Guy Time

Ikaika POV I am going to be king next year, but with everything that is happening, my excitement, my pride, my whole being, has ceased to want it any longer. I needed a break. I needed to clear my head from it all and the only place I found solitude was down by the shore. So, I grabbed a fishing rod, some gear and bait and left the castle grounds. I was traveling along some back roads on foot when I came across a family, looking completely lost. “Aloha, you guys alright?” The older gentleman peeked up from his phone and sighed. “Thank God. We’re lost.” The woman to his left let out. I chuckled, “where are you guys trying to head too?” The man looked at me, eyeing me with hesitation, which in these country parts was a smart thing to be. “We have family in the lower Kalapana area. Just can’t seem to catch the cell signal for our maps to work.” The overly friendly woman shares. “Well, I live not far. Maybe I can help. Do you know the street or the subdivision?” “Kalapana Gardens. Here.” The woman grabs the phone from what I assume is her husband, and who still looked questionable with my presence and tossed it to me. “Ah, yeah you guys passed it some miles back. Head back three or so miles. It’ll be the red-cinder road on your right. Heavy winds blew the sign down. But look for the lot of stray dogs hanging around the entrance. From there, you’ll take the first left. If I'm counting right, you’ll find the house a little ways in from there.” I toss the phone back to the man and he smiles grateful. “Thanks.” His wife rolled her eyes, “men and asking directions. What a cliche?” We all chuckled and I bid them a good day and went to leave when the husband's next question had me pause. “We’re staying with the Apia (ah-pee-ah) ohana. Second cousins. You know them?” We knew them. They were but a few humans in our territory who despised anything supernatural. Wolves most. We’ve lived in peace for some time now. They mostly stayed to themselves after one of their ancestors had tried to pitch-fork a non-aggressive, minding his own business wolf. He was killed by that wolf in self-defense but the damage was done. Wolves became their number one enemy, but they refused to leave, even though thousands of wolves lived around them. “I do. Desmond, Kira and I went to school together.” The man’s eyes wandered around my body stature, and I could see it when he had found his answer. “You’re a wolf?” “I am. What of it?” I countered. I couldn’t get a good read on him. But if he's related to the Apia family, then they were not friendlies. “Your kind killed my great grandfather.” The hostility in his voice didn’t go unnoticed, so I let my wolf surface. “I'd be careful about how you act in these parts. We don’t take kindly to disrespect on wolf lands. We allowed your family to stay due to some treaty put in place, but make no mistake that any sign of disrespect or aggression will not be tolerated. We’ve lived in peace with your family now for two generations. Let’s not set the clock back to zero, shall we?” My wolf, Nui (new-ee) and I let our hackles rise. His wife seemed to be the smart one and smacked her husband before he could do anything stupid. “Knock it off. We are not like your ancestors. So help me, I’ll f*****g start this car and leave your a*s here if you start s**t!” Her threat didn’t go unnoticed. He backed down immediately and gave me one last glance before jumping in the car and they drove off. Shit!? What the hell was that about? That serves me right. Mind my own business next time. ****** Kaleo POV Ikaika had invited me to go fishing with him, but I wasn’t feeling it. I haven’t been feeling much of anything lately. “YO! Get your a*s up! We’re heading out.” Oliver came bursting through my door. “No man. Thanks, but don’t feel like it.” He scoffed, “I didn’t ask. You need to get up and get out of these f*****g four walls. So get dressed. We are going to Bullseye.” He was sitting on the edge of my bed, scrolling through his phone waiting, and I knew I’d never get rid of him, so I got my a*s up and got ready. Levi decided to join us. Not out of his own volition though. It didn’t take long for us to get ready. The three of us made our way to Bullseye. A game room s***h club s***h bar room all the pre-adult wolves hung out in. When we arrived, the scene was chaotic. I had totally lost track of my days, for if I remembered it was a Friday night, I’d never have agreed to come here. Every wolf from a forty mile radius was there. s**t! It didn’t matter if I was a prince. In the sea of bodies, no one could tell who was who unless you said it out loud. And in this atmosphere, I wanted to stay under the radar as long as possible. “VIP is set up. Let’s go.” I rolled my eyes. It wouldn’t be an ‘Oliver’ night out if we didn’t do VIP. He took his seniority to the head. He demanded respect. Not rudely, not all the time anyway. But in this atmosphere, he’ll be the biggest douche for sure. We got up to the second floor loft that looks over the entire club. Holy s**t! It had to have been over capacitated. A group of wolves entered with trays of different beers. One of the ushers wheeled in a cart of different hard liquors and a bucket of syringes filled with wolfsbane to spike our drinks. “Drink up fools!” Oliver hollered over the blaring sound of Bruno Mars ‘Versace on the Floor’ DJ remix-mash up. Just then, I get pulled into a mindlink, (Begin mind link) Ikaika- “Where are you guys at?” Me-“Oliver dragged me to Bullseye. Please tell me you’re coming.” Ikaika-“Yeah. I just got back from fishing. Be there in an hour. Got something to share.” Me-“If possible, make it half an hour.” Ikaika-“That bad, huh?” Me-“You have no clue, man. We’re in Oliver fashion.” Ikaika-“VIP?” Me-“What else?” Ikaika-“Be there in a half hour.” (End mind link) Oliver threw back drink after drink, all laced with five milliliters of wolfsbane each. It was twenty minutes and he was already being the f*****g biggest douche ever. His disrespect for the opposite s*x caused me to step in twice. Levi helped me control his brother, but got punched once. “Oliver, cool it man. Don’t f*****g make me use my Alpha prince command man.” “You are all a bunch of p*****s. The whole f*****g bunch of you. You all allowed s**t to happen that I’d never allow. Heads would fly if it was my sister. But no! You fucktards just sit and wait to be told what to do. What to think? What a f*****g joke of princes.” His slur was obvious. And I knew right now, liquid-liquor courage had taken charge. It didn’t matter because the one who would and could put Oliver in his place let it be known of his arrival, my brother, Ikaika. His growl, while so subtle as to not cause a scene, was very notable in the VIP room. “Watch your f*****g tongue Oliver. Speak again in that manner, f**k around and find out. Apologize. NOW!” Ikaika didn’t give a f**k about using his Alpha-Prince command on Oliver. “I-uh-s**t I'm sorry man.” I rolled my eyes. “Truth?” I asked, he nodded as Ikaika was still standing stiff in the entrance of the VIP lounge, “your words are true. I do not deny that I have been negligent in my sister's case. I should act more, but I am not you. I do not have that balls out- go out in a fit of glory-like attitude. I wish I did. But I don’t.” The room fell silent when Ikaika finally entered and took a seat next to me. Not before grabbing him a shot and a beer. “Look, I brought you all out to let loose. I’m sorry for my mouth. How about we forget my dumb a*s and just have fun. Tonight, forget about all our problems and just have fun. Like we used to too.” Oliver held a glass up. “You’re an i***t, but I agree.” Levi laughed. We all raised our glasses and all toasted, “cheers! To us. Cheers to the heroes we will be when we bring down all the evil that comes to our family, our people and our packs.” After that, we knocked back drink after drink. By twelve midnight, the entire club knew the royal family was in the house and I wasn’t mad about it. Levi and I picked up some girls from the dance floor. We were dancing when a scent so strong not just hit my nostrils, but went straight to my soul. “Yo! What’s wrong?” Ikaika was at my side in an instant. “MATE!” ******** Introducing Levi POV “MATE!” was all I heard Kaleo say when, at the same time, I smelt the sweetest candy smell, “MATE!” I shouted. Ikaika looked at Kaleo and I in awe. “Are you two f*****g kidding me? It better not be the same she wolf!” Oliver made his way through the sea of bumping bodies. “What’s happening? Levi?” “They found; well not technically; but they smell their mates.” Oliver's eyes shot at me. “Yo! A bit early, eh?” I nodded, “Yeah. I don’t know what’s happening, but f**k I smell her. It’s my mate.” Oliver nodded but I could see he was tripping. I don’t turn sixteen for another two months. Same as him. “Oliver come with me. I need to find her. Ikaika go with Kaleo, to find his mate. Meet back up at the VIP.” I shouted out. Everyone agrees and we head off in different directions. Even with all the sweat, body odor, stale alcohol odors, hers was all I could smell. Like cotton candy and candy apples. My favorite. Oliver parted the sea of people for me and when we got twenty’ish feet from her my knees almost gave way. She was with some girls but I could pick her out of a thousand at any given time. She was absolutely beautiful. “Which one?” Oliver asked. “Ehu (eh-who) hair, black off the shoulder top, jeans.” Oliver looked and nodded. “Bombshell.” I couldn’t help the growl that left my chest. “Cool it bro. Not my type.” I shook off the possessive mate thing and just stared at her. I watched as she rubbed her nose several times, but did not react to it. Was she not a shifted female? Aw-man, if she isn’t, this is going to be hard. But then her nose twitched one last time and her eyes immediately found mine. A perfect smile graced her face and, like two forces, forced to become one, we approached one another. “MATE!” She gasped, “Hi. Mate.” Her voice was the only one I could hear. Just like her scent, her voice was all that mattered. “Okay, bros. Uh-hi, I'm Oliver, this guy, brother.” I heard my stupid brother say to my mate. Without paying any attention to Oliver, we both introduced ourselves, “I’m Kahala.” My heart swelled hearing her name, “I’m Levi. Would you care to join me in the VIP lounge?” Her eyes bulged, “Wait, VIP? But the Prince’s and the Alpha’s are up there.” I smirked, and when it clicked, she gulped in what seemed to be fear and disbelief. “Let me reintroduce myself, I am Levi. The second born, royal alpha, chooses to be beta of the court. Pleasure to meet you Kahala.” Her eyes never left mine, but I could still feel her hesitation. When I saw her gesture to bow, I placed a finger under her chin, “no my Luna. You don’t ever bow to me.” Her friends who were watching gasped in shock, “her, a Luna?” Oliver turned to the four girls, who I thought were her friends and gave them a look to ‘f**k around and find out,’ as he kept saying all night after Ikaika had threatened him with the same saying. “Pardon me, Alpha’s. She’s my omega.” I scoffed, like that was supposed to deter me from wanting Kahala. “And? Wait, before you continue, let me warn you, speak ill of her and you’ll answer to the royal council. She is my Luna and will be treated as such.” The girl obviously had no brain, “well, she’s just an omega. A prince should be with someone who knows people, who knows how to talk, and knows how to rule.” Oliver looked over to me and we both burst out in a fit of laughter. “Let me guess, you think you should be with one of us?” Oliver chided. She gave a ‘duh’ look and we burst out in laughter again. “And that is why you will never be a suitable Luna. Your personality is ugly.” I turned to Kahala who had since tilted her chin down to the ground in submission. “You don’t ever, nor will you ever submit to anybody again...” I tilted her face up to mine, when her eyes reached mine, “but me.” Her blush spread like a wild flower, tinging her neck all the way up to her cheeks. “Now, ladies. Have a good evening. Kahala?” I reached for her hand and she willingly took it. The tingles and electricity that shot all over my body had me wanting to mount her there and then. And through her eyes, I felt she felt the same. I guided her through the parted sea of bodies, all who were now showing royal respect to us, back up to the VIP lounge. I sat her down and got her a glass of water. I tried an alcoholic beverage, but she voiced that she was not a drinker, which turned me on even further. “Now, how about we get to know one another.” Her smile was small, shyness seemed to be a big part of who she is. That or mistreatment of her pack, and if I find out their omega’s are being mistreated, they’ll be getting a royal visit. ********** Kaleo POV Who would have thought two of us coming here tonight would find their mates? Levi is still a shocker. He still hasn't shifted, so he’s maturing quicker than he should. It happens. I never thought Levi would find his mate before Ikaika or Oliver though. When we parted ways from Levi and Oliver, Ikaika remained by my side. His demeanor was casual and confident. Which was odd. He was always confident, but casual? Nooooo, not quite. Formal. Yes, always formal. “What’s up with you?” I asked as we followed my senses. “Nothing. Let’s focus on you and you finding your mate.” I shrug it off as Ikaika being the big brut that he usually is. I was just losing hope, I was even doubling around twice, when the smell of the sweetest mango passed me by. Just as I was about to scream mate, a tall beautiful exotic queen of a Hawaiian girl whispered, “no!” I stumbled, feeling the sense of rejection from her. My eyes didn’t hide my fear. This I know because when she saw it, her sadness mimicked mine. In complete shock, “Why?” was all I could get out. She fidgeted from foot to foot, unable to keep eye contact with me. “As Prince of Wolves, I order you to answer.” My pain was causing me to be angry. Moreover, her continuing silent rejection was hurting and she hadn’t even given me a chance yet. “I can’t.” Her words were laced with remorse, but her body language spoke volumes of fear. “You’re scared. Why?” She looked everywhere else but at me and it didn’t take long for Ikaika to step in. “My brother, your prince is talking to you.” His voice was soft, but he had a lot push behind it, that even if she tried to resist, she couldn’t help but to answer. “I am obligated to someone. I can’t be seen. I’ve already taken too long as it is. I must go. Please.” I couldn’t form a coherent response. So, because of my lack of one, she ran off into the crowds of dancing bodies. “Kaleo?” My wolf and I were in turmoil. Pain, confusion, anger, were all I could feel. Then Tonio stepped forward, “find her.” Ikaika stepped in front of us, “ Brother, calm down. Tonio, it’s me. Calm down and then we’ll go look for her.” But Tonio wasn’t having none of it, “Get. Out. Of. Our. Way. NOW!” Ikaika bowed and stepped aside, “as you wish, brother.” Tonio was at the helm. His anger rose the closer we got to our mate and the mingling odor surrounding hers. Then, when we broke through the bout of bopping teenagers, there she was, sitting on some bastards' lap. Crying, holding her face. If I was mad a minute ago, I was about to blow s**t up now. “GET OFF OF HIM NOW!” My command wasn’t weak, it was my royal command. She stood without blinking and I could now see why she was holding her face. On her left cheek was a hand print. A roar so loud bellowed out of me, that the masses in the entire building fell to their knees in submission. Calmly, and not realizing what I had done to bystanders, I strode the three steps towards my mate and gently offered my hand for her to stand. At first she didn’t take it, her fear was radiating off of her in tsunami waves. “I’ll never hurt you. And you will never have to fear anyone, ever again. MATE.” With those words, the asshole she was sitting in the lap of, turned his eyes towards my mate. Shock and anger lingered in them. In one pulse of internal power, I had him on his knees and his neck bared in the ultimate submission position. My powers were swirling, my anger boiling over the tipping point. I leaned over to him, “you touched what doesn’t belong to you. You hurt what is most precious to me. She. Is. Mine. My. Queen. Who you will never lay your eyes on again,” I growled. I felt a hand on my shoulder and when I realized it was Ikaika, I rose to a standing position. “Brother, reel it in.” At those words, I stopped and looked around. The entire club was in full submission, including Oliver, Levi and his mate. Immediately, I pulled it back and everyone was gasping for air. Some females sobbed in fear. No one's eyes dared to linger in my direction. No one’s thoughts even dared to think anything but respectful thoughts. And, immediately I felt remorse for what I had just done. “I apologize. Please, I am not to be feared. Please, carry on. DJ? Music. Bartender? One round on me.” On cue, the DJ played music, bartenders and waitresses went around serving drinks. And soon, the party goers had already forgotten what had happened. My focus went back to my mates--friend. “Now, back to you. What’s your name and what is a human doing in a wolf bar?” His smirk lingered only for a second when I let my royal power pulsate around him. Even if he wasn’t a wolf, my aura affected him. How? Why? I don’t know. But he will show some damn respect. Once again, I let my aura surround him and only him. Forcing him to submit. “My name is Luke and I am half human. Half wolf. My human side is my prominent species.” His air was cut short when Oliver’s right hook collided with his stomach. “If I ever see you disrespecting a female, I’ll tear your f*****g hands off.” Luke nodded. And smartly, remained silent. “Take care of him. I need to tend to my mate.” I shouted over to Oliver, who had made his way down to us. He nodded and soon I was escorting my mate upstairs. I found my mate. Thank you Grandma.
