They didn’t have to wait as long as Drake had thought. The response came barely fifteen minutes later, but it wasn’t what Drake had been expecting.
“Ships coming through the jump point!” shouted Jensen. “A lot of ships. A hell of a lot of ships!”
“Head for the jump point,” ordered Drake. “Full speed. We’re going through!”
The ship surged forward, Sonia obeying his order immediately.
“Aye, Captain,” said Sonia. “But… are you sure? There’s a lot of ships in the way though they won’t have much time to recover and attack us. I think we’ll get through them without any problems and make the jump safely. That isn’t exactly the plan. We’re supposed to be losing!”
“I know, but it’s what I’d normally do in this situation. If we do anything too different I think they’ll smell a rat.
