Kealohalani POV Mindlink: Mom Makana- “It is safe to come out. Ikaika, Kaleo, Kealoha, Kahi and Naomi meet us in the ball room. I gripped onto my siblings in total fear. He wasn’t dead, that much I knew. I still felt him. *Please Tutu, I beg of you.* “It’ll be okay, Kealoha. You’ll see.” Naomi whispered, as we all exited the safe room, as the others made their way to the kitchen. Awaiting instructions. We made a few minutes' walk and as soon as we got to the door I smelled him. My wolf whines in need. *Ema, please. You know he isn’t a good person.* She whines louder, *but he is our mate. He’ll do anything for us, he’ll change for us.* I closed the link off with her, making her pout and pace within my mind. Naomi squeezed my hand as Ikaika, Kaleo took point, Kahi got to our rear. We entered and I couldn’t help it. My eyes immediately found him. My heart automatically knew exactly where he stood. He wasn’t restrained. What the hell? I found myself unable to look away as his stance was confident. His watchful eyes drank me in and I couldn’t help but get lost in them for a bit. His eyes were the darkest I've ever seen in a man. The deep abyss of eyes swallowed me whole. He had cheekbones that showed his matureness, his jaw line the same. His thick hair was a complete mess, it made him look dangerous. Dangerously sexy. Dark locks fell against his face, giving him a deeper, darker look. I let my eyes roam when I felt my father's power. I faced my father and blushed. They just watched me ogle him. Uggh! “Kealoha, my sweet girl. Are you okay?” I stepped towards my mother and she held me like I was going to leave her. “I don’t know.” I have always been honest with my parents. And even if I wanted to, I couldn’t lie. She and grandma Sage were there. “I know what you feel. And it is completely well-founded.” My mother pulled back and placed a loving kiss on my forehead. “I want you to close your eyes.” I looked at my mother, then followed her instructions. “Look.” I knew what she meant for me to do. She wanted me to use my magic. To read him. My initial reading was filled with anger and fear. I felt his dark aura. I felt his intent. He wanted to take me. He wanted me. Even if he had to fight the entire kingdom, he wouldn’t leave without me. When I was young, I color coded my magic. Yellow means neutral. That whatever I was reading was not a threat nor was it a danger. Orange meant, be vigilant around this person. Red meant call for back up, restrain that person. Purple meant imminent threat. Too late. My first feeling of him was red. He came to seek harm. Oddly, now, my magic swayed between yellow and orange. What is this witchery? When I open my eyes, I look at my mom. She nodded and smiled. When my eyes turned back to my mate, his eyes were softer then when he had first made his appearance. “What’s happening? He was here too-I don’t know, but it wasn’t good. How-why has his aura changed?” I was so confused. My heart and Wolf begged for him. But my mind resisted any and all urges to accept what was happening. “He has been through a lot in his life. A lot of pain and trauma. You felt it?” I did. I still don’t understand it, but I felt it. So I nodded, expressing a little sympathy. I was still learning to use certain magic to it’s full potential. My magic to feel out his aura was almost at it’s best. But there were a little more kinks I was figuring out. “What’s your name?” I looked at my mate, who never took his eyes off of me. His Adams apple bobbed as he swallowed hard. What he did next was completely not what I expected from him. He bowed on one knee, “My name is Keahi, your highness.” I couldn’t help the smirk that played at my lips. “Dads?” All three of them looked at me, their concentration and anger diminishing in an instant. “Can Keahi and I have a minute. In private?” All three of my fathers growled, causing me to smile. “Would you like one of your siblings to stay with you?” Dad Alaric asked, his shoulders still squared. He didn’t want to leave me with my mate. Alone. “No. My magic senses no ill intent from him.” Dad Alaric let out a sigh, then nodded. “We’re a link away. The entire castle is surrounded. Your guards will be outside the door. I’ll let them know to not eaves drop.” Dad Dom spun me to him, taking me in. Then he turned to my mate, Keahi, and let a low sinister growl rumble through the hall, “harm her and you will die where you are found. NO ONE will be able to stop me.” Again, Keahi bowed, “hurting her is the last thing I want.” I couldn’t help the snicker that had left my lips, “couldn’t you have acted like this earlier?” I was kind of pissed now. He ruined the party. Even though I didn’t want one. There was a lot of preparation and work that was put into this shin-dig. “I-I apologize.” I shook my head at his apology, when my dad, Maika, placed a kiss on my temple and started leaving. Everyone followed him. “You want me to wait for you?” Naomi, my sweet sister Naomi, asked. “No, I’ll be okay.” She smiled and turned, only to have Blake there with his arms stretched out to escort her out. A blush spread from her neck up to her cheeks. I smiled, I couldn’t wait till she shifted and found that he was her mate. She deserves happiness, and he is the epitome of happiness. When everyone left, I turned to Keahi and sighed. He didnt say a word, he just watched me as I pulled a chair up and plopped, very un-princess like. It was only then I got a reaction out of him. He chuckled. “May I?” He asked, pointing to the seat beside me, for permission. I nodded slowly, now unsure of this. I soon realized the closer he got, the stronger his scent became. The stronger his scent became, the harder it was to resist. The stronger it was to resist, the weaker my will to reject him became. My breath rate picked up as he sat. His knee brushed mine and I gasped. Even with clothes between our skins, I felt a spark. We sat there in silence, for Goddess knows how long. When I decided to break it, I was unsure if I could. I was extremely uncomfortable. In ways I've never felt. Like, what do I say? The heck with it. Let's get personal. “How, how old are you?” I asked, my eyes staring straight at his face. It took a minute for him to answer, making me nervous. My fingers were fidgeting nervously. I listened as he inhaled a deep breath, holding it, then exhaled. “Nineteen.” Nothing else. He said nothing else! Ugghh! “Look, I-I want to be clear about something. I always say what is on my mind. And I won’t start holding back now. I've never wanted a mate....” a low growl vibrated the air between us. So I paused. I felt him trembling, his aura became high orange, just on the verge of red. So I scooted a slight inch away from him. “Why?” He asked, as he closed his eyes, and turned his head away. “I-I just didn’t or don’t think I need a man to dictate me. The bond, the mate bond, it’s magical. But it also dictates everything you do, feel, say. I want a life free of dictation.” I didn’t know why, but a lone tear fell as I pondered what I had just said. “I know I came across wrong when I got here, I know. But I beg of you, please. I-I cant live....without you. I’ll surely die.” Tears spilled more and I felt my heart c***k. My body reacted without my consent. I grabbed his hands and just held them. The waves of electricity that surged between us were powerful. Like a storm that held the fiercest electrical currents. Keahi turned to me, his eyes glistening with unshed tears. “Please. I’ll never ask you for anything. I just-I can’t live without you. You can live your life. I’ll keep my distance. Just please, don’t reject me.” He was pleading. *Kealoha? May I speak?* My wolf Ema asked. *Yes.* Ema: I will always abide by you. But if you do this, if you reject our mate, I cannot control what happens. I’m sorry. Kealoha: Is that a threat? Ema: No my dear. I’d never. But you know the repercussions of rejection, my friend. It is looked down upon by your own grandmother. I wish I could tell you to do as you want and I’ll support you, but I feel it already. If you follow through, our bond will cease to exist in peace. I had nothing to say. She was absolutely right. As the first born granddaughter of the Moon Goddess herself, I of all wolves know this. The repercussions will be terrifying. “Kealoha?” I was taken out of my conversation by Keahi’s voice. I looked into his eyes and knew what I had to do. “Okay. But please. Be patient with me.” I could see the relief instantly as his shoulders relaxed and a glint in his teary eyes sparkled with happiness. “I am sorry for ruining your party. I thought-I thought, because of who I am, I could never, or would never be invited. So I used your sister....” with that Ema and I growled. A surge of my power reached him that ended up pinning him down on the ground. How could I forget about that? “You slept with my sister?!” Ema was bursting at the seams. Everything started to blur. My mind was not okay. “What? NO I didn’t. Who told you that?” He was being pressed so hard by my powers his words were coming out labored. “She said, she said she lost her virginity to a man.....” He laughed, “well who ever that man was, it wasn’t me.” My eyes focused on him and what do you know? He was telling the truth. I released him and he struggled to catch his breath. “That was sexy and terrifying.” He stated as he still lay on the floor, his breath becoming more even. “Don’t!” I snapped. He smirks and sits up in his spot. “Sorry.” *sigh* “Stop apologizing. Please.” A cute, devilish smile graced his lips and I had to turn away due to the blush that was heating my cheeks. “So what now?” He asks. I looked at my watch and noticed that even though it felt like hours had passed, in reality, only an hour had been. “My parents, uncles, council and staff have worked the entire year working on this party. I guess the mature thing to do is continue with it.” “Huh-you sure you’re sixteen and not twenty? That is beautifully mature of you.” I felt my cheeks heat again at his compliment, and it flared more when his hand caressed my cheeks. Holy Goddess, that is some spark. “I follow your lead, my Queen.” I nodded and linked to my parents and council members. Everyone filed in, of course, my brothers and uncles as well. “He has something to say.” I announced, feeding him to the wolves. His head whips to me. “I do?” I nodded, giving him evil eyes. He catches on quickly and smiles, giving me a bow. “Your highness-es, council members, family of Kealoha. I would like to formally apologize for my recent behavior. I will make no excuses, because none would do anything I have said or done, right. I hope to be able to gain your forgiveness. I know it won’t be soon, but I promise to do better and hopefully gain your respect.” Keahi bows and I smile a contented smile. When he turned to me to check if he did okay, I smiled at him as a Princess does, allowing his shoulders to relax. “Hmm. For now that will do.” My Dad Dom, huffed out. “Kealoha baby, what do you want to do?” He asks. “I, Kealohalani Koa, accept Keahi....” I look at him, and strangely, he looks at my mom and my mom answers, “Morrison.” “I, Kealohalani Koa, accept Keahi Morrison as my Goddess-given mate.” All three of my dads groaned. Well, I was always going on about never wanting a mate. Then this i***t came in and made it difficult for anyone to understand further. Plus, my dad's are suckers for the whole mate bond thing. “I’ll always admire you my little angel.” My Dad, Maika, says, smiling at me. “Okay. Keahi?” With a stupid grin that seemed to completely obscure his eyes, Keahi took a few steps to go face to face with me. My heart pumped like a thunderous drum with him this close. His hands, that were calloused, scarred and some what looked like they belonged to a man who had done hard labor, enveloped mine. My head tilted down as jolts of electrical shocks were shared between us. With his other hand, he reached under my chin, tilting it up. His eyes met mine and it was then, with our bodies mere centimeters apart, our hands joined that I gave in to the pull. When he spoke, I was done. “I, Keahi Morrison, accept you, Kealohalani Koa, Princess of Wolves, bearer of my heart and soul, as my Goddess' given mate.” A light so bright illuminated the space around us. Every single one in attendance ooh’ed and ahh’ed. I felt the start of our bond, the tethering strand linking, and I sucked in a calming breath. When the light dimmed, my family, especially the females, cried. I don’t even remember when they arrived, but my grandparents were in attendance; aunts, uncles, and cousins. *I have never been so proud of you, my granddaughter.* An angelic voice chimed in my mind. When I looked at grandma Sage, she smiled and bowed. I bowed in return and looked at my mate. His smile was infectious. I think his smile has become my kryptonite. It made him look devilishly handsome. Not sure if it was the mate bond or what, but he looked so much younger now. We’re three years apart. But when he first made his presence known, he looked like he was in his mid twenties. He had a hardness in his appearance that made him older than what he is. Now, with him smiling, he looked nineteen years of age. “Dads, Mom, is it still possible to continue with the party? Ikaika and Kaleo are still finding their mates.” A loud huff came from my left and I stifled a laugh. I know it was Ikaika. “Are you sure?” Dad Dom asks. “I am. You all worked so much on this ball. It would be a sad thing to see it all wasted.” My dads, all three of them, beamed with a smile. “Your Dad, Alaric, forked out all the cash, so no loss to me.....” *smack* My mother smacked my Dad, Dom on the back of his head. “I was joking, Sweets.” He said rubbing the back of his head. Everyone around us laughed and slowly the council members had the party comers rejoin us. Councilman Garrett and Greyson both extended deep apologies. I could see all the wondering eyes. Eyes that would stare, not rudely, but enough to make me send a glare back. No one dared to speak of the events that happened. When they leave, I am sure I will be the talk of the entire wolf community. From one person's lips, a million minds will wonder. Some will get the drastically muddled and exaggerated stories, and the rest the real ones. It didn’t matter, my mate and my unification and how it happened will be the next decades' gossip. ******** Naomi POV The night started off crazy. It wouldn’t be normal if something crazy didn’t happen. But tonight? I know it will be written in scrolls for generations will read about. The moment I heard Kealoha accepting Keahi as her mate, to say I was in complete shock, was a complete understatement. What happened while they were in private? What kind of sorcery was he playing? I mean, she was dead set on rejecting him. Like, DEAD SET. When he apologized to the entire family, everyone could see it. There was a shift in him. His voice. His aura. I am not special like my sister and brothers. Neither are Nahe or Nanea. But as Royals, we held certain limits of royal powers to allow us to feel when a threat is a threat. Feel like when a person is off. Keahi was. He was off. Ugly. This Keahi, he was sympathetic, remorseful. Completely different from the arrogant, cocky, asshole he came in as. The rest of the party went off without a hitch. Thank Goddess. Poor Kealoha’s mate-show was enough to last us a long a*s while. The mate dance, with Kaleo and Ikaika, fell through. None of the female attendants that were here seemed to be their mates. I chuckled when the dances were over. Ikaika was brooding, mumbling his displeasure the rest of the evening to who ever would listen. Mostly me. However, I didn't mind. Blake stood either by me or close by all evening. His eyes always making sure he knew where I was. He and I danced, I felt what felt like a static when his hands touched my exposed skin on my back. It wasn’t strong, but it was enough to bring more solidity to us being mates. Lia and Devon were getting along great. And if anyone asked me, they were definitely mates. I think they knew too, I mean, we all turn sixteen in a few months. So our wolves are already present and knows. Its just we’ll have to await to shift to feel that tall tale of the pull. It was getting really late. My mother and fathers were all still being the most gracious hosts. How were they able to still be so full of energy? I was ready to get to my room and pass out. They ran two entire species. Their work ranged from tending to packs and their grievances, all the way to pack wars between packs or rogues in the wolf kingdom. And for my dad Alaric, he tended to the vampire kingdom as well. My mother never showed any signs of being over stressed, over worked or exhausted. I know her powers help, as well as her vampirism, but she is still part wolf and a little bit human. The body and mind needs rest. In our household, someone was always off island. One of my dads was usually missing a couple days out of the week. Sometimes my mother along with them. They over saw every pack and coven world wide, everyday. Days starts at four a.m. for the four of them. I swear at times it doesn’t end. I felt guilty everytime they insisted on my siblings and I go and get rest, because they never did. And one day, we will be taking over. So, I sucked it up and smiled like a princess. I'll thank my grandmother everyday for blessing me with the best parents. Even though they’re not my biological family, they are through and through, my ohana. “Tired?” I look up to my right to see a dazzling Blake. “Yeah. But, I’ll be okay.” He smiles and nods. “By the way, I never got to tell you. You look absolutely beautiful tonight.” I blush and swear my heart thumped double time. “Thank you. I've gotta say, a suit on you looks good too.” He smiles and blushes a light blush, causing butterflies to course through my stomach. What the hell? We chatted. I had ordered a hot cup of tea, but seems it got forgotten. “Did you see the waiter? I never got my cup of tea.” I ask Blake. He furrows his eyebrow, a low growl leaving his chest. “It’s okay. It happens at these events.” I knew he was upset that someone rudely and disrespectfully left me unattended too. “I’ll go get it. I’ll be right back.” I nod, giving him a thank you and he left in search of someone to retrieve my tea. I was sitting on our families table, just enjoying the sight. When finally a tall male waiter came with my tea. “My apologies.” I glared at him, causing him to bow lower, “I’m sorry, your highness.” All the staff, unless given permission, is to always address us by title or ‘your highness.” It’s been decreed. It is law, that the entire wolf race to do so. So to hear him greet me so disrespectfully, caused my nobility to get irritated. He shook in fear, so I recanted my power and waved my hand to dismiss him. My aunts and uncles were dancing, and having a grand ol’ time. My mom and Dad Dom were swaying, getting to close for own eyes. But still, their bond was so beautiful to me. All three of my dads worshiped my mother. And she deserved to be worshiped. She was a walking Goddess. I sipped my tea, enjoying the hot earthy flavor as it warmed me from the inside out. I was gazing out over the dancing crowd when I felt a weird sensation pass through me. Then, without warning, a cold chill seeped into my spine. I looked around and didn’t see or hear anything, so I calmed myself down and kept party gazing. Then, it happened again. I stood up and went to walk away from the, what I see now is a pretty deserted part of the party. Upon standing, I swayed, my equilibrium was off. When I was able too, I took two weary steps, when a voice stopped me. “What is a beautiful creature like you sitting here all alone?” He was noxious. Not just his scent, but his whole being. It was revolting. ROGUE. I tried to mind link but found myself hitting a wall. What the f**k? I stepped back away from him when my vision spun. I could feel a glut of weakness start to take over my conscience. “Wh-what...what is...” I didn’t know what happened next. I know I heard growls. I know I heard screams. But it was all dream like. I could feel my strength leave my body just as I felt a spark of electricity. Then nothing. Pure darkness. ******* Kealoha POV Keahi and I sat for a while, getting to know one another, a time or two I asked certain things, all he would do is sigh. He’d give me some kind of answer. One that neither, denied nor agreed to the question. I’d catch his jaw twitching at some, but for the most part it’s like he was hiding something. I kept letting my magic roam around him, but there was no deceit really. Fear, anxiety but nothing to indicate lies. “You sure you’re only sixteen?” He asked out of the blue. “Duh.” He laughed. “You’ve been speaking so eloquently, until now. I wasn’t sure if your age was just a hoax. Again, until just now.” He laughed and took a sip of his wolfish drink. “What do you mean, until now.” He smirked, “you’ve used words that I had to search within this dome, for the definition. You’ve been so reserved in your actions, until the ‘duh.” He laughed again and I couldn’t help but laugh along with him. “It’s strange. You seem so put together. So well mannered. Unlike any teens I know. Say your sister Nahe. She is exactly what a teenager is. Childish.” I chuckle. “Nanea and Nahe-“ *sigh* “they've always been very distant. Not sure if that’s the best word to describe them but they've always just stuck to one another. I wasn’t always a good big sister. I've always been into my studies, my royal duties and assuring my siblings were for the most part, put in their place.” I sigh again wondering if I had shown more interest in their lives, share in their likes and dislikes, if they’d be different. Im woken up out of my wonders when Keahi grabs my hand. “Your sisters, even though I used them, they've....how do I put it? They're very intriguing.” He laughs but got serious. “It took a lot of strength to not kill them.” I gasped. “Hear me out. The reason I say this is they are not who you all think they are. They may be fifteen, but they are sharp in ways that only evil follows. I can’t count the amount of times they've conspired to seek pain on you or your sister Naomi.” I could feel a lingering pain etch in my rib cage. I thought my sisters were just going through a phase. What they did to Naomi, that is as evil as it comes in my book. But to hear that they have actually planned to seek harm upon me, and Naomi. The dams over flowed. “I’m sorry. I am so sorry.” Keahi took me into his arms and held me as I cried at the loss of affection for and from my sisters. “Kealoha?” I look up to see Ikaika, his eyes, flaring with anger. Anger aimed at Keahi. “No brother, he is not the cause. Tomorrow, i’ll tell you. Or we’ll tell you and dads everything. But I’m okay. Just hurt about Nahe and Nanea.” Recollection came to him and his shoulders slumped forward. “Oh,” is all he said. “Need a drink?” Keahi asked Ikaika. Ikaika shook his head, “I’m going to go check on Naomi. You too, uh-yeah-stay in sight.” He walked away, leaving both Keahi and I in laughter. “You guys don’t drink? I mean, we’re no humans. Most of us wolves drink from twelve years of age.” He says, noticing none of us Royal children drinking. “No, we like our senses and wits to be hundred percent at all times. Even if we burn the alcohol off fast, in that brief moment in lapse of judgement, an entire war could be lost.” He nods then places his drink on the table. Where it remained for the rest of our time we sat there. A sudden mind link alarm went off, *SEAL THE DOORS! ROGUE!* Ikaika screamed. In a blink of an eye, in vampire speed, the entire room was sealed. *GUARDS!* Ikaika boomed. “ON OUR LIFE WE SWEAR!* They echo’ed back. My parents, especially my fathers were snarling, commanding the intruder to come forward. Lucas, Pika, Mason, Katey, Hana and Dre, Naomi, Lia and I’s personal guards surrounded me. Lia had stepped in the protective barrier of elite warriors and they slowly backed us up towards the larger group of our family. I gasped, “Keahi, my sister.” He gave me one curt nod as he, Lucas and Blake took off at the location I had sent them. I was a mess. A rogue. In our midst. How? I let my magic free, let it roam. Then I felt it, my stomach churned. My head turned to where I felt Naomi, just at the same time my mother had, when Ema and I growled a pulse so strong and intense, blasting out. Causing everyone other then my family, to bare their necks. A loud howl tore through not just the ball room, but our hearts. Blakes wolf was in agony. My breaths were labored, "no, no...Noami? No!" Just then, my magic swpet back. Confirming......
