"Mom told us to go to Pierce Manor. We're going together."
His grip was hard enough to hurt.
Vivian didn't struggle.
She simply looked up at him, a slow, mocking smile forming on her lips.
"Adrian, since when did you stoop this low? Have you started running to your mother to tattle on me now?"
His face changed instantly.
"You think I told her?" His voice rose as though she'd insulted him beyond belief. "Vivian, what are you talking about? When did I ever go running to my mother about you?"
"If it wasn't you, how would she know I'm working at Hale Group? Why would she suddenly order us back to Pierce Manor?"
"It wasn't me. I never told her about your job."
Vivian said nothing.
It was obvious from Vivian's expression that she didn't believe him.
