Grace jumped out of bed and rushed to the window.
Outside, there were two figures standing by the fence.
One was a tall man in a black suit, muscular and imposing.
The other, small and short, was wearing a khaki-blue coat with a black knit hat on his head.
And the smaller one looked absolutely adorable and handsome.
Who else could it be but her own son?
His name was Lucas...
Grace whispered his name in her heart, and tears instantly welled up in her eyes as she gazed at him.
"Lucas..."
Lucas Astor, who had been intently controlling the drone by the fence, suddenly heard his name being called.
He turned around, looking slightly annoyed at being interrupted.
Grace waved frantically, nearly shouting out, "Mommy... I'm here. Darling, come here!"
She almost blurted out that she was his mother!
Finally, Lucas saw her.
But his expression was far from the joy Grace had hoped to see.
In those beautiful eyes, which resembled his father's so much, there was nothing but cold indifference and impatience.
"Who are you?" he asked.
"It's me... Remember? We met in that suite... Do you remember?"
She gestured to him from the window, hoping he'd recall her.
"Oh, it's you!"
"Yes, yes, it's me. Can you come over so I can see you? Just for a moment."
"Childe Lucas, we must leave now." A bodyguard stepped forward to stop him.
"Move!" Lucas kicked his feet and walked over.
Grace's heart soared. Finally, she had the chance to get close to him.
The last time they were in the suite, she hadn't even exchanged a word with him.
"Why are you locked up here? Aren't you supposed to be Daddy's doctor?"
Lucas' little face, so similar to Allen's, was expressionless as he stared at Grace.
Grace's heart felt like it was being stabbed.
This was her fault. If she hadn't left Lucas with William all those years ago, he wouldn't have turned out like this!
He should have been more like Allen—cheerful, smiling...
With trembling hands, Grace extended her arm through the window, wanting to touch him.
"Yes... I'm here to treat your father."
"Treatment? Why would he lock you up for treatment? What is he going to do to you?"
Lucas, just like Allen, was incredibly sharp.
Grace's nose stung, and she had to blink back tears.
"It's nothing. Don't worry about me. The wind is really strong. You should go back inside."
She didn't want to talk about these things and changed the subject, urging him to go back.
The wind was too strong, and while playing with a drone wasn't dangerous, it was already so late, and the sea air was damp.
She was afraid he might catch a cold.
But Lucas didn't listen to her. When he saw Grace not answering his question, he turned and walked away.
"Go get me a few more batteries."
"Childe Lucas..."
The bodyguard's face showed obvious discomfort.
Grace was about to say something again when someone else suddenly came from the deck.
"Hey, Lucas, you've been playing for so long! It's time to go back. Otherwise, William's going to scold you!"
Grace saw a young woman with exquisite makeup and luxurious clothing.
It was Ruby, the woman she had met at the hospital that day.
So she was on this boat too... was she William's new wife?
Would she treat Lucas well?
"My God, don't you realize how weak you are? What a troublesome little brat. Stop playing and pack up!"
Ruby walked over impatiently and touched Lucas, noticing his clothes were already wet.
Her face darkened immediately.
Lucas didn't care, continuing to control the drone.
"Why are you such a bad boy? Put it down now!"
When he didn't listen, Ruby raised her voice in a sharp command.
Not only that, but she also grabbed at his hand, trying to wrest the controller from him.
Grace watched in horror from the window as Lucas gritted his teeth, his fingers turning white around the controller.
When Ruby saw he wouldn't let go, she simply twisted his hand to force him to release it.
Grace's heart broke at the sight!
"You witch! Let go of him! How dare you treat him like that?!"
Her voice cracked in fury, her throat hoarse as she screamed from inside the cabin.
Ruby, who had been twisting Lucas' hand, froze, her face paling.
'Damn it! I forgot that she was still locked up here!'
If Grace told William, everything Ruby had worked for would be ruined!
Ruby quickly released Lucas and turned to panic.
Grace was still shouting, "How can you be so malicious? He may not be your own child, but he's William's son! You married him—can't you treat him better? He's only five!"
Ruby quickly regained her composure.
"What are you talking about? I don't understand. What's wrong with me? I was just worried he might catch a cold, so I came over to tell him to go back. Did I do something wrong?"
Grace pointed at the bodyguard. "You saw her being so rough with him, didn't you? You saw everything! She can't deny it!"
But the most terrifying thing was that Ruby, after hearing this, smiled seductively and walked straight over to the bodyguard.
"You saw it?"
"No... no, I didn't see anything."
"You didn't hear him say it either, so you really have wronged me!"
Ruby smiled again and turned back to Grace.
"And by the way, what does this have to do with you, Dr. Moore?"
