Despite Drake’s concerns, all three shifts of shore leave passed without incident. Sonia reported back that Treng had apparently made no efforts to pass on information. Drake acted pleased, even though he had known it would be the case and the report reminded him of the horror he’d committed.
After leaving the station the Dagger had joined the large Federation fleet and was now following it to the first jump point.
“Captain,” said Dalesh. “We’re receiving a call from the flagship.”
“Put it through,” said Drake.
