Chapter Fifty-Seven: Storm

750 Words
I was surprised to find that I had fallen asleep in Stormy’s room. Crisa stayed with Stormy to wake her up and wait for her to get ready. When I was done getting ready I waited for them outside the kitchen and was happy to see them walking towards me. I decided to go in first with Stormy behind me so she would feel a little bit more comfortable. When I walked in I could see the guys eating and then their guilty looks when they saw me. The moment Crisa saw them she said,  “are you kidding me? I asked you to wait for a few minutes so I could introduce you to a new member of the family and you can’t even f*****g wait for ten minutes.” I could feel Stormy grab my shirt behind me and her hand was shaking before I could turn to her and Crisa said, “I’m sorry honey none of that was directed at you. Everyone this is Stormy she is Storms daughter. Stormy this is my brother Thane, his girlfriend Thalia, my friends Chris, Tyler, and Jordyn. This group will always have your back like your father and I. The only thing you can’t count on is them not eating all the food.”       I fell even more in love with her watching the way she interacted with Stormy. This bomb was dropped in our laps and she took it and made the best of it. She went above and beyond for Stormy and I. We took our seats at the table with Stormy sitting between Crisa and I. As we all ate the table was lively and full of conversation. Everyone was participating in the conversation except Stormy who was watching everyone trying to figure out if they were trustworthy. Crisa reached over and got my attention before saying, “we have to get going. We have to get her registered at school and get the rest of her supplies. We need a desk, TV, and dresser for her room as well. We weren’t able to get everything done yesterday. We can stop by the clinic to get my bandage changed and get Stormy’s physical done while we are out. I need a hairdresser to get my hair washed since I can’t do it myself at the moment.”        I can’t believe that I hadn’t thought about the fact that she may not be able to wash her hair. She never complained or asked for help she just made do with what she had. We all got up and started to make our way out of the kitchen after Crisa told the guys they needed to clean up since she cooked and they didn’t follow simple instructions. Luckily it was a short drive to the local junior high where we were going to register Stormy. When we pulled up there were kids still outside hanging out waiting for school to start. They immediately started pointing and whispering probably wondering who we were, but I ignored it and wrapped my arm around Crisa while she held Stormy’s hand. It took about an hour to get her registered and find out what supplies she would need. The principal agreed to let Stormy start on Monday due to her situation and we were definitely grateful for that.        After the school we made our way to the clinic to have Crisa’s bandage changed and have Stormy’s physical done since she needed one for school. We went back to Tara’s clinic and I could see her watching me out of the corner of her eye as she was changing Crisa’s bandage. I could also tell that she was trying to look for any wounds that may have been inflicted after Crisa left a couple of days ago. She really thinks that little of me yet she’s married to one of the guys in my club. I’ll have to let him know about his wife’s actions. When it was Stormy’s turn to be examined I stepped out of the room to give her privacy and made a call to Tara’s husband explaining her behavior. I let him know that I didn’t appreciate it and I wouldn’t tolerate it after today. Once he understood everything I hung up just in time for Crisa and Stormy to come out of the clinic. I could tell by the look on Crisa’s face that she was furious, but she was trying to hold it in for Stormy’s sake.
