TESSIE'S POV
I had just had my first-ever orgasm. I could swear I wouldn't have known what that meant before all this— before Jace had shown me. He was the perfect translation of show don't tell and he was really good at it.
What would Ava say about this? She would definitely be happy for me and want much more details like she had always told me. But then, this wasn't something I could just run to her with. It was really beginning to hit me. I had finally taken that step and had— well, almost had s*x for the first time yet I couldn't discuss it with my best friend. Where would I even start?
Oh, Ava! Guess what, I just experienced the best mind-blowing, shaking hardcore orgasm given by the boy you are crushing so hard on. I could already guess how that would go and I didn't want to find out. What was even more unappealing was the giant reminder I really didn't need at that moment that he was my stepbrother. No. I wouldn't think about that at that moment.
I turned towards where he was standing putting his shirt back on. My eyes explored the length of his body, my gaze getting lost in his toned muscles. If I was being honest with myself, I didn't want him to leave. Not at that moment. I was hesitant to do anything more than we had just done but inwardly, I wasn't so opposed to it. I found myself wondering what the next base would be like. Would he be as good and as gentle as he had been? Or would he unleash a beast I was still unaware of?
"What's going on in your tiny genius head?" he teased with a grin.
"My head is not tiny, jerk!" I teased back.
Jace chuckled and climbed back to bed leaning close to my face. His smile remained pasted there, his eyes undressing me. Or maybe that last part was just in my head.
"How about you come with me to the party?"
My heart skipped a beat. My eyes searched his nervously as the statement rolled over in my thoughts.
"With you?" I asked hesitantly.
"Yeah. Is that okay?" he asked hopefully. Maybe I had put too much thought into it and now my heart was running wild. "It will be nice to look across the room and see you."
"Oh," I smiled and chuckled nervously.
"You don't have to. This is just me being a little obsessive." He leaned in slowly and kissed me lightly. "Or I can go down there and kick everyone out so we can be alone."
My lips turned slowly progressing into a light smile. I felt my skin crawl at the thought of that. Maybe it was because he had said it out loud or maybe it was because I was anticipating his skills, I suddenly felt a thirst— a craving for his touch on my body once more.
"It's your call," he whispered against my ear.
I didn't even know why he was whispering but I felt the effect run through me as a sensational tingle. I gulped silently and closed my eyes. He was so close. His breath was beginning to wake up parts of my body again and I wasn't sure I wasn't going to give in this time. He traced his lips along my neck and jawline then stopped at my lips. I parted mine with a soft sigh.
Suddenly, someone knocked on the door loudly breaking up the moment. Jace retracted quickly.
"Tess?"
"That's Ava," I stated quickly in a low murmur suddenly panicking. Jace looked at the door and then back at me. "You have to hide, now!"
"It's okay, she won't suspect anything."
"You don't know that!" I stated desperately. "Ava has this talent to sniff out conspiracies and secrets. It is how she knew that her ex was cheating on her."
"Alright, I'll go to the bathroom. Don't let her stay long."
"Tess! I know you are in there. Can you let me in and stop hiding from me?"
Immediately Jace disappeared inside my bathroom, I got up and quickly got dressed. I opened the door and leaned against it feigning sleep. I yawned and ran a hand over my face.
"What is it?"
"You were sleeping?" Ava asked in shock. "We are at a party in your house and you are sleeping. What is wrong with you?"
"Nothing. I'm just not in the mood for a party or even a confrontation, Ava."
Ava sighed heavily, her shoulders drooping. She was upset. I didn't try to stop her even when she walked inside and dropped on my bed heavily. I pushed the door closed and joined her immediately noticing the frown lines on her face.
"What's going on with you?"
"I'm a reject."
"What?"
She sat up and met my eyes.
"I threw myself in front of Jace earlier and he turned me down. I know he said that he is not looking and he isn't interested in anyone but I can bet on my ass that he is somewhere in one of these corners feeling up some girl. Some girl who isn't me."
My eyes darted towards the bathroom door then back at her. Had he heard that? While it felt good to hear that he wasn't interested in anyone else felt good, I felt bad talking about that with Ava. I didn't want to be the one to suck in her sadness knowing too well that she had no chance with him.
"Feeling up some other girl. Did you hear that?" she repeated.
"I'm trying not to think about that too much. It's... It's—"
"Right. He is your brother, I almost forgot."
I swallowed. If only she knew that had been far from my mind until she mentioned it. I was just trying to not think of him making someone else feel what he had just made me feel.
"Where is he anyway? I haven't seen him in almost an hour. Do you know if he had a girlfriend before he came here? Maybe he is with her right now." She stood up quickly and started pacing. "How hot do you think she is? I'm guessing very because I can't see him dating anyone who doesn't at least turn heads like him."
You would be surprised, Ava. I thought inwardly as she went on and on.
"I wish I could see her. What does she have that I don't?"
"Ava, you are thinking about this too much. Maybe he didn't lie to you, maybe he doesn't really have a girlfriend and he is maybe only trying to take time for himself."
"Screw that!" Ava snapped. "A guy like him? Taking time for himself?" She scoffed. "He is a player and s*x is his middle name." I swallowed nervously and looked away. Was she right? "I know. I'm stupid. I know all that but I still want him to look at me that way."
Ava sat back down with a heavy sigh. Silence followed and I finally exhaled thinking that it was over. Well, that lasted for only a minute.
"Have you seen his ass? I bet he is really good at s*x," she stated dreamily.
"Ava!"
I had heard enough. This was too much because I now couldn't stop thinking about all those things. I could bet Jace was having the time of his life in the bathroom listening to her and I just couldn't have that. I stood up.
"Get up! Let's go to the party. You need a distraction."
That was more like, I needed a distraction but whatever. I couldn't say that because then she would want to know why. At the door, I turned and saw Jace opening the bathroom door slowly. He was grinning. I hesitated for a second before I closed the door and headed downstairs.
