Chapter 59: Yours Next To Mine

2245 Words
Waking up beside Gray Alvarez has surely been an exciting part of opening my eyes, especially when it’s after a rough night. It’s just amusing to be greeted by such an angelic-looking face when he’s been nothing but a pure demon in bed. Besides that, I often wake up to him having everything prepared already. I had doubts that he had already cooked something, but I checked anyway. And it’s there. A tray of food that seems to still be hot along with a few notes. It’s just a part of the aftercare he always does, beginning from the time we’re done with it until I’ve recovered from the aftermath. That’s why, no matter how ruthless he is, I never really had to worry about an even rougher treatment. It’s very contrasting compared to his treatment towards me in bed, but I’ll definitely take it. “Oh, the bath’s also ready…” I muttered as I peeked into the bathroom, still carrying a loaf of bread. “Diaz…?” I immediately turned to the bed, only to see him sitting upright with his disheveled look. How is he already awake when he’s just gotten back to sleep? “Why are you there? Come back here…” he told me, his voice raspy. “Oh, yeah…” Almost seemingly mindless, I immediately hurried over to where he was sitting and sat on his lap. His hands immediately wrapped around my waist as he opened his mouth, asking for a bite. I let him take a bite from my loaf of bread as I flashed a charming smile. I can barely remember anything from last night, but I do know that he’s in a pretty good mood because of what happened. Right now, I’m trying to bury most of my thoughts in the farthest corner of my mind. “How long have I been asleep?” he asked as he nuzzled his face to my neck. “I don’t know. Probably a few minutes?” He groaned. “Minutes? Damn, that’s not enough.” “Why’d you wake up so fast, anyway?” “I couldn’t feel your body beside me.” Oh… “Well, sorry. I had to get myself together as a part of my morning routine.” I heard him snicker as he lightly bit my neck. He kind of likes doing that, so I gave him the luxury of doing so. I craned my neck to the side to give him more access while I finished my bread. Alvarez chuckled at what I did and planted feathery kisses on my neck. It tickled me a little, but I remained quiet while he did that. I only reacted when he began to nibble on my skin by grabbing his hair. “Hey, don’t do that! You already gave me so many hickeys!” I complained as I covered his mouth with my hand. He lightly bit my hand, making me back away. He laughed when I yanked my hand off his mouth and then wiped it on the sheets. Oh, here comes the teasing. “My mouth was all over yours last night and you didn’t wipe it off. What gives?” he teased, smiling. I rolled my eyes and flicked his forehead, making him laugh. “That is an entirely different thing, you dummy.” “Mm-hmm…” Alvarez smiled and stared at my face, making me feel conscious. He looked like he was in a trance, though. That’s why I didn’t tell him off. I wanted to, but it felt wrong to do so… After a few seconds, he smiled and nuzzled his face to my neck again. There came the feathery kisses that made me want to go crazy again. “Diaz,” he called as he drew small circles on my waist. My breathing hitched. “Hmm?” “I want to know how you can look so f*****g gorgeous so early in the morning…” he mumbled as he squeezed my waist a little. “Come on. That’s got to be a lie,” I replied, not believing everything he said. He shook his head and sighed. “It can’t be a lie, Diaz. f**k, I want to kiss you so bad.” “What’s stopping you, then?” “Trouble…” he called, his tone full of warning. “Ah, you really are a handful.” Oh, I love it when he calls me trouble. There’s a tinge of thrill and excitement that I never thought I would feel because of a term used to address me. Perhaps because it was Alvarez who used it. Such a strange endearment… Ah, I’m not even sure if it really is an endearment. Either way, it doesn’t matter what kind of endearment he uses to call me. I began to play with Alvarez’s hair, slowly becoming fond of it. He has surprisingly soft hair, especially when it isn’t styled or anything. Oftentimes, he just leaves it after showering and refuses to touch it, especially when he feels too lazy to do so. There were a few times when he made me comb his hair because he was too tired to do it for himself. He sometimes asks me to do it when I do my skincare routines at night as well, all so he can join me. I smiled and slowly combed his hair with my hands while he got really comfortable in my arms. It feels a bit strange to be in this sort of situation with him, especially after what happened last night and this morning. Ah, I want to forget already… “Alvarez…” I trailed off as I tried to see his face. The man refused to lift his head up, though. His head was quite heavy! He seemed to have gotten too comfortable just snuggling, so he embraced me tighter, making my body press against him more. I continued to resist because I wanted to look at his face, but he was too strong! When he heard me exhale loudly, he must have realized that I had already given up. He snickered. “Cute.” “f**k you.” “Uh-huh…” he trailed off as he planted another feathery kiss on my shoulder. I was about to tease him for kissing me a little too much when I felt something poking from below. Ah, s**t. I groaned and punched his shoulder a bit, but he simply laughed and continued what he was doing. “You’re already rock hard. Seriously?” I asked, unable to believe that despite being fully clothed…he still feels that way! “It’s because it’s you, Diaz…” he mumbled. I barely heard what he said because of how muffled his voice was, especially when his face was literally pressed against my neck. Even so, I got the gist of it. Ah, it pleases me to know that the great Gray Alvarez’s libido can only be this strong around me. Just thinking about him not being able to f**k anyone else after me just feels a wee bit too nice. If he ever dumps in the worst way possible, it would satisfy me so much to find out that he could no longer do it with anyone else. Ah, it does seem too weird for me to be saying such things. But I guess being crazy comes with marrying an Alvarez. And I can already see even crazier things happening from here on. I sighed and thought about what I should do from here on. There is something I am trying to forget, but Alvarez really isn’t helping. With him acting like this, I wouldn’t be able to… Ah. “I was just wondering…” he muttered as he lifted his face. “Finally,” I said as I held his chin and stared at his face. This gorgeous face… “Diaz, have you been in contact with your ex-boyfriend?” “Hmm? Who?” This is a good time to tease him. Perhaps a little payback for destroying me last night wouldn’t be so bad. Just a little, though. I don’t want to do something I would probably regret. “How many exes do you have? You already know I’m talking about Raven, come on!” he complained as he kissed my chin. “Oh, him…” I was getting sidetracked by his face and forgot to answer his question. But I actually wanted to mess with him more, so I pretended that I didn’t have the proper answer. His question was a little too random anyway! I mean, I have not been in contact with Raven. We haven’t even been able to discuss things about our project because Alvarez has been making sure that I am limiting communication with everyone as a precautionary method. I understood why he did that, but I haven’t been able to work since then. And neither have I talked to my teammates about the project he assigned to me! It wasn’t like me to neglect my responsibilities, but the situation we were in just somehow pushed it to happen. “Diaz, I know you heard my question. Stop pretending just so you can make me jealous,” Alvarez told me as he held my chin in place. Slowly, he leaned in to kiss me, but I evaded. His lips landed on my cheeks, instead. Ha! He looked pissed about what I did! He gritted his teeth and held my nape as he swiftly reversed our position. I was now beneath him while he hovered over me. Shit. His necklace is dangling right above my face, and damn, I just remembered how it hit my face every time he moved back and forth last night. The sight was so hot that I could not forget it— This is no time for unholy thoughts! I shouldn’t be fantasizing about him when he’s just right in front—I mean, above me! “Look, I haven’t been in contact with him at all. Even as friends! He said he respects that I am married now and that he shouldn’t even try to come between.” He c****d his head to the side. Damn, that was hot. “Uh-huh. Did I not assign you both to the same department and project? How are you two not in contact?” “I haven’t been able to get back to work, remember? I was waiting for the score with Zenon to be settled. You told me to!” “Oh.” “Yeah. Oh.” He snickered and allowed himself to fall on top of me, but not enough for him to crush me. He weighs a lot, especially because he works out, so when he does this, he makes sure that I won't get hurt. “Just tell me if you can’t handle it anymore,” he told me as he buried his face in my chest. “It doesn’t really matter, idiot.” He looked up at me, raising a brow. “What?” “I’m saying I’m not lacking in terms of strength.” “I know that much, Diaz. I simply said that to make sure that I wouldn’t crush you.” “Right, right. You can go back to sleep now.” Alvarez went quiet for some time, but I knew damn well that he was not asleep. I am only wearing a tank top, so he is just enjoying what he can. He always, always does this. “You’re kind of heavy, you know,” I told him as I played with his hair again. “Tap out when it’s too much.” “What? We’re not even having se—” “Just say you want to do it. I’ll gladly take you up on your offer.” “Seriously, just how much of a s*x drive do you have?” I complained as I jokingly pulled his hair. “Don’t do that, it turns me on,” he teased as he flashed an annoying smirk. “I’ll kill you.” He chuckled as he crawled up to my face and kissed me, gently biting my lip. “Be my guest, mi amor…” I simply rolled my eyes and pushed him away, making him fall. He chuckled when I rolled over to the farthest side of the bed. Luckily, the bed was huge enough. “Come on, I’m not done with you.” “Screw you,” I told him as I hugged one of the pillows. “Mm-hmm…” Slowly, he moved over to my side and pulled me towards himself. I couldn’t do anything anymore! “I like this…” “What are you talking about?” He shook his head. “Just…this. Your body next to mine, so close that I could finally reach you.” I did not understand what he meant by that. And even when I tried to get him to explain, he chose to remain quiet and simply stare at my face. This man sure is a weirdo. “Tomorrow, we’re going to go to work together. I can’t just keep you here all the damned time,” he told me after a long stretch of silence. “Are you ready to go back?” I was hesitant, but I am in his arms right now… “I was born ready.” It was another one of those lies I never should have told him.
