Chapter Twenty-Eight: Thane

525 Words
I kept my eyes on the stage as Chris and I fought our way through the crowd. Luckily we had taken out most of Jonathan’s group. The only ones left were on the stage with Storm and Crisa. Nobody in the crowd was paying attention to the stage as they were more worried about making sure the enemy was dead and their friends weren’t hurt. I noticed that Tyler was also making his way to the stage. The fight on stage had started and I could tell Crisa was tired. Storm was holding his own and trying to help Crisa out as well.       My heart almost stopped when I saw one of the ones Crisa was fighting had a knife and was about to use it on her when he suddenly dropped dead. I have never been more thankful to have Tyler as a friend and brother than I was in that moment. Storm had managed to take out two of the guys he was fighting so there was only four left plus Jonathan who was hiding off to the side. They quickly backed into each other to protect themselves from sneak attacks. I knew something was wrong the moment Crisa let Tyler and Storm sandwich her in between themselves. Chris and I broke into a run and jumped on the stage. We each grabbed a guy I a headlock and started to strangle them.     Within a couple minutes we had taken them out and we all turned to check on Crisa, but she was gone and when I looked to where I last saw Jonathan he was gone as well. Storm ran the way came in while I ran the other way leaving Chris and Tyler to check for casualties. I knew Crisa was hurt even if I didn’t know how bad it was. I really didn’t want her to face him on her own even if I believed that she could handle it. I started to call out her name hoping she could give me a clue as to where she is, but I didn’t receive a response. I looked for a couple minutes before finding it to be a dead end so I turned around and went the way that Storm went.       I found her talking to Tristan with Storm standing off to the side. I rushed to her and pulled her into a bone crushing hug. Soon enough Tyler and Chris joined the hug trapping her between us like we used to when we were younger. Crisa suddenly looked at me and before passing out said, “I love you.”  I’m not going to lie I started to freak out. Tyler and I were holding her up when Storm walked over picked her up while telling Tristan to call the doctor. Chris was already on his way out of the door to get a car. Tristan let Storm know that the doctor would be there when we arrived. Storm told Chris to let Tristan drive since he knew where to go. We all got into the bed of the truck and held on tight while Tristan raced to our destination.
