Good Morning!
Welcome to Bayview! My name is Dr. LeBoux and I will be your primary counselor during your stay. Part of your treatment will be to keep a journal with writing assignments and reflections about your frustrations, your hopes and your growth demonstrated during your time here. The key to successful recovery is positive and productive self evaluation, as well as secondary counseling, so please be advised that I will be reading over your journal to help ensure we are on the same page. I have found that while you think you might already know, writing letters to yourself is a very easy way to express your inner and validate your inner monologue. Following this logic, your first assignment is to write a letter introducing yourself to your inner voice and to chronicle your general feelings at Bayview. Please include things such as your name, occupation, age, skills, hobbies, likes, dislikes and reason why you are spending time with us here at Bayview, as well as describing your overall mood and expand on your you feel that way. This assignment should be completed for our first meeting, which will be Monday, at 3pm, fourth floor, second door on the left. Please be prompt. I look forward to meeting you.
Dr. Mae LeBoux
P.S. I hope you like green, it was the prettiest notebook I could find.
Dear Self,
Name: Samantha Jones
Occupation: Pre-School Teacher
Skills: not killing children, roller blading, numb chuck skills
Hobbies: Reading, Running, Crafting
Likes: Books, Music, Exercise
Dislikes: Violent p**n, Vodka, People with overactive imaginations
What brought you to Bayview: Unknown
General Mood - Frustrated
Expand -This is pointless. This might be the most pointless thing I've ever had to do in my entire life and I am Catholic. But I have been told that "self evaluation and documentation are integral parts of the healing process" and that "compliance with the recommended treatment plan will expedite my departure from Bayview." So. I have officially been placed with an individual counselor, Dr. LeBoux. Who promptly sent me homework, and a notebook and pen to ensure I completed it. So, the sooner I get this done and over with, the sooner I can get the f**k out of here. And I need to get the f**k out of here. I have a job and a life and Jake's not around to pick up the slack. Who’s going to take my kids? Who’s going to send the care packages? Who’s going to take care of our apartment? Who’s going to pay the bills I don't even have access to a f*****g computer! f**k! I am not crazy, I am not violent, but I can't promise I won't be if I don't get out of here. f**k!
Sincerely,
Self
