Elena’s POV “Are you a virgin?” Marie, the owner of the entertainment brand asked. I went tight lipped at her question. Ever since I followed her back to her office, she has been keeping a close eye on me, looking at me as if she did not trust me. I didn’t want to say much about me because I was scared she would fire me. I just needed the money and a job. So, her question about my virginity set me into an anxiety-filled state. Telling her I was a virgin was a deal breaker. “No,” I replied in a vibrant tone of voice and picked up one of the make-up brushes on the vanity table. “Why'd you ask?” Marie shrugged and stood beside me. She took the brush from me and picked up the powder. “That is because you act very shy and timid. You also look quite different compared to the girls here. I've been in this line of business enough to tell from a single glance,” she said and powdered my face. “Well, I'm not a virgin. I might just appear prude but I'm experienced.” Marie halted what she was doing and nodded firmly. She dropped the brush and patted me on the shoulder. “Finish up what you're doing.” She faced away and looked at the other girls in the room. “We leave in ten minutes.” Once she was away from me, I took a deep breath. I had to do this even though I was dying on the inside from worry since the people we were going to meet were going to be the same family who came to the family house, at least one of them. ☆☆☆ The hotel was grand, which was the royal hotel the royal family always stayed in and owned. It was surreal being here even though my parents have been to this hotel for meetings with the royal family. I never had this experience before, so it was a new one for me. “The guests are already waiting in the suite. There is a little stage in the center of the room for the dancers. Also, some of your clients are in some parts of the house, which I'll inform you about. Each of you has your very own client.” Marie stepped into the center of the room and began to hand each girl an envelope. “In the envelope are the names of your clients you will be entertaining tonight,” she said and stopped in front of me. Marie handed me a golden envelope which was different from the other white, plain ones she gave the others. I eyed it in confusion, wondering why mine was different. “Alright, time to make money, girls.” She clapped and motioned for us to move. I opened the envelope and pulled out the card inside of it. My eyes widened when I saw the name written on the paper. Valen Draconhart. I was entertaining a Draconhart? Why couldn’t it be someone that wasn't? From the chatter coming from inside the suite, I could tell there were lots of people in there and that not all of them were from the Draconhart family. My worry was that they had business with my family, and they were one of the most arrogant, cruelest and highest ranked families in the country. They dined with Queen Elizabeth and other royals and elites in Europe. I was scared of messing up and having my family find out what I was doing. “Elena?” I snapped out of my thoughts and looked at Marie. The other girls had left, leaving me alone with Marie. “Are you okay?” She asked. “Yes.” I cleared my throat. “I didn't expect to entertain a Draconhart.” Marie smiled. “Which is why I am giving you to him. You're special and don't worry, he won't do anything you don't want, I'm sure… By the way, he is in the master bedroom. You can meet him there.” I bit my bottom lip and nodded then walked over to the door. I sighed and opened it then stepped out of the room and into the bustling living room. The music was loud; the people around were moving their bodies to the song playing. It was chaos. The dancers on the stage were half naked, dancing with the pole on the stage as cash was tossed at them. It was an odd sight since the people in this room were part of a royal family or came from influential families. The sight before me was different from their pristine and uptight lifestyle I looked away and started to walk toward the area where the rooms were located. I passed every door that had an information of what room it was until I got to the master bedroom. My heart jumped in my chest as a wave of anxiety hit me. I was actually doing this. “I need to do this. Just breathe, Elena,” I said and grabbed the door handle. I opened the door and was met with a dim room that was slightly illuminated with the bedside lamps. I swallowed and stepped into the room. I shut the door and slowly made my way to the large bed on the other side of the room. Being in the room made me realize just how short my dress was and how high my heels were. I was going to be alone with a man who would probably sleep with me. A man, who was known to be the cold-hearted Duke Valen Draconhart of Zerland. Behind me, a door opened and closed, making my back stiffen. “Oh, hello.” His deep, raspy voice filled the room. I was in a room with a man of great influence, a man with so much power enough to render my life and family useless if I made one single mistake. “You must be my entertainer for the night.” His voice was getting closer. I gasped softly when I felt a warmth behind me. I could also smell him. His scent was a mix of sandalwood, ash and a little hint of vanilla. It was a strong yet soft scent and the warmth emanating off him sent a shiver down my spine. I shuddered when he grabbed my hair and moved it forward, resting it on my chest. He placed his hand on my bare shoulder and started to caress my shoulder with his thumb, making goosebumps rise on my skin. His palm was hot on my skin, as hot as a warm plate as he glided it past my shoulder and down the length of my arm. “Turn around, let me see you,” he whispered close to the back of my neck. “You smell so good and feel so soft. I want to see the face of of the woman who will please me tonight” His words made a fluttering feeling fill my stomach. My body was starting to react to his words and his touch. The fluttering intensified when he took a hold of my hip and pressed his front against my back. “You're so warm,” he said against my ear. I shuddered and arched my body against his front before leaning in his arms. He chuckled in my ear and moved his hand up my stomach, through the valley between my breasts and stopped at my neck. He wrapped his hand around my neck and pressed his lips against the shell of my ear. “So warm,” he said. “Turn around for me. Now.” The dominance in his voice had me already feeling the urge to obey him. Without wasting any more time, I turned around in his arms with my head bowed. I placed my hands on his broad chest and raised my eyes to look at him. My breath hitched from the air leaving my lungs. The man before me was gorgeous, majestic and handsome. He was perfectly moulded by the gods who made perfect humans. His facial features were perfect; a pointed nose that matched the hunter eyes he had. His lips, looking soft and slightly full, were stretched into a smirk. His eyes were a bright shade of brown, fitting the shadows surrounding his eyes. I scanned the sharpness of his jawline to his thick mass of dark hair that fell around his forehead, giving him a more mysterious appearance. He was handsome, an attraction I knew I would never forget. “You…” I blinked at the tone of his voice. He sounded different, almost as if he knew me. It made my heart start to beat fast and loud. Did he know me from my family? “I…” The man, Valen Draconhart, smirked and cupped my chin with his large hand. He pulled my head close and leaned forward, getting close to my face. “I finally have you,” he said in a deeper voice. “Now, I can have my fill of you and quench my hunger.” Duke Valen leaned forward, closed the gap between us and kissed me hard on the lips.
