Chapter Eighty: Stormy

619 Words
I didn’t mean to call Crisa my mom earlier, but it felt right when I did. I was so happy that she didn’t correct me when I did. She has done so much more for me than my birth mother ever did. She was throwing me an entire party so I could make friends and she wasn’t sparing any expense. In fact she went more than a little overboard and I was ecstatic. I already started making friends with the other kids that go to my school and they all told me they didn’t realize that I was Storm’s daughter. Some of them even said they thought about approaching me at school, but never did because of the people that I thought were my friends.       We were in the garage playing with the karaoke machine and relaxing. When we finished with that we started talking about our hobbies and when they found out I loved art they asked if they could see some of it, but I didn’t know if it was okay to take them in the house so I went looking for Crisa and my dad. When I spotted them I ran over with all my new friends trailing behind me. As soon as I was right in front of them I said, “mom can I show my new friends my art studio? Please?” She looked over the group behind me before smiling and saying, “of course you can. I can show you the shortcut that will lead you there from out here or you guys can go through the house. You can show them your room as well.”        I thanked her and gave her a quick hug before taking the group and showing the my room first. I was nervous about showing them my studio since Crisa and my dad were the only ones that actually went in there. They were all impressed with my room saying that they found their new hangout spot which made me laugh and they started asking about the studio. I guess they thought it would be in my room, but I told them that I actually have a separate room dedicated to just my art downstairs. So we made our way there and when they saw the hall only had three doors they asked about them so I told them one was the gym, one was my studio, and the third was their in home office. To stall just a bit longer I showed them the gym and the guys were in love with it. They all played sports and said this gym was better than the schools. After a short tour of the gym we walked into my studio and they all gasped and started praising my art. I was on cloud nine having found new friends and knowing that they liked my art as well. When we were on the way back outside one of the guys named Blake stopped me to say, “I heard what happened with those kids jumping you and those fake friends dropping you to save themselves. I just want you to know that you are part of our group now and we will always have your back. We are seriously going to have to start hanging out here though because you have more space than we do.” He gave me a cheeky smile with that last bit and I started laughing so hard I had tears streaming down my face. I was so happy today and so thankful to Crisa for saving me from my birth mother and throwing me this party to make friends. I didn’t know how I would ever be able to thank her.
