Chapter 79: Never Lower Your Guard

2140 Words
“Don’t you think we can just take this to court?” I asked while Alvarez and I were having dinner. He chuckled. “It wouldn’t be that simple to put Zenon Leviste behind bars, and I think you could vouch for that one.” I also let out a low chuckle as I briefly looked out at the sky from the window in the kitchen. Alvarez was absolutely right about that one. As far as I remember, Zenon has been through plenty of cases, even though they weren’t the same as this one. And as it seems, he’s trying to be as careful as possible. I’m guessing he already knows that the authorities have their eyes on him. That’s only natural, considering how much trouble he’s caused over the past years. Now that he is crossing someone of Alvarez’s stature, he really has to be as careful as possible. Ha! No wonder he has been using the dirtiest tricks known to mankind! I mean, it’s nothing compared to what Alvarez and I can do when we get serious, but that doesn’t change the fact that he is nothing more than a worthless scumbag that we can get rid of if we wanted to. Looking back, I could have shown him who the boss was when he went to meet me to confront me before the wedding. Perhaps things could have been better if that's what I did. Either way, I don’t really care anymore. Right now, I need to get Alvarez to find out who is backing Zenon in this. There’s no way he could have achieved all of this on his own. “Hey…” I called as I placed my utensils down, trying to get my brain cells to work their wonders. “Hmm?” Alvarez hummed in response as he continued to eat. “I was wondering…” I trailed off as I stared at the glass of water in front of me. “Do you know who’s backing Zenon? He couldn’t have crossed you up until now if there was no one helping him.” He smiled and placed his utensils down. “You really are a sharp one, aren’t you?” I tilted my head to the side, confused. “What are you talking about?” “Well…” He stood up to take the dishes to the sink. It’s his task today. “There is someone that has been backing the asshole up.” “Who?” He shrugged. “That’s the problem, Diaz. We have no idea who it was and we have no means of confirming anything yet.” A sigh escaped from my lips as I tapped on the table, trying to think again. If Alvarez is having a hard time tracking that person, even with his team, then what more if I tried to intervene? Right now, all that I can do is wait and see what happens and how everything plays out. I mean, if I tried to get mixed in, it would only make things worse because that was how it has always been. Or perhaps not. Why the hell would the black lotus of the Diaz family stand down? Especially not after getting her edge back. There is no way I would let this opportunity pass to test myself out. I can pull plenty of strings, especially with this pretty face. I was born with this privilege, so I might as well make use of it well. “Diaz, don’t dare,” Alvarez told me when he realized that I had gotten lost in my thoughts. I chuckled. “I wasn’t really thinking of anything in particular.” “I want you to realize how dangerous this person is,” he told me as he continued washing the dishes. “We have been trying to track them for a long time now. Zenon has never been careful with his endeavors, but the person that’s supporting him is.” “What do you mean? Didn’t you tell me Zenon has been giving you a hard time with all his schemes?” I frowned when I realized that it was a lie. “I did say that, but only because I knew you would try to help with finding the real enemy in this game.” “I will, but that’s because we are in this together!” “We are, that’s true. But Diaz, I can’t let you in on the fray until I confirm their identity.” “Let me in on what?” “The real scheme.” For some reason, I already get the gist of what he is talking about. It’s not something I would understand normally, but right now, I fully comprehend it. Even if he doesn’t explain, I already know what it is. The problem is, I don’t think I have enough trust in store for what he wants to achieve. Alvarez is a sly fox, and so am I. Neither of us trusts the other, and that’s what the biggest problem is. How the hell are we going to carry this plan out if we can’t even let our guard down against each other? I’m starting to think that he knows what I did while he was away, but he hasn’t confronted me about it yet. That’s why I don’t understand why he has been a bit hostile towards everybody, including me. “Alvarez,” I called as I followed him to the office. “Hmm?” I sat on the chair in front of his desk, worried. “Are you okay?” He raised a brow at me. “Yes, why?” “Well, you seem a bit…out of it.” “What are you talking about?” I watched Alvarez put his glasses on as he skimmed through a bunch of papers. He really does look good while working, especially when he’s frustrated. A sigh escaped from my lips as I walked over to him to sit on his lap. When he’s like this, I would often try to make my moves and get him to let his guard down around me. After doing this so many times, I felt like I already had him memorized. But now, it suddenly feels like we’re back to square one. It’s as if Alvarez’s guard is high up now…like he’s telling me there’s no way I would be able to climb up. Wow… Did I mess up? When? Where? This is bad. “Hey, what’s wrong?” I asked worriedly as I held his cheeks. He looked up at me, his brows furrowed. “Nothing. I’m just trying to get some work done. Come on, I think it’s better if you go—” “Are you making me leave?” Alvarez has never asked me to leave, especially when I am the one initiating. But right now, he’s acting like he doesn’t care the least bit. Does he…not like me anymore? Wait. Did he ever even like me? Why did he offer to marry me in the first place? Shit. And why am I only asking these questions now…? “Look.” He sighed and held my cheeks, making me face him. “It’s nothing serious. Perhaps I just need some time to rest.” “But you’re doing all this work. Shouldn’t you go rest in the bedroom?” He sighed, his grip on my waist tightening. I almost let out a whimper, but I tried to remain as quiet as possible. I feel like if I did something he doesn’t like, things would end in a bad light. I swallowed the lump in my throat, afraid of what Alvarez might say. Things are finally going the way I want them to, and I can’t let anything ruin that for me… “I’m sorry. Maybe I should just see myself out…” I muttered, standing up. I never should have bothered him! It just made things worse… As I got off him, looking glum, I thought about the possible reason he was acting this way. But before I could walk away, he held my wrist and made me stay. “What is it? Do you need something?” I asked, almost too eagerly. He nodded. “Bend over.” I blinked twice at him, confused. “What?” “Diaz, you know I don’t like repeating myself,” he told me with a stern tone. Although confused, I did as he told me to. I bent over, my hands holding onto his desk to support myself. My legs were trembling, but not out of fear. I looked back at Alvarez and saw him removing his belt. Oh. I shut my eyes tightly when he pulled my silk shorts down. I heard him chuckle, probably because I wasn’t wearing underwear. But it was comfortable that way! I bit my lower lip when he started to lick my cunt, his finger teasing my cunt. Slowly, he inserted a finger…or two. s**t. I could hear the sounds it made whenever Alvarez pushed and pulled his fingers and tongue inside. “Ah—!” I covered my mouth to stop myself from moaning too loud. “Hngh, Gray. s**t, right there…” My eyes were rolling back at the pleasure. With the way Alvarez groans whenever I tighten around my fingers, his breath tickling my p***y, I knew I wouldn’t last long. “Ah! I’m close—!” My entire body trembled, and he had to hold my waist in place as I came all over his face. I was too embarrassed to look at him, but I was forced to look when he held my chin and kissed me, making me taste myself. “Mmph! Hey—!” I couldn’t speak because he shoved his tongue inside me. He’s ruthless, but I can’t say I hate it. And just as I thought that was where it ends, I felt his c**k twitching against my stomach. My eyes widened when he shoved it inside me without further ado. “Ah! Gray!” I screamed when he started ramming it inside me, destroying me from within. “s**t, you’re so tight…” he muttered as he sped his pacing up. “Ah! Ngh! Too rough—!” My words were muffled by his aggressive kisses. I couldn’t speak anymore as his tongue explored my mouth, shutting me up. “You like that, hmm? f**k, you’re so good for me…” He groaned and crashed his lips against mine once more. He slowed down, and I thought he was going to be a little gentler, but I was wrong. He shoved it deep inside of me, and I swear I felt so full. He kept doing it while devouring my mouth, and then began to speed up again. I’m close! But I couldn’t say it out loud because of how deranged I must look right now. My saliva and his have combined, and every moan I wanted to let out was muffled by his own. Just as I was about to reach my climax, he pushed the papers off of his table and placed me on it. He then placed my ankles above his shoulder and began to thrust inside me at an ungodly pace. “f**k!” He groaned and sucked on my neck while I wrapped my arms around his neck, digging my nails into his skin. “You’re always so good for me, mi amor…” This is the roughest he had been, as if he didn’t care as long as I gave him pleasure. It did hurt as he used to treat me so gently, but today was different. What the hell could have happened? I was panting on his table, unable to move a limb. He was hovering over me, trying to catch his breath as well. I was only able to appreciate how good he looked. Before I could say anything, he scooped me up and carried me to the bathroom. He quietly readied my bath and got dressed. I thought it was something endearing, at least until he came up to me. “I have work to do. I trust you can handle yourself now,” he told me as he turned his back on me. “But you—” “What? Didn’t you come to my office for that?” He raised a brow. “Yes, but…” He smirked. “See? Then I’m sure you can handle yourself now. I have a mountain’s worth of work.” My mouth went agape as I watched him walk away. He is definitely mad. Otherwise, why would he do me so roughly? And now he’s giving me the cold shoulder. But…what did I do? Shit. This is why you should never lower your guard…
