Chapter Eighty-Six: Crisa

Xander chuckled and helped me off the couch and we made our way inside. I text Storm to ask him to pick up five pizzas and leave them with the security guy at the gate. I knew that someone would be there to stop him when he got home. I had Xander tell one of his guys to be there and sent him pictures to send to him so he knew everyone that was supposed to be coming. After that we made our way into the kitchen I started boiling the potatoes. I decided to make some baked Mac and Cheese so I got started on that as well. Once that was ready to go in the oven I had Thane put it in and I had Xander drain and mash the potatoes. Zanthus went out and started the grill while the kids carried out the Steaks and corn for him. Turns out they didn’t have much homework today so they decided to help out. They made sure to set the table up nicely and stock the fridge with plenty of different drinks. They even set up a table and chairs in the garage with a stocked fridge. So Zanthus and Xander let their guys know about the fridge with drinks and that pizza was on the way.
As Zanthus and the kids were bringing in the food the front door opened to reveal Thalia, Storm, Chris, Tyler, Tristan, and Taylor. This was perfect everyone was and the food was nice and hot. Storm came over and gave me a kiss before taking the tray out of my hand and taking it to the table. I stood in the doorway as I watched everyone take there seats and I couldn’t help the smile that was on my face. Storm motioned me over to sit next to him before getting everyone’s attention and saying, “tonight we are all here to celebrate. Crisa and I will be adding to our unconventional family. We are expecting twins that are due in March.” Everyone had shocked expressions on their faces and leave it to Tyler to ruin the moment by saying, “oh so that’s why you stopped working out and started eating a lot making you gain weight.” I grabbed Storm’s hand to calm him down while Chris and Thane both slapped Tyler on the back of his head.
I just ignored him and started passing the food around. Tyler has always pointed out my fluctuation in weight and I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t pay attention to him. Although he has never been as open in front of others when he has. Everyone else followed my lead and started loading their plates as well as offering their congratulations. I had a feeling that tonight was going to take a turn for the worse. We were halfway through our meal when Zanthus’ and Xander’s phones both started going off. I knew that tone so I got up while telling the kids to get up and go down to wait for me by the gym. Everyone started looking at me weird except Zanthus and Xander. They just took out their phones and started giving orders. I told Thane to show the guys the pantry before grabbing Thalia’s arm and walking downstairs with her. When I got to the kids I had them follow me to the secret room in my office so that we would all be safe. The girls were all scared while the guys all were on alert looking for danger. Once the room was sealed I pulled up my cameras so I could watch what was going on with the boys while Thalia distracted the girls for me. It bugged me to have to hide down here, but I had to worry about the babies. I couldn’t put them in danger by joining the coming fight. Within seconds of turning on the screens we could see the group trying to approach the house from the back.
