Mike leaned back in his chair and stretched, hearing something inside him crack just at the moment when his body felt better than it had all night. He hunched again over the keyboard to continue with his report, the rat-a-tat-tat of the keys reminding him that Ron was talking to him. “I guess we always liked this area of the city. Funny to think that this is where I’ll be finishing up.” Ron opened the top right drawer of his desk and pulled out a stapler.
