Chapter Fifty-Four: Crisa

771 Words
I walked up to the door as a delivery driver pulled up so I paid for everything and took the food inside. Stormy was still in the car trying to get her head around meeting her father. I walked in and put the food in the kitchen before going back to the living room and saying, “hey Thane can you do me a favor and get the bags out of the car and put them in the guest room. I will explain everything to you in the morning I need to speak with Storm privately.” Thane got up and gave me a quick hug before going to do as I asked. He grabbed some food from the kitchen and left without a word. I was standing by the door quietly looking at Storm before I turned around and noticed Stormy had come in so I motioned her forward. I turned to see them staring at each other before I said, “Storm this is your daughter Stormy. Stormy this is your father Storm. Storm she is going to be living here from now on.”      Storm was in shock and just stared at me processing what I just said. His gaze moved from me to Stormy and back again for a couple of minutes. Stormy was clinging to my hand scared of making the wrong move. This poor child is so traumatized by the time she spent living with her mother and I know I can’t undo it, but I will always do my best to make sure her life is happy from now on. All of the sudden Storm had his arms around Stormy in a bear hug and when I turned to go into the kitchen to give him some privacy he grabbed my wrist pulling me into the hug making me hiss in pain. He quickly released me realizing his mistake and apologized profusely.       I gave him a small smile and said, “you two get to know each other, but don’t stay up too late we have to go to the school in the morning. I’m going to go lay down. If you need anything Stormy my room is down the hall last door on the left. Your room is going to be the second door on the right and all of your stuff is already in there. If you are hungry help yourself and if you need anything in the middle of the night help yourself. You don’t have to worry about anything anymore.” She looked at me before throwing her arms around my neck and crying. She thanked me profusely, but I let her know she didn’t need to thank me. She looked between Storm and I hesitant about being left alone so before she could say anything I looked over at Storm and said, “you have both had a long day why don’t we all get settled in for the night and we can get to know each other in the morning. Stormy I’ll show you to your room and Storm you can grab your dinner I’ll be in the room when your done.” She looked at me grateful that she didn’t have to speak up and said good night to Storm before I showed her to her room to get settled in. Once she knew where everything was and was getting comfortable I said good night.      When I got to my room Storm was sitting on the bed waiting for me. When he noticed that I walked in the room he looked up and said, “this is what you were doing? Going to get her and buying her stuff? What happened to Paige? What was the paperwork at the lawyers office? Why would you go off by yourself?” I put my hand on his cheek and placed a gentle kiss on his lips to shut him up. Then I explained everything that had taken place after I walked out of his office. As I explained everything I could see him getting mad, but I reassured him that Paige was gone and Stormy would never have to know that life again. Once he calmed down I went to the bathroom to fo my business and change into some pajamas. When I came out I noticed Storm wasn’t in the room so I got in bed alone and quickly fell into a deep sleep. I shouldn’t have done everything that I did today while trying to heal, but it was worth it to get Stormy away from Paige and I will make sure to take it easy tomorrow.
