As they approached the twelfth jump point before their destination Drake and Sonia were both on the bridge. This was the major one. When they passed through they would be in a network of jump points which formed a large dead-end. This jump point was the only way in… and so the only way out.
As they drew near Drake was relieved to see there was no wreckage near it. That made six jumps in a row without any signs of battles which was greatly easing his mind. Whatever war had been going on it seemed maybe it wasn’t related to the crystals after all.
He could feel the focus, the concentration, of the crew around him. Everyone was so dedicated to what they were doing it was creating a ship-wide feeling, one which was reinforcing Drake’s own thoughts rather than overwhelming them.
