Ethan
I needed to make sure that kaden was out of the way for good and tonight I would do just that. I have watched him for the past week and I knew his routine and tonight I waited outside where he worked. It was dark now so there was no one else around. I was dressed all in black with black gloves so there were no fingerprints.
I watched him as he approached his car. I pulled a two by two out form behind my back and swung. Catching him off guard. His body made a thudding sound as he fell to the ground beneath him. I swung it over and over and over again until I knew he wasn’t breathing. That will teach the asshole to mess with what’s mine.
I turned walking away throwing the two by two away no one would get anything off it anyway.
I got in my car and drove away. Once I got home I parked up and got out of my car and headed inside to the best smell ever. “Smells good.”
“You’re home.”
“I am. I’m going to grab a shower and I'll be down it smells great.”
She nods and I head upstairs and into the bathroom stripping my clothes and turn the shower on and clean the sweat of grime from the day away. I step out, turn the shower off, drying myself then dressing into my lounge wear before heading downstairs where Carly has already set the table. The food is already waiting as she walks in and we both sit down and eat. I compliment her on her cooking. She's the best cook I know. Better than my mother.
We talk a while about work and head into the living area. We both sit down and I drop my arm around her and pull her close, kissing her neck. “I love you, Carls. I'm sorry about the other day I was angry. I didn’t mean to snap at you.”
“It’s okay.”
“It won’t happen again, I promise.”

I head upstairs to get the washing out of the bathroom, I pick up the clothes that Ethan had left in there last night. He went to work early today and I’ve got the day off. I pick all the washing up and notice they are stained. I hold them up to the light and what I see looks like splattered blood but I can't be sure so I take them downstairs to the wash but I know one thing I can't ask Ethan about the stains so I’ll just wash them.
The front door opens and I wonder why Ethan is supposed to be at work today. I head into the lounge and Ethan is lounging on the sofa.
“Is everything okay?”
“Yeah it’s fine Carls.”
“I thought you were working?”
“I am, I had to grab some papers I left here by mistake. I just need five okay.”
“Okay.”
“Come here.”
I nod and make my way over to him. He takes my hand and pulls me onto his lap. “I love you, Carls. I know you don't feel the same right now but one day you will. I'll be the perfect father and husband I promise you will grow to love me.”
“What’s brought all of this on?”
“Nothing. I just wanted you to know that's all. The scan is in a few days. I can't wait to find out what we're having.”
I smile and the door bell rings. “I best get that.”
He nods and lets me go. I head to the door and open it two officers are at the door I recognise one of them he was one of Kaden's friends but Ethan didn’t know that.
“Hello officers, how can I help you?”
“Mrs Hollingway?”
“Yes.”
“Is your husband in?”
“He is.”
“May we come in and speak to him?”
“Yeah sure, come in.”
They both nod and step in.
“Who was at the door?”
“The police they want to talk to you.”
Ethan looks up at the two officers. “What can I do for you officers? I have to grab some papers and I need to head back to work.”
“We would like you to come down to the station for questioning.”
”What's it about this time?”
“Kaden Evans was attacked outside of his work Friday night.”
“I don't know what this has to do with me.”
“It’s just routine questioning Mr Hollingway then you can return home or work as long as you cooperate with us.”
He sighs. “Sure.” He gets up.
“What have you done Ethan?”
“Nothng Carls I’ll be back I promise.”
I nod and he presses a kiss on my forehead. The police men lead him out and I’m left with one. “Mrs Evans, have you noticed anything strange with your husband lately?”
I shake my head.
“A week ago he attacked Mr Kaden Evans outside The Black Crow and Mr Drake went after him to confront him he said nasty words to Mr Drake then a week later Mr Kaden Evans got struck from behind outside his work place when he was leaving work for the night. Can you think of any reason why your husband would have anything against Mr Kaden Evans.
“Nothing but he wasn’t too pleased when he tried to stop our wedding but he wasn’t the only one.”
“Was your husband acting weird the other night Mrs Hollingway?”
“No, he came home and had a shower before we ate.” She stood in silence thinking, was that the reason why his clothes were all bloodied. “I went up to grab the washing out of the bathroom this morning and I found some stains on his clothes which seemed odd.” , “Have you washed them yet Mrs Hollingway?”
“No not yet there in the kitchen Ethan came back before I had chance to.”
“Could you please take me to them.”
“Yeah sure.”
He followed me into the kitchen and I showed him the clothes. He put some latex gloves on and pulled a bag out, opening it. Picking the clothes up with some large twister things. He dropped them into the bag and zipped it up. “Thanks for your cooperation Mrs Hollingway.”
“Do you think he did it?”
“We won’t know until the forensics have done tests on these items. Thanks again.”
“No problem officer.”
“You can call me Dominic, your brother always does, no matter if I’m in uniform or not. I swear he likes goading me just like he did at school.” He says, shaking his head smiling.
That’s Kaden he was always goading me as well anything to rile me off and laugh at my expense at least now I know that I wanted the only one he did it to.
We head to the front door. “If you want to talk anytime Mrs Hollingway I’m here.”
“I don't know what you're talking about.”
“I’ve seen the signs before, domestic and emotional abuse isn’t pretty Mrs Hollingway get out before it gets worse.”
I nod and open the door. The other cop has gone so I guess they arrived in two cars so he could talk to me. sneaky little…
“Thanks again Mrs Hollingway we’ll be in touch once we know the results.”
I nod and he walks out. I watch as he places the evidence bag in the boot of his car and closes it before getting in and driving away. What if Ethan did this he’ll be in precision for a long time. I close the door hoping for the worst so I can start my life without him.
