004. Owned

SIENNA Lorenzo Moratti stood imposingly in the doorway. He didn't look like a customer who had just wandered into a dark, underground auction. He looked exactly like he owned the entire world. Flanking him on both sides were the towering guards who had dragged me here, but they didn't step inside. Instead, they bowed their heads deeply in absolute submission to him. Lorenzo didn't even glance back at them. With a casual, single flick of his finger, the guards immediately pulled the heavy steel door shut, locking us inside together. The loud, final click of the electronic lock echoed like a thunderbolt in the quiet room. "You look surprised, Bella," he murmured. His voice was smooth, carrying a calm, dark trace of amusement that made my heart race, but his eyes were completely devoid of warmth. He started walking toward me with a slow, measured grace, bringing an entirely suffocating presence into the room. He exuded the quiet, powerful confidence of a businessman who had just successfully closed a deal. I instinctively took a step back, until my lower back hit the edge of the crystal bar counter. I was trapped. "You—” I stammered, my voice trembling as I wrapped my arms tightly around my middle, trying to hide the sheer crimson lingerie. "You're the one who bought me?" A playful smirk stretched across his lips. "Fifty million is a small price to pay for a masterpiece.” He stopped just a few steps away from me, his towering frame completely blocking out my sight. He leaned in slightly, invading my senses with the rich scent of mint and cedarwood. God, he was devastatingly handsome. Anyone would die just to get close to this man. I couldn't imagine how I had ended up being bought by him when, just hours earlier, he had laughed in my face. The humiliation still prickled my skin. "But you rejected me," I choked out, my chest heaving with irritation. "You didn't want me, so why are you doing this?” He took another step, closing the space between us—and there, I could already feel the warmth radiating from his body. I was caught off guard, my eyes widening when his face moved closer. I actually thought he would kiss me. But he leaned close to my ear instead and whispered, "I don't do business in crowded rooms, Sienna.” His deep, baritone voice rolled over me, polite yet chillingly detached, while his cool breath brushed against my sensitive skin. He pulled back after that, and without warning, his large, warm hand reached out. He gently gripped my chin to tilt my face up to his. When his fingers touched my skin, a sharp glint passed through his eyes. His thumb brushed over my bottom lip purposefully—then his gaze darkened, revealing a man who was burning alive from the inside. But just as quickly as it appeared, he retracted his hand, dropping it to his side. The faint, dark trace of amusement on his face moments before instantly vanished, replaced by absolute apathy. "And I certainly don't let street thugs handle what belongs to me," he added, his voice completely stripped of all heat. But he didn't step back. In fact, his knife-like gaze slid down, tracing the tight line of the crimson corset, the bare skin of my waist, down to where my garter straps met the black fishnets. It gave me a hell of a lot of goosebumps. I didn't really understand what was going on with this man, or what game he was playing. But one thing was certain: I was completely at his mercy now. The silence in the room grew heavy, thick with a sudden, suffocating heat. "Fifty million dollars," Lorenzo murmured, his voice dropping an octave into a low, dangerous purr. He hadn't stepped back an inch, and when he made a slight move, his chest almost brushed against mine—forcing me to lean back hard against the crystal counter. "They called you an untouched beauty on that stage, Sienna. Tell me…” His intense gaze raked over my body before settling on my face. “... Is that a lie? Are you really a virgin?" My face burned hot with a mix of humiliation and a strange, terrifying jolt of adrenaline. "I—I don't lie,” I stuttered, avoiding his gaze. "We'll see," he whispered, a smirk playing on his face. His large hand rested on my thigh, his long fingers lightly brushing against my bare skin, just above the lace border of my stocking. His touch was feather-light, barely a whisper of friction, but it felt like scorching heat against my skin. A sharp shiver ran straight up my spine, and an involuntary gasp escaped my lips. Lorenzo’s eyes darkened upon hearing it, a predatory trace of satisfaction flashing in his features as he watched my reaction. He slid his fingers just an inch higher, his thumb lightly stroking the sensitive skin of my inner thigh. "You're too sensitive," he teased softly, leaning close to my ear. "If a simple touch makes you squirm like this, how do you expect to handle being mine?" I shuddered at his words, my hands gripping the marble counter behind me. My chest almost exploded from the loud beating of my heart. I wanted to push him away, but my limbs felt entirely melted under his gaze. I was completely undone. But just as the tension stretched to a breaking point—just as I braced myself for him to claim exactly what he had paid for—the heat vanished. Lorenzo abruptly withdrew his hand. He stepped back just like that, then crossed his powerful arms over his chest, as if he hadn't just turned my knees to jelly. It was terrifying how fast he could change. In a split second, the passionate, dangerous master disappeared, replaced by the completely detached, clinical billionaire businessman I had seen at the club. His eyes turned back to pure ice. "Enough games," he said, his voice entirely flat and stripped of all warmth. "Let’s discuss your role." I blinked, shivering from the sudden loss of tension, my mind scrambling to keep up with his pace. "My... my role?" "You wanted a deal, and I accepted the trade," he stated, walking over to the leather couch and sitting down, his posture relaxed but his aura completely dominant. "Your father's debt has been transferred to me. The street thugs who touched him have been dealt with, and your brother's medical care is secured. In exchange, your life belongs entirely to me. You are my property now." I wrapped my arms tightly around my exposed middle, trying to steady my voice. "W–What do you want me to do?" He didn't answer. Instead, his bottomless eyes locked onto mine with an intensity that made my breath catch. “You'll know soon,” he stated mysteriously, then rose from the couch, turning his back to me as he walked toward the heavy steel door. "Cover yourself," he commanded coldly over his shoulder, his voice completely unbothered. "The car is waiting downstairs to take you to your home.” I stood frozen on the ground, completely stunned. He had just dropped fifty million dollars on me, teased me until my knees shook, and now he was simply leaving me free?
