“I. . . “ God yes. I meant every word. You made me mean every word. Yet I couldn’t force those words out, my chest tightening all over again as I felt my lungs beg for air. Jesus, why was this happening?! Both their eyes stayed glued to mine waiting for some kind of response. And I gave them one alright. I ran the heck out of there. “I gotta go.” Chase yelled out after me but I didn’t stop I just kept running. Running away from them, running away from my problems. How had everything in such a short space of time just imploded like this? HOW? I could feel the wind whip at my hair, my lungs aching for me to stop and just take a mouthful of air but nothing was stopping me. I needed to get back to that motel room, crumble down on the bed and just cry. That’s it, that’s all I needed right
