Chapter Twenty-Six: Crisa Rose

594 Words
For a split second I wondered if Storm or Tyler were hurt anywhere, but that’s all I could do as the fight began again. They tried to keep me in between them so they could try to protect me as best they could. Normally that would have pissed me off, but this knife wound in my side was killing me so I’m instead I was grateful. Unfortunately they couldn’t block everything meant for me so I was taking more hits than I would have liked.       Like avenging angels Thane and Chris managed to sneak up behind two of the guys throwing them into headlocks. This gave Tyler and Storm the opportunity to get their guys in a similar hold. I was finally able to stop and take a breath, but I should have known that it wouldn’t last long. I looked up to where Jonathan once stood and I could see him trying to get away. He knew that he had lost the fight, but was a coward and didn’t want to fight. He was one of those leaders that would send his people into battle while he sat on the sidelines watching.       He wasn’t going to get away today. This would end here and now no matter what I had to do. So I ran after him as he tried to make his way out of the back door. Right before he made it to the door I took out one of my throwing knives and threw it in his direction. I managed to knick his ear and get his attention. When he turned around I said, “it was so easy taking everything from you when I was the reason that you had it. You never thought to ask the questions that needed to be asked. Like how I could get you deals with two of the biggest crime families in the States. Did it ever cross your mind that a regular girl shouldn’t be able to do that?” He just stared at me with rage written all over his face. I could tell he was trying to figure it out without asking me or maybe he just wanted me to tell him. I gave him a second to process that before I said, “Zanthus is my uncle on my mother’s side. Xander has been my best friend since we were two years old. They didn’t want to partner with you, but they did because of me. Then you have the nerve to have some b***h try to kill me. You both f****d up by not making sure I was dead. Zanthus and Xander wanted to kill you that night, but I wanted you to lose everything before you died. The satisfaction of seeing your face when you were told it was all gone was priceless.”     He was beyond mad now and that would work to my advantage by causing him to make mistakes. He let out a battle cry and ran at me with his arm held high as if to hit me. I waited for him to get just a bit closer before I went into a backflip and kicked him. I could hear Storm calling my name with a hint of panic in his voice. I didn’t have time to answer him as Jonathan was back on his feet and ready to come at me again. He was fighting with rage and that made him throw wild punches everywhere. He made it easy to dodge the blows and he was tiring himself out in the process.
