the drop off. I was hoping that Vincent would take the offer to ride with me.        We all shook hands and parted ways with the intention of meeting at the bar in an hour to haul the motorcycle. Someone would ride it to the bar and then ride with me to drop it off. Of course Thane wasn’t happy that I would be riding with one of them and he didn’t know who it would be beforehand. I was disappointed that Vincent didn’t say he would be the one riding with me, but I could roll with whatever.      Once I was home I quickly changed into a pair of jeans and a tank top. I went searching for the keys toy rig and prayed that Thane put gas in it this time. Thane has the habit of using my vehicles and not returning them with a full tank. I don’t know why I still let him drive my vehicles other than the fact he is my older brother. Once I located my the keys I snatched them up and ran outside to my rig.       It’s been awhile since I’ve been behind the wheel of my Peterbilt 379 and it feels like only yesterday. When I crank it up I can see that by some miracle Thane actually filled the tank and I’m ready to go. When I get the bar I’m still 20 minutes early so I hit the DJ booth and turn on some Shinedown then I head over to the bar to grab something to drink. Had I been paying attention to my surroundings I would have realized that I had an audience and the day was going to turn bad quickly.
