- Rieka’s P.O.V –
Ethan pulled me closer to him making sure I didn’t get hurt. My heart was beating really fast but so was his, our kiss grew into something deeper, and what I felt in that moment was something I’ve never experienced before.
Listening to him tell me about yesterday and how scared he got when he told me how much he cared about me, made me want to tell him the same thing.
“What was this for?” he broke our kiss and rested his forehead on mine.
I shook my head without saying a word.
“I wish you didn’t do it.” He said.
“Now letting you go will be harder, sleeping in this bed without you will feel empty,” he continued.
“One kiss did all this damage?” I smile my forehead still on his.
“When you know you love someone you can’t have, even a smile can cause them damage,” He explains and broke my heart at the same time.
“I have to go,” I pull back my face creating space between us and he nodded getting off of the bed.

I woke up next to the palace like last time so I don’t have a long way to walk. When I entered it from the garden so no one saw me, I was stopped by Josette. She pulled me aside and made sure no one was around.
“I told Malik you were asleep in my room because you weren’t in yours,” she said.
“You knew I was with-“ I spoke.
“Ethan? Yes, I knew, now go to my room carefully,” she said and I started walking away followed by her.
When we got to her room, I sat down on her bed and looked at her knowing she wanted to ask me something.
“How is it being a werewolf?” she asked while sitting down next to me.
“Its… dangerous,” I say touching my hip.
“But also amazing,” I continue.
“What about Ethan?” she asked.
“What about him?” I look at her.
“How does it feel being with the one you’re actually meant to be with?” she cleared up her question.
I thought of her question and my mind pictured him in front of me and I smiled thinking of what he told me.
“That good?” Josey said looking at my face.
“Shut up,” I chuckled.
“Anyway, let’s sleep,” she said after a second and we did just that.

The next day, I was in the garden for some fresh air when I felt someone grab me by the arm stopping me from going anywhere.
“Malik?” I look at him.
“No good morning?” he tilts his head.
“Good morning,” I smile.
“Why weren’t you in our room yesterday?” He asked crossing his arms.
“I missed you and didn’t want to stay alone so I asked Josey if I could stay with her,” I explained.
He nodded.
“I invited Ethan for dinner tonight, get ready,” he said and started walking away.
“You’re telling me this now?” I ask and he simply nods still walking away.
I sighed out of annoyance. What’s wrong with him?
I decided to ignore the situation and continued my walk instead of thinking of him and Ethan being in the same room tonight.
And it wasn’t too long before the sun went down and Malik and I were waiting for our guest to arrive.
“King Ethan, I’m glad you were able to come on such short notice,” Malik says shaking his hand, and Ethan nods.
“Your highness,” I bow my head greeting him and he does the same.
“Please, come in,” Malik guides him into the dining room.
I was still a bit skeptical as to why Malik would want to invite Ethan to our palace. There were no festivals or balls to discuss anytime soon so why invite him for dinner?
I thought of the possibility that he already knows about Ethan and me and is treating me the way he is for that reason. The helpers placed the food on the table while the two men were talking. They filled our glasses with wine and left the room.
“Please, Ethan, help yourself,” Malik says and raises his glass.
Ethan reaches the glass and takes it so he drinks it, however, the glass never made it to his lips. We all look at the ground to see the shattered glass surrounded by red wine. Ethan looks at the person who broke his cup and tilts his head.
“I’m sorry, I’m very clumsy,” Josey says with a smile.
“It’s okay,” He answers her with a straight face still looking at her.
Ethan looks at me before looking at Malik again.
“I’ll get you another glass, let me call the maiden,” Malik stands up.
“No, no need. Thank you. I have to leave anyway,” Ethan stops him.
“So soon?” Malik asks.
“I have a kingdom to rule, thank you for this evening,” he says and walks away.
“I will lead him out on your behalf,” I catch Malik before he followed Ethan. He nodded allowing me to go after Ethan even though his face was annoyed.
“Ethan, Ethan wait,” I call him.
He turns around when he heard my voice and waited for me to reach him as he was already outside the palace.
“What happened?” I ask.
“Is that girl who broke my glass related to you?” he asks.
“She’s my sister why?” I nodded.
“Your sister saved me,” he said and I knew he was angry from his tone.
“What do you mean?” I furrowed my eyebrows.
“That husband of yours must’ve put wolfsbane in my drink. When the drink fell a drop of it got on my hand and it burned me,” he explained.
“Why would he put wolfsbane in your-“ I thought then stopped.
“Unless…” I said looking at him with wide eyes.
“He suspects I’m a werewolf,” he continued my sentence.
“What are you going to do?” I ask him.
“There is nothing to do,” he shrugged.
“But we can’t see each other anymore. I can’t risk him seeing us or him following me to Crescent Moon,” he continued.
I didn’t want to stop seeing him but this was the only thing he could do until Malik’s doubts were gone. I just nodded agreeing to his plan and let him leave.
- Malik’s P.O.V –
I watched Rieka as she followed Ethan outside the palace and saw them talking for a few minutes making me suspicious. What could Rieka be talking about to Ethan? The man barely says a few words and now he’s having conversations with my wife.
I watched him walk into the woods after they were done and Rieka walked back in heading straight to the kitchen but I didn’t say anything and let her be.

I was currently in the warehouse analyzing what happened today. Josette throwing Ethan’s cup away from the way she did, him leaving directly afterward. Josette must have known there was wolfsbane in the drink for her to jump like that.
But why would she do that? Unless she knows Ethan is a werewolf and wanted to save him.
“I see your plan failed,” King Aaron walked in throwing the blame on me when all this was his idea.
“Yes, he left before he drank the glass,” I say not making a deal out of it.
“So, what will you do next?” he asked.
“I have a plan; however, it will involve your daughter,” I said thinking of something.
“Rieka?” he furrowed his eyebrows.
“Josette,” I shake my head.
He raises an eyebrow thinking of what I could be telling him but nothing he will come up with will be close to what I know about his daughter.
“What are you going to do?” He asks.
“I have an idea. It won’t be the best, but Josette definitely knows more than she tells us,” I tell him.
“Will it get you the Alpha King?” he tilted his head.
“Yes,” I nod.
The king approached me and stared at me with no emotions in his eyes.
“Do whatever you need to…” He spoke.
“Even if it meant hurting them,”
